  • The Korean government plans to introduce the building energy performance standard which regulates the annual energy consumption of buildings. This paper aimed to set up the reference building from database based on the building design trends for non-residential buildings. We surveyed the design data of 435 non-residential buildings which were granted building permission from 2007 to 2011. And we conducted estimation on the heating & cooling load and the energy consumption of the reference building using ECO2 program. From results, the reference building of non-residential buildings was office building which had a total 7 floors and 20,838m220,838m2 gross floor area. And it suggests the design reference data of building envelope, HAVC, heat source equipment and lighting system for the reference building. The total annual energy use of the reference building was 151.9kWh/m2yr151.9kWh/m2yr.

  • To receive financial support for the Green Remodeling, applicants must submit an energy simulation report. However, many of the applicants are not green remodeling specialist and energy simulation services are too expensive for them. For this reason, this study was to develop an energy simulation program to enhance green remodeling for the non-specialist such as housewives. Firstly, to enhance understanding and accessibility improvement energy simulation, simulation process was designed four steps and reducing input data. Specifically, input data was reduced by categorizing the following for the area, plan type, hot water load, electricity load, statistical inference. And then, to accurately verify the calculation result, the heat and hot water demand were derived and compared with ECO2 and Energy # program. Lastly, the calculation shows that there is a difference of 4% for the heat load and 15% to 33% for the hot water load respectively.

  • The current building energy efficiency rating certification regulation on apartment houses evaluates only the saving rate of energy consumed during operation, i.e. use, of a building, but doesn't consider the energy consumptions and environmental load(CO2CO2) emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building. So this study calculated the energy consumptions and environmental load emissions occurring during the whole lifetime of a building, selected reference schemes and alternative items by design variables to present a design draft considering energy efficiency and environmental performance, and evaluated the total cost by combining and calculating its direct cost(material and heating cost) and indirect cost(environmental cost), for an existing apartment house as an evaluation object. As a result of analysis, the change of heating cost by alternative items of design variables showed a 4~8% change rate compared to the reference scheme, and the material cost of design variable 7 showed a maximum 4.4 times change rate in the alternative plan 6 compared to the reference scheme. The environmental cost showed a similar change rate to the material cost change rate in general, but showed a similar environmental cost change rate to the heating cost change rate in case of design variables 4-1, 4-2, 7.

  • Heat island is caused by changes of land coverage structure of cities and use of energy in buildings. As a result energy use in buildings get to increase further followed by rising of GHG emission and deteriorating climate change. Eco-friendly housing complex is a kind of plan that applies environmental control elements like water and green spaces to housing complex. With these methods, it can be expected to create thermal environment of indoor and outdoor. In this paper quantitative examination is studied on using CFD to find out the effects of river, water permeable, parks and planting on thermal environment. And by comparing field measurements with CFD results which are aimed to development phase housing complex, feasibility and usability of the CFD analysis results are confirmed. And also, analysis on the ventilation performance followed by natural ventilation system is analyzed by selecting one building in housing complex. Based on the results, the possibilities of energy reduction through making thermal environment and applying natural ventilation are studied. With these outcomes, creating thermal conditions and using natural ventilation would be contributed to GHG reduction.

  • Pusan has experienced some different paths of urbanization and industrialization compared to other cities. and has faced the problem of over-saturation In enoronmental capacity. Pusan needs to fond out sustainable development strategies based on Agenda 21 by UNCED In 1992 to secure urban renewal. Therefore. Pusan's sustainable development strategies focus on the 1)research on envlronmental capacity and reasonable population accommodation 2)supp1y of basic enoronmental facilities for the human settlement 3)protection and efficient management of environmental pollution 4)saving and control of energy and other resources S)independent and stable euecution of plan based on biological relation 6)harmony between nature and urban spatial organization. In addition. these policies can be suggested along with the conclusions; First, ostablishment of green plan-muddle and long term environmental goals Included In the urban planning to reduce enoronmental deterioration and pollution. Second, computation of sustalnability Indeu the Index Is necessary to sustainable urban development, which is related with green GNP of the national level. Third, capacity estimation of nature and social environment-estimation of enoronmental capacity to the civilized area is required become an ecopolis, and is required to focus on the western area of Pusan which has high decree of potentiality.

  • On the crisis of international economy, the government is making an effort to seek economic growing motivation with the method of overcoming economic crisis and 'low carbon green growth'. Furthermore, to promote maritime vessel traffic service related inefficient energy wastage was revealed and eco-friendly alternative energy was accepted because of high price of oil in the beginning of 2008. In this situation, I'm going to discuss the possibility of eco-friendly energy system in maritime vessel traffic service with the way of cutting the budget and expansion of solar power generation system which was promoted to meet governmental 'energy saving plan for high price of oil'.

  • Since 2017, South Korea has been the first country in the world to implement a national certification system for Zero Energy Buildings (ZEB). This system aims to maximize the energy efficiency of buildings to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and reduce energy consumption in the building sector using renewable energy. To achieve this goal, the ZEB certification system classifies green buildings into five grades based on the energy independence rate. However, the current ZEB certification system based on the energy independence rate is only considered a requirement for building completion, losing its original intent. This study aims to highlight the problems and limitations of the ZEB certification system based on the energy independence rate and to propose an operational plan for the system that can genuinely reduce energy consumption in the building sector. For this, the actual energy consumption and the renewable energy production referenced during the certification of 10 ZEB-certified buildings were quantified and compared with the energy independence rate. The total energy consumption, energy production, life cycle cost, performance coefficient of equipment, and other key indicators were analyzed to evaluate the actual effects of ZEB certification on energy savings. As a result, the simple energy independence rate-based ZEB certification was judged to be inconsistent with the original intent of the system. The ZEB certification system needs to be re-established to reflect the design of systems that can activate and utilize energy savings and renewable energy usage in buildings. Additionally, improvements in the management and inspection systems are necessary to determine how much they contribute to actual reductions in greenhouse gas emissions and energy consumption post-certification.
