  • The purpose of this study was to figure out the effects of parents' energy conservation awareness and behaviors on young children's environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge. To achieve this, a survey was carried out to 160 kindergarten children and their parents in the farming and fishing communities located in N city, Chungnam through June 10 to June 30, 2013. The results of the analysis were as follows. First, the effect of parents' energy conservation awareness on young children's environment-friendly attitudes showed that parents' environmental preservation awareness and energy conservation awareness had an effect on young children's environment-friendly attitudes. Second, the effect of parents' energy conservation behaviors on young children's environment-friendly attitudes showed that parents' general behaviors and selective behaviors had an effect on young children's environment-friendly attitudes. Third, the effect of parents' energy conservation awareness on young children's environmental preservation knowledge showed that parents' environmental preservation knowledge and energy conservation awareness had an effect on young children's environmental preservation knowledge. Fourth, the effect of parents' energy conservation behaviors on young children's environmental preservation knowledge showed that parents' general behaviors and selective behaviors had an effect on young children's environmental preservation knowledge. As for findings stated above, parents' energy conservation awareness and behaviors had a positive effect on children's environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge. This implies that parents' right energy conservation awareness and behaviors are important to enhance children's positive environment-friendly attitudes and environmental preservation knowledge.

  • It is a global consent that we should conserve our energy consumption, due to our awareness to the environmental problems and the limitedness of the natural resource. In the country, the level of energy consumption is more than it is needed, according to its living standard and the proportion of resources imported from other countries. Educational program focused on energy conservation is essential to overcome these problems. This paper outlines a basic study on the development of an energy conservation education program for children. This program makes students aware of the importance and difficulties in energy conservation. The students can then make their own contribution and besides circulation of resources and improvement of health problems.

  • Awareness of resource conservation and pollution prevention has been continually increasing. The proven benefits from CFRP's unique combination of light weight and high strength compare to conventional material is well suited for minimizing fuel consumption during vehicle in particular rail operation. Responding the awareness, this work intends to study CFRP's recycling method that is not only technical performance but also environmental view point. According to prior work of technical performance test, this work aims at quantifying the footprint of energy and GHG derived from the two appreciated performance of pyrolysis and acids recycling methods. The streamline LCA is the concept for systematic assessment. The boundary is scoped at the recycling activity, consequently, the data in and out from the specific target activity are obtained under the gate to gate data collection. Its function is recovery carbon fiber. To count and compare function, functional unit is set at 60% of recycling rate. Korea database is mainly source for acquiring the footprint of both. The numerical results presented that the energy footprint of acids and pyrolysis is 164.95 and 1,199.88 MJ-eq., respectively. Meantime, the GHG footprint of is 1,196.22 and 5,916.08 g CO2 eq. for acids and pyrolysis. In summary, the acids recycling method is, in regarding the environmental performance, better than pyrolysis recycling method.

  • This paper aims to examine how gamification strategies lead to the changes in consumers' perspectives and behaviors on energy savings. Since gamification strategies began to be widely used in the late 2010s, the strategies have been extensively applied to a variety of industries and applications, including the field of energy savings. As energy saving practices adopting gamification strategies reflect the attributes of game, citizens can be pleased to participate in energy saving activities. Also, the gamification strategies are expected to raise citizens' awareness to the necessity of reducing energy consumption. Therefore, considering the subjects and specific objectives, the action plans for applying gamification strategies to energy saving programs are required to be established to meet the demand of new services on energy savings.

  • Traditionally heating method, pasteurization, irradiation fumigation method and radiation sterilization through a variety of methods to be performed. Irradiation energy requirements compared to the other sterilization methods is small and a strong permeability as a continuous process is possible. Irradiation energy requirements compared to the other sterilization methods is small and a strong permeability as a continuous process is possible. Also sterile, conflict, and control the germination inhibition effective food safety in the food chain has been highlighted as a conservation technique. Foreign countries is carried out extensive research on the safety and the use of irradiation food, gradually increasing. As a result, awareness of the food is irradiated with a low average showed 2.73 point. Therefore through a variety of media to improve the awareness of irradiated food and the active promotion seems to require an appropriate educational program.

  • This study aims to investigate the relationship between urbanization, economic growth, energy consumption, and CO2 emissions in Indonesia. The data used in the study are time-series data for the period 1985-2017; the data utilized are sourced from World Development Indicators obtained on the World Bank database. The method uses a quantitative approach that applies the vector error correction model based on the Granger causality test. The empirical results reveal that, in the short run, there is evidence that urbanization and energy consumption can causes CO2 emissions, and they also prove that urbanization can cause energy consumption. Also, other findings prove the existence of long-run relationships flowing from energy consumption, economic growth, and CO2 emissions toward urbanization, as well as the existence of the relationship flowing from urbanization, economic growth, and CO2 emissions towards energy consumption. The results of testing the relationship between economic growth and CO2 emissions reveal that the environmental Kuznets curve hypothesis is proven in Indonesia. Thus, policies are needed to limit the impact of urbanization through high awareness-raising to maintain environmental quality and greater use of energy. Also, energy conservation policies are needed in all sectors, especially the electricity, industry, and transportation sectors.

  • This research is based on the concept that environmentally sustainable school design itself can raise the awareness of environmental issues related with sustainability for the students in early school days. Firstly, 7th educational curriculum is analyzed in terms of environmental education and the possibility for the spatial translation is reviewed. Secondly, potential items appropriate for physical facilities are extracted. Lastly design guidelines, which covers four different categories such as school yard, energy, water and waste are provided not only for the environmental education but also for the energy efficiency and resource conservation of the facility itself.

  • In recent years, with the advancement of IT technology, we expect data size of the world to increase 10 times in 2025. The rapid development of this Internet technology leads to the downsizing of the server system of the data center which manages and operates the data, the capacity of the storage medium, and the power consumption of the data center. In this paper, we propose an energy conservation policy and analyze it in real time by analyzing the power consumption pattern of the server system of the data center. The proposed system can monitor and analyze the power consumption pattern of the individual server system in the data center, and it can be expected that about 10% of the total power consumption of the data center will be saved by efficiently managing the actual operation time of the server system.

  • In this paper, we introduce a method that can be used to select the position of head node for context-awareness information. The validity of the head node optimal location is saving the energy in the path according to the clustering. It is important how to elect one of the relay node for energy efficiency routing. Existing LEACH algorithm to elect the head node when the node's energy probability distribution function based on the management of the head node is optional cycle. However, in this case, the distance of the relay node status information including context-awareness parameters does not reflect. These factors are not suitable for the relay node or nodes are included in the probability distribution during the head node selects occurs. In particular, to solve the problems from the LEACH-based hierarchical clustering algorithms, this study defines location with the status context information and the residual energy factor in choosing topology of the structure adjacent nodes. The proposed ECOPS (Energy Conserving Optimal path Schedule) algorithm that contextual information is contributed for head node selection in topology protocols. This proposed algorithm has the head node replacement situations from the candidate head node in the optimal path and efficient energy conservation that is the path of the member nodes. The new head node election technique show improving the entire node lifetime and network in management the network from simulation results.
