  • The purpose of this research is to examination whether End-User Computing relative factors are ap-plied in Computer Assisted Reporting. Computer Assisted Reporting is closely related to End-User Computing, because IT and IS be used by reporting for data gathering and analysis. For the purpose, we've produced a survey, and then studied the effects of the use of Computer Assisted Reporting tools on the report's satisfaction and job performance. As a result, The degree of use of Computer Assisted Reporting significantly affects the degree of satisfaction and job performance. for this reason, this research can give an insight for the extension of End-User Computing relative research.

  • We improved an efficiency of fiber-optic current transformer by using a metal-coated sensor coil. To reduce the linear birefringence, we used a length of spun fiber as sensor coil, and then used a flint glass fiber coil for comparison. To make the sensor coil in the reflection type, we used different reflection mirrors at the end of the sensor coil, such as a Faraday rotator mirror, a simple mirror, a metal-coated fiber end and a simple fiber end. From the experimental results, the linear error of current measurements were less than ${\sim}$ 0.2 % regardless of the mirror types. The metal-coated sensor was the most cost-effective considering the fabrication cost and the simple structure.

  • End-use properties of six Korean waxy wheat lines and their parental plants were evaluated in this study. Korean waxy wheat lines showed unsuitable characteristics for end products, such as sticky crumb of bread, sticky cooked wet and dry noodles and small cookie diameter. Korean waxy wheat lines produced lower loaf volume and less desirable crumb grain structure of bread, and lower chewiness of cooked wet and dry noodles than their parental plants even though Korean waxy wheats were much higher in protein content and SDS-sedimentation volume than their parental plants. We observed adverse effects of high flour protein content in Korean waxy wheat lines, such as smaller cookie diameter and harder snapping force than those produced from their parental plants.

  • This research conducted milling tests to study effects of cutting environment conditions of ball end milts on the characteristics of high speed milling cutting process. KP4 steels and STD11 heat treated steels were used as the workpiece and WC-Co ball end mill tools with TiAIN coated were utilized in the cutting tests. Dry cutting without coolant and semidry cutting using botanical oil coolant by the MQL(Minimum Quantity Lubricant) device were conducted. Cutting forces, tool wear and surface roughness were measured in the cutting tests. Results showed that MQL spray cutting of KP4 and hardened STD11 specimens produced better surface quality and wear performance than dry cutting did.

  • The purpose of this paper is to investigate the natural frequencies and mode shapes of tapered beams with general boundary condition(translational and rotational elastic support) at one end and carrying a tip mass with translational elastic support at the other end. The beam model is based on the classical Bernoulli-Euler beam theory which neglects the effects of rotatory inertia and shear deformation. The governing differential equation for the free vibrations of linearly tapered beams is solved numerically using the corresponding boundary conditions. Numerical results are compared with existing solutions by other methods for cases in which they are available. The lowest three natural frequencies and the corresponding mode shapes are calculated over a wide range of section ratio, dimensionless spring constant, and mass ratio.

  • Nine tests to failure are performed on full-scale eight composite beams with unreinforced web opening having ribbed slabs with formed deck which are perpendicular to the steel section and one steel beam. The effects of slab width, reinforcing of stud, moving of rib, moment-shear ratio are studied. At the low M/V ratio, Vierendeel action around the high moment end of the opening is occurred and the large deflection across the opening and transverse cracking are occurred with increasing of applied load. As the M/V ratio increases, the relative deflection across the opening decreases. And at failure, full tensile strain are occurred at bottom T section of steel beam, and concrete crushes at the High Moment End of the opening. With narrow slabs, diagonal tension failure at the high moment end of the opening is occurred. And with wide slabs, rib punch-through failure is occurred near the high moment end of the opening. The implications for design are discussed.

  • The extensive use of pretensioned prestressed concrete in the modem construction industry, together with wider application of pretensioned components for structural purposes requires some important consideration on the adequate transfer of prestress force into the concrete, especially around the end zones of pretensioned member. The main objective of this paper is to study the effects of various important parameters on the bond characteristics of prestressing strand around the end zone of high strength pretensioned concrete members. To this end, a comprehensive experimental program has been set up. The principal test variables considered were strand diameter, concrete strength, concrete cover size. The present study provides valuable test data for the realistic and accurate determination of transfer length, which can be efficiently used for improving the design equation of transfer length in pretensioned prestressed concrete members.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the effects of a hospice and palliative care education program including meaning in life on attitudes to end-of-life care and meaning in life for nursing students. Methods: This study used a quasi-experimental and non- synchronized with a non-equivalent control group design. The experimental group (n=28) participated in a hospice and palliative care education program including meaning in life. The control group (n=28) participated only in a hospice and palliative care education program. The 30-hour course examined hospice and palliative nursing care and logotherapy. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire consisting of general characteristics, attitudes to end-of-life care, and meaning in life. Collected data were analyzed for frequency, percentage, ${\chi}^2$-test, and t-test using SPSS 19.0 WIN Program. Results: Scores for the attitude towards end-of-life care in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. The meaning in life scores in the experimental group were significantly higher than in the control group. Conclusion: These findings suggest that the hospice and palliative care education program, including meaning in life, was effective in enhancing the attitude to end-of-life care and meaning in life among nursing students.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate variables and construct paths that affect complicated grief. Methods: Participants in this cross-sectional, descriptive study were 164 bereaved spouses of cancer patients at least 12 months before the death. Data were collected from October 2016 to February 2017 using self-report structured questionnaires and were analyzed using IBM SPSS 21.0 and AMOS 20.0. Results: The variables affecting complicated grief of bereaved spouses of cancer patients were the quality of end-of-life care (${\gamma}=.15$, p<.001), preparedness for death (${\beta}=-.06$, p=.005), and coping with bereavement (${\beta}=-.24$, p<.001), whereas the quality of death and dying did not show any effects. Preparedness for death had multiple mediating effects in the relationship between the quality of end-of-life care and complicated grief (z=-2.20, p=.028), and in the relationship between the quality of end-of-life care and coping with bereavement (z=2.11, p=.035). Coping with bereavement had a mediating effect on the relationship between preparedness for death and complicated grief (z=-2.39, p=.017). Conclusion: This study revealed that preparedness for death and coping with bereavement play a prominent role in complicated grief. Therefore, it is important to help in preparing for death and enhancing coping with bereavement of spouses providing end-of-life care to cancer patients. In addition, investigating cultural differences in the relationship between the quality of end-of-life care and complicated grief is recommended.
