Multilevel model analysis was performed to estimate the impact of relevant factors at the individual and environmental levels. Results: At the individual level, the significant factors associated with emotional/behavioral problems included BMI and study tendency in boys, and drinking, study tendency and economic levels in girls. At the environmental level, the significant factor associated with emotional/behavioral problems included relationship with the teacher. Conclusion: The emotional/behavioral problems of early adolescence are influenced not only by the individual factors but also by the environment factor. Therefore, the environment surrounding the adolescents should also be considered to prevent emotional/behavioral problems.

  • Purpose: This study aimed to improve nursing practice efficiency by analyzing and comparing the emotional labor, job stress, and performance of nurses in comprehensive nursing care wards and in general wards. Methods: The study surveyed 151 nurses in comprehensive nursing care and general wards. The results were analyzed by ${\chi}$ 2test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient. Results: There were no statistically significant differences in terms of emotional labor, job stress, and performance for the two different types of nurses. Statistically significant positive correlations were noted between job stress and emotional labor, nursing performance, emotional labor, and job stress in the comprehensive nursing care wards, and between job stress and emotional labor, and nursing performance in the general wards. Conclusion: A longer duration of direct nursing in comprehensive nursing care wards tended to increase, emotional labor and job stress. However, the quality of nursing provided to patients tended to improve. Therefore, it is necessary to establish an institutional plan for carrying out efficient nursing while reducing emotional labor and job stress among nurses in comprehensive nursing care wards.

  • The object of this study was to survey the relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition of participators in the self support program. The health condition which is recognized subjectively by participators could affect the participation motive and the attitude to the program, and could be connected to the achievement of self-support. Therefore I tried to survey the implications and the relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition in terms of progress for the economic self-support. The objectives were self-support program participators in Wonju, and 127 questionaries were collected. The results of this study were as followings; First, there was the positive relationship between emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition. Second, the participation period in the self-support program affected emotional self-support and the level of subjective health recognition negatively, and the affects of the ages were meaningless. The suggestion of this study is that the level of emotional self-support and subjective health recognition could be developed if the emotional and psychological program is developed which makes the conditional pensioners perceive the living attitude and the thoughts to the works positively.

  • The purpose of this study is to verify the mediating effects of psychological flexibility on the relationship between emotional dissonance and mental health(depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms) in university administration staff. For this study, a sample of 191 university administration staff completed the questionnaires. The data was analyzed using the SPSS program and Sobel Test. The results of the analysis are as follows: 1. Most of the university administration staff had difficulties with emotional dissonance(52.36%), depression(47.12%), anxiety(58.12%), and somatic symptoms(62.83%). 2. The risk group of emotional dissonance had a significantly higher level of depression, anxiety and somatic symptoms compared with the normal group. 3. Emotional dissonance and psychological flexibility had a significant effect on depression, anxiety and somatic symptoms. 4. The mediating effects of psychological flexibility on the relationship between emotional dissonance and mental health(depression, anxiety, somatic symptoms) was verified. Finally, We suggested the need to intervene in emotional labor and mental health in university administration staff and psychological flexibility as an intervention and prevention method.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to examine the influences of emotional intelligence and attitudes about death on hospice volunteers' perception of life as meaningful. Methods: In this study, 232 hospice volunteers who were serving at 3 university hospitals and 7 general hospitals for 6 months or longer. Data were collected using self-report questionnaires from January 20 to February 15, 2016. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, independent-tests, one way ANOVAs, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and multiple regression analyses with SPSS 21.0. Results: Hospice volunteers' perception of life as meaningful was positively correlated with their attitudes toward death and emotional intelligence. The significant predictors of perception of meaning were emotional intelligence, attitudes toward death, religion and perceived health status. These variables explained 41.0% of the variance in hospice volunteers' perception of life as meaningful. Conclusion: These results suggest that hospice volunteers perceptions of life as meaningful can be changed positively by increasing emotional intelligence and positive attitudes about death.

  • The current study examined the effects of socio-demographic characteristics and peer relations on the emotional, behavioral, and comorbid disorder symptoms among low-low-SES children, using the Young Lives Survey: an International Study of Childhood Poverty: Round 1, 2002. Participants were 1,000 8-year-old children (502 boys and 498 girls) from low-low-SES families. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, t-tests, post hoc test (Scheffe's method), correlations, and multiple logistic regression analyses according to the analysis strategy. There was a moderate correlation between selected socio-demographic variables and emotional/behavioral disorder symptoms, and the caregiver's marital status, child's health compared to others, child's work status corresponded to significant differences in their emotional/behavior levels. Regarding the logistic regression analysis, in addition to the effects of socio-demographic variables reflecting the characteristics of less-developed countries, marital status, child's working status, and conflicts with peers proved to be detrimental to emotional, behavioral, or comorbid disorder symptoms in low-SES children, who have been lack quality parenting, social resources, and child human rights. Results indicated the need to develop health care services that would address those problems and appropriate intervention and prevention programs targeting children in low-income families. Moreover, careful assessment and intervention for child's health status, child's working status and peer relationship problems are suggested as possible strategies for helping children at risk of exhibiting further problematic behaviors.

  • Objectives: The purpose of this study was to test the prescribed mediating effect of a sense of job oppression by considering the relationship between emotional labor and work satisfaction. Methods: This study was carried out using the data published in 2016 by the Korea Labor & Society Institute in An Investigation of Quality of Life and the Working Environment in the Service Industry. The data were collected from 638 workers at department stores. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, correlation, and multiple regression with Baron and Kenny steps for mediation. Results: After investigating the mediating effect of a sense of job oppression in the relationship between emotional labor and work satisfaction, it was confirmed that the effect was partially meaningful. It was also determined that the greater the intensity of their emotional labor was, the lower was their satisfaction with their working life. Additionally, the workers felt that the greater their sense of job oppression, the lower was their sense of satisfaction with work. Conclusions: In order to increase work satisfaction, it is required for guidelines for reducing job oppression and the intensity of emotional labor to be proposed or established.
