간호사의 감정노동, 직무만족도가 이직의도에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Emotional Labor, Job Satisfaction on Turnover in Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship among emotional labor, Job Satisfaction, Turnover in clinical nurses. Methods: A convenience sample of 136 registered nurses was obtained from a university General hospital in a city. Data were collected by a self-administered questionnaire during December, 2017. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, one-way ANOVA, Pearson correlations and multiple regression with SPSS/WIN 21.0. Results: The mean score for emotional labor was $3.65{\pm}0.32$, Job Satisfaction was $2.96{\pm}0.31$, and Turnover was $3.49{\pm}0.74$. In multivariate analysis, factors related to Turnover were emotional labor of nurse, Job Satisfaction. The explained variane for Turnover was 44.2%(F=114.35, p<.001). Conclusion: The results of the study indicate that emotional labor, Job Satisfaction have an effect on turnover of Nurses. Findings from this study indicate the need to evaluate and improve the intervention program for nurses to decrease Turnover.

간호사의 소진, 감정노동 및 긍정심리자본이 직무만족에 미치는 영향 (Influences of Burnout, Emotional labor, and Positive Psychological Capital on Job Satisfaction of Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to understand job satisfaction, burnout, emotional labor and positive psychological capital and to identify the factors that influence on job satisfaction in the hospital nurses. Methods: This study was conducted through a survey of 274 nurses at two hospitals in the D city, Korea. Data were collected in September 7 to September 23, 2016 using structured questionnaires which included general characteristics, burnout, job satisfaction, positive psychological capital and emotional labor. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, ANOVA, and stepwise multiple regression test with SPSS/WIN 22.0. Results: The score for job satisfaction was 3.03 out of 5. Job satisfaction was significantly correlated with burnout, emotional labor and positive psychological capital. The factors influencing job satisfaction were age, burnout, emotional labor and positive psychological capital. The predict variables accounted for 37.5% of job satisfaction. Conclusion: The results of this study show that factors influencing job satisfaction are burnout, emotional labor and positive psychological capital. Therefore, it is necessary to develop intervention programs to improve job satisfaction of nurses for emotional labor reduction and positive psychological capital improvement.

간호사가 인지한 서번트 리더십, 의사소통능력과 감정노동의 관계 (Correlations among Emotional Labor, Servant Leadership, and Communication Competence in Hospital Nurses)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to identify correlations among emotional labor, servant leadership, and communication competence in hospital nurses. Methods: A self-administrated survey was conducted with a convenient sample of 210 nurses, using a structured questionnaire. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient using SPSS/WIN 20.0 program. Results: The mean emotional labor score was $3.4{\pm}0.60$. There was very strong and negative correlation between emotional labor and servant leadership (r=-.896, p<.001). Communication competence was positively correlated with servant leadership (r=.298, p<.001) and moderately and negatively correlated with both frequency of emotional labor (r=-.166, p=.016) and the degree of attention to emotional expression (r=-.143, p=.039). Conclusion: As a strategy to reduce emotional labor of hospital nurses, the findings suggest training programs for nurses to enhance servant leadership and communication competence.

치과위생사의 근무특성과 환자유형에 따른 감정노동이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향 (Influence on Job Satisfaction of Emotional Labor Accordance to Working Properties and Patients Type of Dental Hygienist)

  • 본 연구는 치과위생사 269명의 근무특징과 환자유형에 따른 감정노동이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 조사하였다. 일반적인 특징에 따른 감정노동 전체평균은 2.85이며, 성별은 남성, 음주는 하는 경우 높았다. 일반적인 특징에 따른 직무만족도 전체평균 3.02이며 성별은 여성, 연령은 많은 경우, 결혼은 기혼이 높았다. 근무특성에 따른 감정노동은 치과위생사가 다른 직위보다 높았으며, 근무특성에 따른 직무만족도는 경력이 높을수록, 직위는 치과위생사, 수입은 많을수록 높았다. 환자유형별 감정노동은 남성환자, 연령은 20-64세, 진료시간대는 오후 7시 이후가 가장 높게 나타났다. 환자유형별 직무만족도는 환자연령은 65세 이상, 치료 종류는 치아우식 및 치주질환치료, 진료시간대는 오후 7시 이상, 경제수준은 '상'인 경우 높았다. 감정노동 정도에 따른 직무만족도는 감정노동이 '보통'일 때 상승하였으나 '높은군'에서는 가장 낮게 분석되었다. 근무특성, 환자유형, 감정노동이 직무만족도에 미치는 영향을 알아보기 위한 위계적 회귀분석결과 월 수입이 많은집단(t=1.994, p=.047), 환자나이가 많은집단(t=3.027, p=.003), 감정노동이 낮을수록(t=13.858, p=.000) 직무만족도가 높은 것으로 나타났다. 즉 치과위생사들의 직무만족도를 높이기 위해선 감정노동이나 환자의 특성을 고려하여 쾌적한 근무환경을 위한 노력이 이루어져야 할 것이다.

노인환자 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대한 간호사의 윤리적 태도와 정서상태 (Nurses' Emotional Responses and Ethical Attitudes towards Elderly Patients' DNR Decision)

  • 목적: 본 연구는 노인환자 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대한 간호사의 윤리적 태도와 정서상태를 파악하여 생의 말기에 있는 노인환자가 인간으로서의 존엄성을 유지하도록 돕고, 심폐소생술금지 상황에 효과적으로 대처할 수 있는 간호사의 윤리적 태도와 정서상태의 지지체계를 구축하기 위한 기초자료를 제시하고자 한다. 방법: 본 연구는 2011년 8월 1일부터 9월 15일까지 M시에 소재하고 있는 3개의 노인요양병원과 3개의 종합병원에 근무하고 있는 간호사 153명을 대상으로 실시하였으며 수집된 자료는 SPSS WIN Program을 사용하여 실수와 백분율, 평균과 표준편차, Pearson's Correlation Coefficients로 분석하였다. 결과: 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대한 간호사의 윤리적 태도 평균은 2.68/4점이었으며, 가장 높은 점수를 받은 항목은 '심폐소생술금지 환자의 치료범위는 심폐소생술은 시행하지 않지만 다른 치료는 전과 마찬가지로 최선을 다하여 행하는 것이 옳다($3.23{\pm}0.57$)'이며 가장 낮은 점수를 받은 항목은 '심폐소생술금지가 선언된 후 의사들이 환자에게 관심이 줄어드는 것은 당연하다($2.12{\pm}0.63$)'였다. 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대한 간호사의 정서상태 평균은 2.36/4점이었으며, 가장 높은 점수를 받은 항목은 '이해하고 공감한다($2.91{\pm}0.52$)'이며 가장 낮은 점수를 받은 항목은 '불쾌하게 느낀다($2.03{\pm}0.60$)'였다. 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대한 간호사의 윤리적 태도와 정서상태에 대한 상관관계를 분석한 결과 두 변수간의 유의한 상관관계는 나타나지 않았다(r=-0.12, P=0.13). 결론: 노인환자의 심폐소생술금지 결정에 대해 간호사의 윤리적 태도는 비교적 높고 정서상태는 약간 긍정적인 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같은 요인들은 대상자 특성, 지역사회 및 환경, 문화적 특성 등에 많은 영향을 받을 수 있으므로 앞으로 각각의 변수별로 세분화된 후속연구 및 반복연구를 제언한다.

의과대학생의 정서지능이 공감에 미치는 영향 (The Influence of Emotional Intelligence on Empathy in Medical Students)

  • Objective : The purpose of this study was to examine the influence of subscales of emotional intelligence on empathy in first-year medical students. Methods : A total of 215 first-year medical students were eligible for this study. Demographic factors (age, sex, and medical school entrance type) and measures for emotional intelligence and empathy, such as the Wong and Law Emotional Intelligence Scale and the Interpersonal Reactivity Index, were included in the survey. The relationship between emotional intelligence and empathy was analyzed by multiple linear regression, adjusting for age, sex, and entrance type. Results : The female students' level of emotional intelligence was higher than the male students for the self-emotional appraisal (p=0.029) and others' emotional appraisal (p=0.006) subscales. Meanwhile, the graduate-entry students scored higher for the use of emotion (p<0.001) and regulation of emotion (p=0.010) subscales than the direct-entry students. For empathy, the female students revealed a higher score in empathic concern (p=0.009) than the male students, and graduate-entry students scored higher than the direct-entry students in perspective taking (p=0.004) and empathic concern (p<0.001). The multiple linear regression analysis has identified significant influences of subscales of emotional intelligence on empathy: others' emotional appraisal on perspective taking (p<0.001), self-emotional appraisal (p=0.035) and regulation of emotion (p=0.023) on fantasy, others' emotional appraisal (p<0.001) and use of emotion (p=0.020) on empathic concern, and self-emotional appraisal (p=0.033) and regulation of emotion (p<0.001) on personal distress. Conclusion : This study's findings suggest that emotional intelligence may affect empathy in medical students, which can have implications for developing educational strategies to enhance empathetic attitudes in medical students.

초등학생의 월경 지식, 초경 정서, 월경 태도와 대처 행위 (Knowledge of Menstruation, Emotional Reaction to Menarche, Attitude toward Menstruation and Coping Behavior among Korean Primary School Students)

  • Purpose: The purposes of this study were to identify Korean primary school students' knowledge of menstruation, their emotional reaction to menarche, the attitude toward menstruation and coping behaviors. Method: A cross-sectional survey design was employed in this study. The subjects were 200 female students who were recruited from 5th and 6th grade in five primary schools in J city, Korea. Data was collected by a structured questionnaire. Result: About forty-four percent of the subjects had experiences with menarche. The mean age of menarche was 12.4. The mean score of the students' knowledge of menstruation was 2.26 on a seven point scale. The mean scores of the emotional reaction to menarche and the attitude toward menstruation were 3.20 and 3.74 on a five point scale, respectively. Knowledge of menstruation was significantly related with a positive emotional reaction to menarche and a positive attitude toward menstruation. Also, there were significant differences in the knowledge of menstruation, the emotional reaction to menarche and attitude of menstruation among female students with positive coping behaviors and those without positive coping behaviors. Conclusion: Beyond the simple transference of knowledge, girls need to also be given mental and emotional support in order to minimize emotional and socio-psychological problems caused by early menarche.

림프부종 환자의 정서상태와 관련요인 (Factors Influencing the Emotional State of Patients with Lymphedema)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to investigate the emotional state and related factors in patients with lymphedema. Methods: The subjects of this study consisted of 95 patients with lymphedema at 8 hospitals in Busan and Seoul. Data was collected by a self-administered questionnaire between March 2001 to December 2001. Data was analyzed by Pearson correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS Win 12.0. Results: The mean score of the emotional state of the subjects was 3.06; of their physical symptoms, 1.84; of their Activities of Daily Living(ADLs), 2.30; and of their social activities, 3.67. The emotional states of lymphedema patients correlated with their physical symptoms, their ADLs, and their social activities. The Factor influencing the emotional state of the subjects was social activities. Conclusion: These results suggest that a negative emotional state is very common in patients with lymphedema, to which appropriate attention should be given. Rehabilitation programs must be implemented to improve lymphedema patients' emotional state, physical symptoms, ADLs, and social activities.

간호대학생의 임상실습 감정노동, 자아존중감, 실습만족도가 직업정체감에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Emotional Labor of Clinical Practice, Self-esteem and Clinical Practice Satisfaction on Professional Identity in Nursing Students)

  • Purpose: This study was conducted to explore the factors affecting emotional labor, self-esteem and clinical practice satisfaction on professional identity in nursing students. Methods: A total of 262 nursing students participated in the study. Data were analyzed using SPSSWIN 18.0. Results: The mean scores for emotional labor, self-esteem, clinical practice satisfaction and professional identity were above-average. There were significant mean differences in professional identity according to ages, academic score, motivation for selecting nursing, satisfaction with college life and satisfaction with nursing majors. Professional identity correlated positively with self-esteem and clinical practice satisfaction, negatively with emotional labor. The significant predictors of professional identity included satisfaction with nursing majors, self-esteem, emotional labor and motivation for selecting nursing. The regression model explained 38.9% of professional identity. Conclusion: To enhance professional identity in nursing students, it is necessary to build effective strategic to focus on promoting their satisfaction with the nursing major, self-esteem and management of emotional labor.

성별에 따른 대학생의 스트레스 대처방식과 정서적 섭식의 관계 연구 (The Relationship between Coping Style for Stress and Emotional Eating Behavior by Gender Difference)

  • This study examined the relationship between coping style for stress and emotional eating behavior focused on gender difference. A total of 475 college students(males, 244; females, 231) participated in this study. The results were as follows. First, there were significant gender difference in coping style for stress. The scores of male students were significantly higher than those of female students in the problem-focused and self-comforting coping styles, whereas scores of female students were significantly higher than male students in social support pursuit and emotion-focused coping styles. Second, there were significant gender difference in emotional eating behavior. Female students reported higher emotional eating behavior than male students. Third, male students preferred a problem-focused coping style, whereas female students preferred a social support pursuit coping style the most. Fourth, the interaction of gender and coping style for stress were not related to the emotional eating behavior. Both of male and female students who preferred an emotion focused coping style reported the highest score in emotional eating behavior. The limitations of the present study and suggestions for future research were discussed.
