In this study, the influence of mothers' parenting behaviors on children's strategies and competence of emotional regulation was examined. Further, the mediating effects of children's active-social support seeking and aggressive strategies on the above relationship were explored. The participants were W mother-child pairs. The children were 5th and 6th graders at two elementary schools in Kyunggi province and Kwangju metropolitan area The data were analyzed with descriptive statistics, factor analysis, Cronbach's alpha, Pearson correlations, standard multiple regressions and structural equation modeling analysis by LISREL 8.3. The main results of this study were as follows: (1) The more the mothers coached children with affection and reasoning, the more adaptive emotional regulation the children had; whereas children tended to have maladaptive emotional regulation in response to the mothers' rejecting and forceful parenting behaviors. Also, when children were coached by mothers with love, reasoning and consistent restriction, they used more active-social support seeking strategies, whereas they used more aggressive strategies when the mothers coached children with rejecting and forceful parenting behaviors. The more the mothers were rejecting, forceful and intervening, the more the children used passive-avoidant strategies. (2) The more the children used active-social support seeking strategies and the less the children used aggressive strategies, the more likely they had adaptive emotional regulation. The more the children used aggressive strategies, the more likely they had maladaptive emotional regulation. (3) Children's active-social support seeking strategies played a partial mediating role between mothers' affectionate and reasoned coaching and children's adaptive emotional regulation. These strategies, on the other hand, played a full mediating role between mothers' consistent restriction and children's adaptive emotional regulation. Children's aggressive strategies played a partial mediating role between mothers' rejecting and forceful parenting behaviors and children's maladaptive emotional regulation. Mothers' non-intervention had an influence on neither the children's aggressive strategies nor their maladaptive emotional regulation.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship of teachers' surface acting in emotional labor, emotional support from supervisor, colleagues and parents, and teachers' burnout in kindergartens and childcare centers. The subjects were 208 teachers worked in kindergartens or childcare centers in Daegu and Gyeongbuk Province. The data were analyzed by mean of hierarchial regression, using SPSS Win 15.0. The results of this study are as follows. (1) Teachers' surface acting in emotional labor was positively associated with teachers' burnout. (2) Emotional support from supervisor, colleagues and parents was negatively associated with teachers' burnout. (3) There were interactional effects between teachers' surface acting in emotional labor and supervisors' emotional support to teachers' burnout. (4) There were interactional effects between teachers' surface acting in emotional labor and parents' emotional support to teachers' burnout.
The purpose of this study was to analyze the effects of young children's playfulness, emotional control, and emotional instability on their peer play behavior, focusing on age differences. A total of 209 4- and 5-year-old children attending a child care center in South Korea participated in this study. The instruments used in this study were the Playfulness Scale, Emotion Regulation Checklist, and Penn Interactive Peer Play Scale. The collected data were analyzed using a Student's t-test, Pearson's partial correlation, and stepwise regressions with the SPSS software ver. 16.0. The main results of this study are as follows: First, there was a significant age difference in young children's emotional control, emotional instability, playfulness and peer play behavior. Second, the factors of emotional control and playfulness significantly predicted young children's play interaction irrespective of age. Third, the factors of emotional instability and playfulness significantly predicted young children's play disruption and play disconnection. Further, implications for the use of early intervention targeting specific emotional control and emotional instability problems have been discussed.
Objectives : This study aimed to investigate the levels of emotional labor and occupational stress and their relationships in dental counselors to improve psychological health related with dental counseling. Methods : The questionnaire survey was conducted to 167 dental counselors working at dental clinics in Busan and Gyeongsangnam-do from June to August, 2012. The study used emotional labor questionnaires and Korean Occupational Job Stress Scale (Basic Version, KOSS-43) as an assessment scale. All respondents were asked to complete a self-administered questionnaire. Data analysis was performed with descriptive analysis, t-test, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis using SAS(ver 9.2). Results : The levels of occupational stress and emotional labor in dental counselors were $47.26{\pm}8.36$ and $3.45{\pm}0.47$. Three subscales of emotional labor as frequency of emotional expression, attention of emotional expression norms and disharmony of emotion were related with occupational stress in dental counselors. The level of job stress was increased by the lower level of emotional expression and increased by the higher levels of emotional expression and disharmony of emotion. Conclusions : In addition to increasing the number of counselors, nurturing counseling workforce is essential to manage the job stress of dental counselors. Sufficient counseling with a patient in a comfortable counseling environment is important to reduce the job stress by emotional labor. Continuous service improvement through positive emotional service education is necessary to be implemented for counselors.
This paper is 1) to find out what make cause in the emotional labor and emotional dissonance on hotel employee, 2) to investigate relationship between burnout and turnover intention on the personal character, 3) finally to suggest strategical implications for hotel management decision-maker. The questionnaires are distributed 400 on hotel employees, then used for data analysis 351. The results are as followed. First, the higher surface acting, deep acting, and emotional deviance in the emotional labor, the higher emotional dissonance. But the higher expression of natural emotions, it was showed lowly in the emotional dissonance. Second, the higher emotional dissonance, it was revealed highly burnout and turnover intention.

This study was conducted as descriptive research to examine the relations among beauty business workers' professional identity, emotional labor and depression, to analyze factors that influence their depression, and to provide basic information necessary to develop interventions for beauty business workers' depression. The subjects of this study were 158 beauty business workers sampled from 25 beauty shops in Seoul. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire during the period from April 12 to May 13, 2011. From the collected data were obtained real numbers, percentages, and the means and standard deviations of professional identity, emotional labor and depression using the SPSS 16.0 Program. In addition, multiple regression analysis was performed to determine the correlations among the variables and to identify factors influencing the beauty business workers' depression. In the results of multiple regression analysis on factors that influence the subjects' depression, factors found to explain their depression were autonomy among the sub factors of professional identity, and the diversity of emotional expressions and surface acting among the sub factors of emotional labor, and these factors explained 23.6% of their depression. The subjects' professional identity was in a positive correlation with the frequency of emotional expressions and deep acting among the sub factors of emotional labor, and in a negative correlation with surface acting and depression. The Frequency of emotional expression and the diversity of emotional expressions which the sub factors of emotional labor were in a negative correlation with depression and in a positive correlation with surface acting and depression. In order to relieve beauty business workers from their depression based on these results, there should be education or programs for establishing beauty business workers' professional identity and program for increasing of emotional expressions and decreasing of surface acting.
Purpose - In recent years, management scholars have expressed growing interest in the concept of person-Job fit because of having many benefits for employees' attitudes and behaviors. The related research is needed to determine what specific types of fit are related to each other, and to get important individual outcomes. Person-job fit of employees in service organization plays an important role in company as well as person in service industry. Person-job fit, representing the consistency between person (service provider) and job (service provided to the customers), gives significant and positive effects on the attitude and behavior of service provider. On the basis of the study background, the purpose of this study is as follows. First, we would like to examine the effects of person-job fit of service provider on their emotional intelligence. Emotional intelligence is divided into four sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, we would like to identify the relationships between job satisfaction and sub-factors such as self-understanding, understanding others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Research design, data, and methodology - We performed structural equation model using Spss 18.0 and Amos 20.0 in order to verify the hypotheses. Subjects were golf service assistants who were high-touching service with high degree in interaction and long contact time with customers. 178 out of the total 200 surveys were used in evaluation from helpers of golf service working as full-time service provider after selecting two locations of golf course located near Busan. From the evaluation of reliability and validity with variables used in this research, they satisfied and confirmed certain standard. Results - The results are as follows. First, as the results of identifying the relationships between person-job fit and emotional intelligence of service provider, person-job fit did not have positive and significant effect on self-understanding. On the other hand, it affected positively and significantly other factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation. Second, as the results of identifying the relationship between emotional intelligence and job satisfaction, sub-factors in emotional intelligence such as emotion to others, emotional utilization, and emotional regulation except self-emotion affected significantly and positively job satisfaction. However, self-emotion did not have significant and positive effects on job satisfaction. Conclusion - These results will be valuable and used for service providers. In addition, many service providers will recognize that person-job fit is very important to get a job. This research has a purpose on the assumption that appropriateness between individual and task in service industry shall act as major influence in emotional intelligence of service provider. Recognitive ability of service provider is also very important per characteristics of service, but emotional intelligence that interacts and connected directly with most customers can be a very meaningful factor as well. Emotional intelligence allows people to recognize, understand, and empathize the emotion of customers shall be a positive reinforcement for customers to evaluate the service ultimately.
This study examined the effects of emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Data were collected from 246 early childhood teachers. To collect the data, emotional intelligence, teaching efficacy, job stress, and happiness instruments were used. All research variables were measured using self-reported questionnaires, and were analyzed with one-way ANOVA, t-test, Pearson's correlation and pathway analysis. The results indicated teachers' happiness had no difference by demographic variables. Emotional intelligence had a direct effect and an indirect effect through teaching efficacy and job stress on happiness among early childhood teachers. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a direct effect on happiness among early childhood teachers. Additionally, emotional intelligence was the most important variable predicting early childhood teachers' happiness. Teaching efficacy and job stress had a mediating effect between emotional intelligence and happiness.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the levels of emotional intelligence, and convergent nurses' work environment and to identify the effects of emotional intelligence and convergent nurses' work environment on nursing performance among clinical nurses as career-beginners. The study subject was a total of 95 clinical nurses as career-beginners that were recruited from three hospitals. Descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, Pearson correlation coefficient and stepwise multiple regression with SPSS 21.0 program were used to analyze the data. The study results had shown significant correlations of emotional intelligence, and convergent nurses' work environment and regulator of emotional and leadership had explanation power 28.0% of nursing performance. We should consider the methods to enhance regulator of personal emotional and improve leadership of administrators for nursing performance. Therefore, the results can be used as basic data to develop nursing performance improvement program and the strategies for clinical nurses as career-beginners.
The purpose of this study was to investigate the relationship between emotional labor, job burnout and job satisfaction in instructors. The data were collected from 323 fitness center instructors using multistage stratified cluster random sampling method. With the collected data, factor analysis, reliability analysis, frequency analysis, correlation analysis, model fit tested, and structural equation model were performed by SPSS 23.0 and AMOS 20.0. The result of the analysis were summarized as follows. First, the emotional labor(inner behavior) impacts negative influence on job burnout of fitness center instructors. Second, the emotional labor(surface behavior) impacts positive influence on job satisfaction of fitness center instructors. Third, the job burnout impacts negative influence on job satisfaction of fitness center instructors. Fourth, the emotional labor(inner behavior) impacts positive influence on job satisfaction of fitness center instructors. Fifth, the emotional labor(surface behavior) does not influence on job satisfaction of fitness center instructors.
