  • Purpose: The objective of this study was to identify factors related to self-care adherence in symptomatic patients with heart failure (HF). Methods: Using a cross-sectional design, a convenience sample 209 outpatient clinic patients were recruited at two medical centers. Between October 2011 and August 2012, data were collected using the structured questionnaire. Factors related to self-care adherence were examined using hierarchical multiple regression. Results: Mean age of participants was 67.71 years and a half of them (53.6%) were female. They showed relatively low self-care adherence with mean scores of $61.88{\pm}12.92$. Lower self-care adherence was reported in asking for low sodium items, weighing oneself, checking for ankle edema, and exercising for 30 minutes. The overall model significantly explained 23.9% of variance in self-care adherence. Among the predictors, education, New York Heart Association functional classification, and social support were statistically significant in influencing self-care adherence. The variable of negative emotional status such as anxiety and depression were not found to be significant. Conclusion: These findings demonstrate that social support could help self-care adherence among symptomatic patients with HF. Thus, programs targeting self-care adherence in this population should consider the strategies improving social support.

  • As game players have been more diverse and new features of digital games have been emerged in recent days, it is important to find out and understand how recent game players recognize and classify digital games. Thirty game players conducted Q-analysis of twenty-nine Q-statements extracted from previous studies on game typology. By using a QUANL program, three different types were revealed. For game classification, 'Physical Environment Centric Players' type highly values external game elements from the outside perspectives. 'Contents Centric Players' type considers internal game elements as the most important criterion. 'Emotional Experience Centric Players' type values his/her subjective feeling and thoughts. Based on this study, it is expected to make a contribution in developing a framework of game players with their perspectives on game classification.

  • In this study, we propose a novel research framework for the recommendation system that can estimate the user's emotional state and reflect it in the recommendation process by applying deep learning techniques and emotion AI (artificial intelligence). To this end, we build an emotion classification model that classifies each of the seven emotions of angry, disgust, fear, happy, sad, surprise, and neutral, respectively, and propose a model that can reflect this result in the recommendation process. However, in the general emotion classification data, the difference in distribution ratio between each label is large, so it may be difficult to expect generalized classification results. In this study, since the number of emotion data such as disgust in emotion image data is often insufficient, correction is made through augmentation. Lastly, we propose a method to reflect the emotion prediction model based on data through image augmentation in the recommendation systems.

  • Given the development of information technology, various methods for efficient information delivery have been constructed as the method of delivering product information moves from offline and 2D to online and 3D. These attempts not only are about delivering product information in an online space where no real product exists but also play a crucial role in diversifying and revitalizing online shopping by providing virtual experiences to consumers. 360 product image is a photorealistic VR that allows a subject to be rotated and photographed to view objects in three dimensions. 360 product image has also attracted considerable attention considering that it can deliver richer information about an object compared with the existing still image photography. 360 product image is influenced by divergent production factors, and accordingly, a difference emerges in the responses of users. However, as the history of technology is short, related research is also insufficient. Therefore, this study aimed to grasp the responses of users, which vary depending on the type of products and the number of source images in the 360 product image process. To this end, a representative product among the product groups that can be frequently found in online shopping malls was selected to produce a 360 product image and experiment with 75 users. The emotional responses to the 360 product image were analyzed through an experimental questionnaire to which the semantic classification method was applied. The results of this study could be used as basic data to understand and grasp the sensitivity of consumers to 360 product image.

  • In this study, emotional analysis was conducted based on the basic attribute data of music and the emotional model in psychology, and the result was applied to the visualization rules in the formative arts. In the existing studies using musical parameter, there were many cases with more practical purposes to classify, search, and recommend music for people. In this study, the focus was on enabling sound data to be used as a material for creating artworks and used for aesthetic expression. In order to study the music visualization as an art form, a method that can include human emotions should be designed, which is the characteristics of the arts itself. Therefore, a well-structured basic classification of musical attributes and a classification system on emotions were provided. Also, through the shape, color, and animation of the visual elements, the visualization of the musical elements was performed by reflecting the subdivided input parameters based on emotions. This study can be used as basic data for artists who explore a field of music visualization, and the analysis method and work results for matching emotion-based music components and visualizations will be the basis for automated visualization by artificial intelligence in the future.

  • A linguistic element found in a movie, dialogue, plays a critical role in building up narrative structure. Still, analyses conducted on movies mostly focus on images due to the nature of a movie that conveys a story through its visual images while dialogue has either been underestimated or received less spotlight despite their importance. This study highlights the significance of lines in a movie. This study calls attention to dialogue, which has stayed out of the main focus and been on the periphery thus far when analyzing movies, so as to see how they contribute to constructing a narrative. It then spotlights the significance of dialogue in the movie. To this end, the study sorts out emotional expressions articulated by actors through their dialogues then to make polarity classification into affirmation and negation, followed by a quantitative analysis of how the polarity proportion of emotional expressions changes depending on the narrative structure. The study also suggests a narrative's relevance with emotions by pointing to dynamic emotional changes that shift between affirmation and negation depending on incidents, conflicts and resolution thereof throughout a movie.
