This study investigated the effects of emotional labor and resilience on burnout of long-term care hospital nurses. The study was conducted in D, B, and G cities, from May 23 2019 to June 5, 2019, enrolling 195 long-term care hospital nurses who had been on duty since 6 months. Means, standard deviations, Pearson correlation coefficients, t-tests, ANOVA, and multiple regression analysis of the SPSS 21.0 statistical program were applied for analyzing the data. Emotional labor (r= 0.476, p<0.005) and resilience (r= -0.416, p<0.005) showed significant differences associated with burnout in the long-term care hospital nurses, with all variables showing significant correlation. Regression analysis revealed that emotional labor (β= 0.37, p<0.001) and resilience (β= 0.17, p<0.048) were significant variables affecting the burnout of long-term care hospital nurses, and these variables explained 25.5% of adaptation to their burnout (F=23.51, p<0.001). Based on the results of this study, we propose the necessity to develop and utilize a program to manage emotional labor and resilience as a way to improve adaption for long-term care hospital nurses.

The purpose of this study was to identify the extent of and relationships among emotional labor, job stress, burnout and turnover intention and the factors influencing the turnover intention of care workers at long-term care hospitals. The study was approved by KUIRS, and the data were collected from August 12 to September 30, 2015, and analyzed using the SPSS WIN 18.0 program. The participants of this study were 200 care workers at ten different long-term care hospitals in B city and G province. Data were collected through self-reported questionnaires and analyzed by descriptive statistics, the t-test, ANOVA, Pearson's correlation coefficients, and Stepwise multiple regression. The turnover intention was significantly correlated with emotional labor (r=.372, p<.001), job stress (r=.471, p<.001), and burnout (r=.411, p<.001). In the multiple regression, job stress (${\beta}=.290$, p<.001), burnout (${\beta}=.239$, p<.001), type of employment (${\beta}=.185$, p<.001), and emotional labor (${\beta}=.157$, p=.017) were identified as factors influencing the turnover intention. These factors explained 32.6% of the total variance in the turnover intention. Based on the results, in order to reduce the turnover intention, the improvement of work environment and clear job-descriptions are needed to reduce the job stress, and the development and implementation of proactive psycho-social interventions are necessary to reduce burnout and emotional labor in care workers at long-term care hospitals.

The purpose of this study was to examine the effect of subordinates' emotional labor on job burnout and job engagement, and verify whether job crafting moderates the relationships between emotional labor and job related attitudes. A total of 301 employees working at various companies in Korea participated in an on-line survey and the data were examined by statistical analysis. The results showed that surface acting positively affected job burnout. It was found that deep acting positively affected job engagement, while negatively affecting job burnout. The results also demonstrated that job crafting moderated the relationship between surface acting and job engagement. It is suggested that employees' proactive behaviors designed to relieve the stress of work can mitigate the negative effect of emotional behavior. On the basis of the results, the implications and future research directions were discussed.

The present study examined the relationships of emotional labor, job satisfaction and burnout in medical technologists working at university hospitals. The study subjects were 145 medical technologists and health information technicians working at 4 university hospitals. The investigation was conducted using a standardized self-administered questionnaire from April 10-19, 2013. As a result of hierarchical multiple regression, the socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behavior factors, job-related factors, emotional labor and job satisfaction were selected as significant variables and related variables affecting the level of burnout. The descriptive power of these variables(socio-demographic characteristics, health-related behavior factor) was 21.7%, especially it can be seen that emotional labor and job satisfaction variable input 16.8% and 8.2% increase explanatory power respectively.
The purpose of this work is to examine how work stressors are related to the burnout among staff in long-term care facilities for the elderly. This study offers some responses to a growing stress and burnout for the long-term care workers. The demand for long-term care workers is set to rise in light of an increasing share of older people and dependent elderly. Long-term care workers provide long-term care services to persons with a reduced degree of functional, physical or cognitive capacity. Cross-sectional survey data were collected from 216 staff in long-term care facilities. The standardised Maslach Burnout Inventory(MBI) was used to assess levels of burnout in long-term care workers. The MBI consists of 22 items using a 5-point Likert scale, measuring three sub-scales of burnout; Emotional exhaustion, Depersonalization, and Personal accomplishment. Data were analyzed using regression. This study is empirically tested the degree of association between burnout and its antecedents. The majority of differences in burnout could be explained by work stressors such as client relationship, job overload, job role conflict, and conflicts with clients' family. The study also identified workers' perceptions of their image in society and emotional support as predictors of burnout. Therefore long-term care facilities are encouraged to review their practices so that workers well-being is supported. The study findings suggest attention for organizational oriented initiatives to cope with burnout.
In order to understand job burnout, it is necessary to consider not only the working environment according to the market environment but also the social situation of the team or the organization. This study analyzed the effects of job demands and job resources on job burnout based on JD-R theory. In other words, the team-level variables, servant leadership and HRM control types, were tested for the effect of moderating the individual workload, emotional labor and job burnout. The results of empirical analysis showed that the higher the self-efficacy, the less job burnout, whereas the higher the workload and emotional labor, the more job burnout. Second, the more positive the team level input and result oriented HRM are, the less positive regression relation of workload and job burnout is. Finally, it was found that the intensity of the regression relation of negative self-efficacy and job burnout was amplified in the team with servant leadership.
The purpose of this study is to explore the relative influence of psychological well-being and social support on the burnout of infant care teachers. Participants were 194 infant care teachers from 52 infant daycare centers in Gyeong-gi-do. Psychological burnout was assessed by the Maslach Burnout Inventory(Lee, 2011), psychological well-being was measured by the Psychological well-being scale(Cho & Cha, 2001) and social support was measured by the social support questionnaire(Bak, 1985). Date were analyzed using descriptive statistics and analysis, t-test, Pearson's correlation analysis, and multiple regression analysis. The major results of this study were as follows; First, there were differences in burnout in terms of marital status, work experiences, classroom operation type and income. Second, Infant care teachers' burnout was negatively correlated with psychological well-being and social support. Third, the most influential factor on infant care teachers' burnout was purpose in life, the second most influential factor was self-acceptance, the third most influential factor was emotional support, and the least influential factor was environmental mastery. Results of this study indicate that a psychological well-being enhancement program should be developed and emotional support from a social relationship network should be enhanced in order to prevent infant care teachers' burnout.

The purpose of this study was to obtain data to improve customer orientation by managing emotional labor in foodservice employees. This study investigated the correlation between emotional labor (surface acting, deep acting), job burnout (emotional exhaustion, cynicism), and job engagement (vigor, dedication, absorption) in high school foodservice employees, and how they affect customer orientation. Our survey was administered to 330 school foodservice employees in the Busan area from June 2 to June 27, 2015. A total of 321 questionnaires were used for final analysis. The mean values for deep acting (p<0.01), cynicism (p<0.01), and dedication (p<0.05) significantly according to the position of the emproyees. The mean customer orientation significantly according to employment status (p<0.01) and meal service time (p<0.01). There was positive correlation (p<0.01) between surface acting, and emotional exhaustion cynicism, but negative correlation (p<0.01) between surface acting and vigor, dedication, absorption, and customer orientation. Deep acting had negative correlation (p<0.01) with emotional exhaustion and cynicism, positive correlation (p<0.05) with vigor, dedication, absorption, and customer orientation. Surface acting had negative influences on emotional exhaustion and cynicism, cynicism had negative influences on vigor, dedication, absorption, and customer orientation. Deep acting had positive influences on absorption and customer orientation, absorption had positive influences on customer orientation. Thus, nutrition teacher(dietitian) should educate foodservice employees the positive effects of deep acting to change their surface acting to deep acting, while actively managing internal customers.
