  • It is still very difficult to generate a geometry model and finite element model, which has complex and many free surface, even though 3D CAD solutions are applied. Furthermore, in the medical field, which is a big growth area of recent years, there is no drawing. For these reasons, making a geometry model, which is used in finite element analysis, is very difficult. To resolve these problems and satisfy the requests of the need to create a 3D digital file for an object where none had existed before, new technologies are appeared recently. Among the recent technologies, there is a growing interest in the availability of fast, affordable optical range laser scanning. The development of 3D laser scan technology to obtain 3D point cloud data, made it possible to generate 3D model of complex object. To generate CAD and finite element model using point cloud data from 3D scanning, surface reconstruction applications have widely used. In the early stage, these applications have many difficulties, such as data handling, model creation time and so on. Recently developed point-based surface generation applications partly resolve these difficulties. However there are still many problems. In case of large and complex object scanning, generation of CAD and finite element model has a significant amount of working time and effort. Hence, we concerned developing a good direct finite element model generation method using point cloud's location coordinate value to save working time and obtain accurate finite element model.

  • A computer program for free vibration analysis of plane framed structures has been developed by object oriented programming technique using C" language. The object oriented programming concepts such as object, class, method and inheritance are represented. The static and free vibration analyses for framed structures were satisfactorily performed by this program which consists of TOP, VECTOR, MATRIX, STRU, GUI and other classes. Numerical test shows the validity and capability of the present study which can be expandable to develop a general purpose object oriented finite element analysis program of structures ,res ,

  • 본 논문에서는 CORBA(Common Object Request Architecture)기반의 TINA(Telecommunications Information Networking Architecture) 분산체계에서 통신망 하부 장비들이 SNMP(Simple Network Management Protocol) 혹은 TMN(Telecommunications Management Network) 체계로 혼재되어 관리되는 네트워크의 NE(Network Element)들을 효율적으로 통합 관리할 수 있는 Generic Interface Adaptor(GIA)를 제안하고 이를 설계 및 구현하였다.

  • Here in the present paper. A methodology for understanding scenes which includes moving objects in it, in the framework of notion of concepts. First by conceptualizing, understanding an object which is an element of a scene will be described. Then how to know the direction to which that object is heading will be discussed. Further, the methodology proposed, for understanding conceptually the motion of an object will be described utilizing the above knowledge of direction.

  • Magnetic resonance current density imaging (MRCDI) is a useful method for measuring electrical current density distribution inside an object. To avoid object rotations during the conventional MRCDI scans, we have reconstructed current density component images by applying a spatial filter to the magnetic field data measured both inside and outside the object. To measure the magnetic field outside the object with MRI, we immersed the object in a water tank. To evaluate accuracy of the current density imaging, we have made a conductivity phantom with a corresponding finite element method model. We have compared the experimentally obtained current density images with the ones calculated by the finite element method. The average errors of the reconstructed current density images were 6.6 ∼ 45.4 % when the injected currents were 1 ∼ 24 mA. We expect that the current density component imaging technique can be used in diverse biomedical applications such as electrical therapy system developments and biological electrical safety analysis.

  • Fonts have developed as a visual element, and their influence has rapidly increased around the world. Research on font automation is actively being conducted mainly in English because Hangul is a combination character and the structure is complicated. In the previous study to solve this problem, the stroke element of the character was automatically extracted by applying the object detection by component. However, the previous research was only for similarity, so it was tested on various print style fonts, but it has not been tested on other characters. In order to extract the stroke elements of all characters and fonts, we performed a performance analysis experiment according to the expansion character in the Hangul stroke element extraction training. The results were all high overall. In particular, in the font expansion type, the extraction success rate was high regardless of having done the training or not. In the character expansion type, the extraction success rate of trained characters was slightly higher than that of untrained characters. In conclusion, for the perfect Hangul stroke element extraction model, we will introduce Semi-Supervised Learning to increase the number of data and strengthen it.

  • Accurate and fast haptic simulations of deformable objects are desired in many applications such as medical virtual reality. In haptic interactions with a coarse model, the number of nodes near the haptic interaction region is too few to generate detailed deformation. Thus, local refinement techniques need to be developed. Many approaches have employed purely geometric subdivision schemes, but they are not proper in describing the deformation behavior of deformable objects. This paper presents a continuum mechanics-based finite element adaptive method to perform haptic interaction with a deformable object. This method superimposes a local fine mesh upon a global coarse model, which consists of the entire deformable object. The local mesh and the global mesh are coupled by the s-version finite element method (s-FEM), which is generally used to enhance accurate solutions near the target points even more. The s-FEM can demonstrate a reliable deformation to users in real-time.
