  • In this paper, evaluation method of structural integrity of cylindrical composite lattice structures was conducted. A finite element analysis was used to evaluate the structural integrity of composite lattice structures. In order to verify the optimal finite element in the evaluation of the structural integrity, finite element models for cylindrical composite lattice structure were generated using beam, shell and solid elements. The results of the finite element analyses with the shell and solid element models showed a good agreement. However, considerable differences were found between the beam element model and the shell and solid models. This occurred because the beam element does not take into account the degradation of the mechanical properties of the non-intersection parts of cylindrical composite lattice structures. It was found that the finite element analysis of evaluation of structural integrity for cylindrical composite lattice structures have to use solid element.

  • The high Tc phase disappeared and low Tc phase increased in the substitution of transistion elements for Bi ions. The high Tc phase decreased in the substitution of Si and Sn for Bi ions. The high Tc phase increased in the substitution of Sb, As and P Which Were the same group of Bi for Bi ions. The substitution of P ions was the most effective and then the high Tc phase was formed in large quantity by replacing Bi ions with 30%of P ions.

  • An electrostatic discharge (ESD) or a noise supplied from the outside has an effect on communication between the timing controller (TCON) and the memory element (EEPROM) through the interface between the timing controller and the memory element in liquid crystal displays (LCD). Therefore, we must apply ESD protection methods to LCD operating circuits for a normal operation. Our ESD protection circuit is to prevent from bi-directional communication errors between TCON and EEPROM due to an electrostatic discharge (ESD).

  • In this paper, we consider hyperstructures (H,.) defined on the set H = {e, a, b}. We study the hyperstructure of H when every element is one of a scalar unit, a unit or a weak scalar. On those conditions the $H_{\upsilon}$-quasigroups are classified. And we obtain the 15 minimal $H_{\upsilon}$-groups and 2 non-quasi $H_{\upsilon}$-semigroups For these we use the Mathematica 3.0 computer programs.

  • A generalized torsion element is an obstruction for a group to admit a bi-ordering. Only a few classes of hyperbolic knots are known to admit such an element in their knot groups. Among twisted torus knots, the known ones have their extra twists on two adjacent strands of torus knots. In this paper, we give several new families of hyperbolic twisted torus knots whose knot groups have generalized torsion. They have extra twists on arbitrarily large numbers of adjacent strands of torus knots.

  • A coupled three-dimensional pile group analysis method was developed by considering complex behavior of sub-structures (pile-soil-cap) which included soil nonlinearity and the behavior of super-structure (pier). As an intermediate analysis method between FBPier 3.0 and Group 0.0, it took advantages of each method. Among the components of a pile group, individual piles were modeled with stiffness matrices of pile heads and soils with nonlinear load-transfer curves (t-z, q-z and p-y curves). A pile cap was modeled with modified four-node flat shell elements and a pier with three-dimensional beam element, so that a unified analysis could be possible. A nonlinear analysis method was proposed in this study with a mixed incremental and iteration techniques. The proposed method for a pile group subjected to axial and lateral loads was compared with othe. analytical methods (i.e., Group 6.0 and FBPier 3.0). It was found that the proposed method could predict the complex behavior of a pile group well, even though piles were modelled simply in this study by using pile head stiffness matrices which were different from the method introduced in FBPier 3.0.

  • In this study, the behaviors of friction pile groups are investigated using 3D finite element (FE) analysis. The emphasis was quantifying on the shear load transfer (f-w) characteristics of pile groups and the shaft group effects. A framework for determining the f-w curve is proposed based on both theoretical analysis and field load test database. Through comparisons with case histories and FE results, it is shown that the proposed f-w curve is capable of predicting the behavior of a friction pile in deep soft clay. Additionally, a numerical analysis that takes into account the group efficiency factors were performed for major parameter on group pile-soil interaction, such as the pile spacing, pile arrangement, soil condition, and location of pile cap. Based on these results, the shaft group efficiency factors were also proposed.

  • This studies were designed to know the contents of trace element and magnesium in cereals. Twenty two kinds of cereal, 104'samples, were analyzed by atomic absorption spectrophotometer for the determination of Manganese, Iron, Magnesium, Chrome, Cupper, Nickel, Zinc, Stannous, Lead and Cadmium. The results are as follows: 1) The contents of Mn and Fe in the sesame group show highest value and next is bean group. In the rice group its content shows lowest value than other cereals. 2) In the Cr content its value is lower than other elements in cereals respectively. Cr content of sesame and bean group show higher than rice and barley group. 3) The contents of Cu and Ni in the sesame and bean group show higher value than the value of rice and barley group. Its contents of rice and barley group is almost equal in Cu and Ni. 4) For the Zn content the value of sesame group is higher than other cereals and next is bean group. In the Sn content the value of bean group shows higher one than other cereals. The contents of Zn and Sn in rice and barley group are lower than other cereals. 5) The value of Pb is almost equal to each cereal. The content of Cd in bear group and barley group show higher than other cereals and its value of rice group is equal to the value of barley group.
