  • The purpose of this study is to clarify correlation between preference for game element and game addiction in elementary-school students. In the current elementary-school students, the game addiction is reaching the serious situation. However, there are almost no research that specifically inquired into preference for game element in elementary-school students, and research that inquired into relationship between game element and game addiction. Therefore, this study aims to prevent game addiction by clarifying correlation between the addiction to game and the relevant game element. As a result of researching, the preference for game element was significantly higher in male students than in female students. And, the students of preferring a game were higher compared to the students of not preferring a game. The preference for the social desire satisfaction was higher in the lower academic achievements. The preference for the sensible desire satisfaction and for the intellectual desire satisfaction was the highest in students of preferring RTS game. And, the preference in students of preferring racing and action game was the lowest.

  • The 21st century is an era of knowledge innovation. Under the era background of knowledge explosion and information explosion, the competition among countries is ultimately talent competition. High-end talents are the core element of national competitiveness. Today, with the rapid development of science and technology and knowledge changing with each passing day, the cultivation of students' creativity is the requirement of social development and national progress. This paper makes a comparison between the creativity of business school students in China and Korea with questionnaire survey. Empirical study and comparative study with university students by grade in China and Korea are performed. The test results indicates that there are differences between Korean and Chinese students. Also, university students' creativity are different by grade. This study finds internal reasons for creativity differences and puts forward counter measures and methods for improving students'creativity.

  • The purpose of this study was to investigate and compare the multicultural perceptions (multicultural acceptability, multicultural sensitivity and judging multicultural children) of elementary school students. The subjects comprised 1,252 students (583 third graders and 669 sixth graders), promoted from 20 elementary school in J province. The findings are as follows. First, the independent t-test showed that the lower graders had higher scores in cultural openness and national identity of multicultural acceptability, as well as the cognitive element of multicultural sensitivity than upper graders. In addition, the upper graders had higher scores in unilateral expectations for assimilation of multicultural acceptability, as well as the cognitive element of judging multicultural children. Second, all subscales were found to be interrelated, except for unilateral expectations for assimilation and two subscales (cognitive and righteous) in judging multicultural children. These results imply that in order to help have more positive perceptions of multiculturalism, it is necessary to develop more diverse multicultural education programs for elementary school students which take into consideration their grade levels.

  • The ability of understanding the number and number systems, grasping the properties of number systems, and manipulating number systems is the foundation to understand algebra. It is useful to deepen students' mathematical understanding of number systems and operations. The authentic understanding of numbers and operations can make it possible for the students to manipulate algebraic symbols, to represent relationship among sets of numbers, and to use variables to investigate the properties of sets of numbers. The high school students need to understand the number systems from more abstract perspective. The purpose of this study is to study on understanding and application ability of eleventh graders of basic properties of operations with real numbers.

  • The purpose of this study is to provide a basis for planning of school foodservice facilities to operate with hygiene and efficiency corresponding a decrease of the number of students. This study analyzes the composition of space for foodservice facilities categorizing by the functions which are preparation area, cooking area, cleaning area, storage, and worker's room on elementary, middle and high school in Seoul Metropolitan city since 2009 that the Seoul School Health Promotion Center published a manual for school foodservice facilities. The calculation can be a basis for school planners and the general schools to use available area in each school and can manage the school usage plan appropriately. The number of students in each school has been regarded as the space planning element, but the number of students would considered with using the specific area and time.

  • This study was conducted to evaluate the necessity of clinical nutrition education in the medical school curriculum. One hundred and eighty five medical school students, residents, nurses, and forty undergraduate students majoring in food science and nutrition were involved in this study. The survey included questions about nutritional knowledge, necessity of nutrition counseling, necessity of clinical nutrition and nutritional attitudes. The nutritional knowledge scores of the subjects in medical school and residents were significantly lower than those of the students majoring in food science and nutrition. Subjects of 91.3% strongly agreed to the necessity of nutrition counseling for patients ; 78.9% agreed that the present nutrition education in medical schools was inadequate. Most subjects (94.1%) agreed that clinical nutrition was an important field in the treatment of diseases. The medical profession is facing the challenges of the 1990s with the shift to outpatient care and preventative services. Clinical nutrition is an essential element in the process of curriculum change. The nutrition educator will be expected to take a leading role in integrating clinical nutrition into medical school curriculum.

  • The purpose of this study was to analyze the types of questions of energy field in the elementary science textbooks and to know the preference types of questions of students by grade. To accomplish this study, the analyzing framework on the types of questions was made and ensured the validity. To know students' preference types of questions, a questionnaire was made and the survey was conducted to the students of D elementary school in B city. The results can be summarized as follows: First, of the questions in the elementary science textbooks, the types of limited question were the most frequent(56%) and the next was the type of relevant question(41.82%). In the type of limited question, the element of propositional type was the most frequent and in the type of relevant question, the element of applicable type was the most frequent. Second, from the result of analyzing students' preference types of questions by grade using questionnaire, we could find as follows. Most of the graders chose retrospective type of question as the easy types of questions. And 3, 4, 6th graders chose justificative type and 5th graders chose applicable type as the difficult ones. Third, as interesting type and want-to-select type, 3th graders students chose propositional type and 4, 5th graders chose retrospective type and 6th graders chose inferring type.

  • In order to prove the hypothesis that the element of school location planning - the density of development, availability of various private institutes, the location of school, the type of school district, the distance to nearby schools, the existence of communal areas, the pedestrian street, the number of road lanes - affects the increase and decrease of the number of students in the long term, we examined the tendency of the number of long-term (24 years). The results of the analysis are as follows: First, the development factors such as development density, location of school, type of school district, distance from neighboring schools, separation of pedestrians and cars are clearly related. Second, the planning factors such as location of private school and installation of pedestrian-only street seem to be related to each other. Third, the number of road lanes and element of "communal area" is irrelevant. This study is limited to generalization of five new metropolitan cities in the metropolitan area, and it is necessary to further elaborate the analysis factors and evaluation criteria.

  • Architectural design for school can be completed well when the environment-friendly elements are satisfied. In other words, the environment-freindly element could be most important idea for school planning, and one should have this direction for each element as a design goal. In this study, I defined the "environment-friendly" as the environment for nature and human. I examined what could satisfy those and would be its principles. I set up the criteria to satisfy each priciple. Most important factor to keep the relation between nature and human would be reducing carbon dioxide emissions, and a green belt would absorb it. Therefore, I think that there would be effective possibility when suitable conditions are applied in phases. Every school can have comfort as environment-friendly facility, at the same time, contribute to nature. Also, students can learn and study nature, and perform a duty as human.

  • The objective of this study is to clarify how high school students recognize the mental model of the global environment and how they conceptualize the environment. Using the drawing and interview, 25 high school students participated in the survey and were asked to visualize the environmental elements of the global environment and describe the environment they portrayed. The dominant mental model in the present was Mental Model 3: the environment as a place impacted or modified by human activity. Yet, the partial mental model in the future was Mental Model 2: the environment as a place that supports human life. The implications to environmental science education are explored.
