With Increasing importance of electroless nickel plating technology in many fields such as electronic and automobile industries, the treatment of the spent baths is becoming a serious problem. These spent baths contain iron and zinc as impurities, organic acids as complexing reagents, and phosphonate ions as oxidized species of tile reducing reagent. as well as several grams per liter of nickel. The spent baths are currently treated by conventional precipitation method. but a mettled with no sludge generation is desired. This work aims at establishing a recycling process of nickel from tile spent baths using solvent extraction. Extraction behaviors of nickel. iron. and zinc in various 쇼pes of real spent baths are investigated as a function of pH using LIX841, di (2-ethylhexyl)phosphoric acid (D2EHPA), and PC88A as tile extractants. Nickel is extracted by LIX84I at the equilibrium pH of more than 6 with high efficiency. For the weakly acid baths. iron and zinc are extracted by D2EHPA or PC88A without adjusting the pH of the baths leaving nickel in the aqueous phase. Stripping of nickel from LIX84I with sulfuric acid is also investigated. It is shown that concentrated nickel sulfate solution (> 100 ㎏-Ni/㎥) is obtained. This solution can be reused in the electroless plating process. Based on these findings, flow sheets for recovering nickel from the spent baths are proposed.

Cognitive Radio (CR) has very promising potential to improve spectrum utilization by allowing unlicensed Secondary Users (SUs) to access the spectrum dynamically without disturbing licensed Primary Users (PUs). Mitigating interference is a fundamental problem in CR scenarios. This is particularly problematic for deploying CR in cellular networks, when users are located at the cell edge, as the inter-cell interference mitigation and frequency reuse are critical requirements for both PUs and SUs. Further cellular networks require higher cell edge performance, then SUs will meet more challenges than PUs. To solve the performance decrease for SUs at the cell edge, a novel Dynamic Spectrum Allocation (DSA) scheme based on Game Theory is proposed in this paper. Full frequency reuse can be realized as well as inter-cell interference mitigated according to SUs' sensing, measurement and interaction in this scheme. A joint power/channel allocation algorithm is proposed to improve both cell-edge user experience and network performance through distributed pricing calculation and exchange based on game theory. Analytical proof is presented and simulation results show that the proposed scheme achieves high efficiency of spectrum usage and improvement of cell edge SUs' performance.
Equilibrium geometries, electronic structures, and energies of borocarbon clusters (binary compounds of carbon and boron), an unexplored class of molecules with highly unusual characteristics and potential for further development, have been investigated by means of B3LYP/6-311+G$^*$ density functional theory computations. A large number of B$_7$C${_1}^{1-}$, B$_6C_2$, and B$_5C_{3}\,^{1+}$ clusters with planar and non-planar monocyclic and polycyclic rings, as well as cage structures, have been systematically studied. Unexpectedly, planar forms are predicted not only to be the most stable structures, but also, in many cases, to have unprecedented planar heptacoordinate boron (p-heptaB) and planar heptacoordinate carbon (p-heptaC) arrangements. All these pheptaB and p-heptaC have 6π electrons and are aromatic according to the nucleus independent chemical shift (NICS). This novel bonding pattern is analyzed in terms of natural bond orbital (NBO) analysis. For virtually all possible B$_7$C${_1}^{1-}$, B$_6C_2$, and B$_5C_{3}\,^{1+}$ combinations, the p-heptaB arrangements are the more stable than other type structures.

Spectroscopic and electrostatic probe measurements were made to examine plasma characteristics with or without a metal plate for a 10-㎾-class direct-current arcjet Heat fluxes into the plate from the plasma were also evaluated with a Nickel slug and thermocouple arrangement. Ammonia and mixtures of nitrogen and hydrogen were used. The NH$_3$ and $N_2$+3H$_2$ plasmas in the nozzle and in the downstream plume without a plate were in thermodynamical nonequilibrium states. As a result, the H-atom electronic excitation temperature and the $N_2$ molecule-rotational excitation temperature intensively decreased downstream in the nozzle although the NH molecule-rotational excitation temperature did not show an axial decrease. Each temperature was kept in a small range in the plume without a plate except for the NH rotational temperature for NH$_3$ gas. On the other hand, as approaching the plate, the thermodynamical nonequilibrium plasma came to be a temperature-equilibrium one because the plasma flow tended to stagnate in front of the plate. The electron temperature had a small radial variation near the plate. Both the electron number density and the heat flux decreased radially outward, and an increase in H$_2$ mole fraction raised them at a constant radial position. In cases with NH$_3$ and $N_2$+3H$_2$ a large number of NH radical with a radially wide distribution was considered to cause a large amount of energy loss, i.e., frozen flow loss, for arcjet thrusters.

Mean-reverting analysis refers to a way of estimating the underlining tendency after new data has evoked the variation in the equilibrium state. In this paper, we propose a new method to interpret the specular portraits of Premature Ventricular Contraction(PVC) arrhythmia by applying K-means unsupervised learning algorithm on electrocardiogram(ECG) data. Aiming at this purpose, we applied a mean-reverting model to analyse Heart Rate Variability(HRV) in terms of the modified poincare plot by considering PVC rhythm as the component of disrupting the homeostasis state. Based on our experimental tests on MIT-BIH ECG database, we can find the fact that the specular patterns portraited by K-means clustering on mean-reverting HRV data can be more clearly visible and the Euclidean metric can be used to identify the discrepancy between the normal sinus rhythm and PVC beats by the relative distance among cluster-centroids.

This paper presents the scheme that improves control responsibility and stability of the controlled-PM electromagnet levitation system with zero Power controller. A magnetically levitation system is used widely because friction can almost be disappeared. But it is difficult to control due to restraint of controllable area and nonlinear characteristics of electromagnetic force, which is proportioned to a square of the magnetic flux density and is in inverse proportion to a square of the air-gap. So, the application of observer theory in which the levitation system is considered to be a linear dynamic model has resulted in omitting the time dependence on mover's speed. Consequently, the performance of the observer is quite poor during transients. Therefore, this paper proposed the controlled-PM electro-magnetic levitation control method in which the variable load is estimated by using the reduced order extended luenverger observer and its system is controlled at a new zero power equilibrium air-gap position. It is also verified that the proposed control method improve the control performance through simulation and experiment.
Due to the wide use of electronic products, digitally controlled DC-DC converters are attracting more and more attention in recent years. However, digital control strategies may introduce undesirable Limit Cycle Oscillation (LCO) due to quantization effects in the Analog-to-Digital Converter (ADC) and Digital Pulse Width Modulator (DPWM). This results in decreases in the quality of the output voltage and the efficiency of the system. Meanwhile, even if the resolution of the DPWM is finer than that of the ADC, LCO may still exist due to improper parameters of the digital compensator. In order to discover how LCO is generated, the state space averaging model is applied to derive equilibrium equations of a digital PID controlled DC-DC converter in this paper. Furthermore, the influences of the parameters of the digital PID compensator, and the resolutions of the ADC and DPWM on LCO are studied in detail. The amplitude together with the period of LCO as well as the corresponding PID parameters are obtained. Finally, MATLAB/Simulink simulations and FPGA verifications are carried out and no-LCO conditions are obtained.
This paper is the second part of the January 2018 issue of the Korean Society for Engineering Education, The "Equilibrium and Unbalance Analysis of Taegeuk Pattern DNA Matrix Codes," and is an extension of the paper published in the IoT Section of the 2017 Summer Conference in Jeju. In this paper, we have reviewed the history of what is life, and 5G Mobile communication: with IoT followed by recent research on influenza RNA gene mutation and DNA mutation variants, and the insights of Watson and Crick. Inspired by a single Franklin DNA X-ray diffraction photograph, they received the Nobel Prize for the Nature publication of DNA that has three patterns and regular repeatability. Professor MoonHo Lee has solved the three patterns in Diagonal, Left to Right, and Vertical matrices in a 2x2 matrix[CU; AG] and A = T = U = 30% C = G = 20%. We also proposed DNA Watch. This is the Healthcare IoT, which is seen by the DNA Watch on the wrist, the type of Tai Chi pattern of the body, and is immediately connected to the smartphone and delivered to the doctor.
Ab initio calculations are performed for $ArCO_2^+$ and $ArCO_2$. Between the two configurations of $ArCO_2^+$ the orbital interactions and the higher order correlation calculations favor the T-shape, and their interaction energies are calculated to be approximately half the experimental values using 6-31G$^{\ast}$ basis set. In $ArCO_2$, the calculations qualitatively favor the T-structure, which is compatible with the experiment. However, the true interaction energy is obscured since it is within the BSSE limit at this basis set size and the correlation level. Addition of sp type diffuse functions increase the interaction energies by a considerable amount, but the BSSE estimated by CP method are responsible for the significant portion of the difference. The possible equilibrium structure of the $Ar^+-CO_2$ complex, where the charge is localized on Ar, is suggested as having a linear structure. The potential energy surface and the amount of charge transfer are shown to be sensitive to the type and balancing of basis set.
We propose a Cubic-Interpolated Pseudo-Particle Lattice Boltzmann method (CIP-LBM) for the convection-diffusion equation (CDE) based on the Bhatnagar-Gross-Krook (BGK) scheme equation. The CIP-LBM relies on an accurate numerical lattice equilibrium particle distribution function on the advection term and the use of a splitting technique to solve the Lattice Boltzmann equation. Different schemes of lattice spaces such as D1Q3, D2Q5, and D2Q9 have been used for simulating a variety of problems described by the CDE. All simulations were carried out using the BGK model, although another LB scheme based on a collision term like two-relation time or multi-relaxation time can be easily applied. To show quantitative agreement, the results of the proposed model are compared with an analytical solution.
