  • This article examines the impact of electronic commerce on environmental welfare. In particular, we analyze a game model of price competition between offline and online firms when consumption taxes are imposed on both offline and online transactions that produce environmental pollution. We investigate the properties of optimal taxation between offline and online markets and demonstrate that there is an optimal difference between the two taxes, depending upon not only the transaction cost between offline and online consumption, but also the environmental damage cost. We also investigate the effect of tax-free online transactions on tax revenues, and the financial feasibility of the optimal taxation.

  • In the face of this bewildering array of approaches to the problem, in 1997, the National Conference of Commissioners on Uniform State Laws (NCCUSL) undertook to produce a new uniform law that would bring some order and consistency to state legislation in this area. The NCCUSL drafting committee worked on a highly expedited drafting schedule, and a completed draft of UETA was finalized and approved ill July 1999.15.

  • The purpose of this study is to propose a new mechanism for the global transmission of electronic trade documents and to promote them using it. Trade settlement methods are changed from L/C bases to non-L/C bases and in particular, the telegraphic transfer is dramatically increased since mid 1990. But the status of transmission of electronic trade documents still rely on the letter of credit and bill of lading. So it need to change the process of transmission of electronic trade documents utilizing non-negotiable sea waybill instead of bill of lading. In this study, I pointed out two problems as obstacle factors in global transmission of electronic trade documents. First is the system connection problem between domestic and foreign banks and second is the electronic right transfer problem in the bill of lading. Electronic bill of lading has already been made, but are not used and e-Nego has also not been activated under the above issues. Therefore, it should be solved previously the above problems for the global transmission of electronic trade documents under the letters of credit. However, in transactions of transfer, it does not need the inter-bank connection and also does not occur the electronic right transfer problem of bill of lading if using the non-negotiable seaway bill instead of bill of lading. In this paper, I recommend the global transmission strategies of e-trade documents using the non-negotiable sea waybill in transactions of transfer. Hopefully, I expect the activation of global transmission of e-trade documents through the utilization of electronic non-negotiable sea waybill as suggested by this study.

  • Owing to the digital revolution, Internet Commerce and Electronic Commerce is having a profound influence on the global trade and internal commerce, revolutionizing the way of doing business and making payment. The entrance of the Internet has a prominent for spread of Electronic Commerce and those phenomenons will result in paperless trading and cashless trade By virtue of Internet, an increasing share of business transactions occurs online. Electronic payment is essential for the smooth progress of the electronic commerce as electronic payment plays the important role in the electronic commerce. Traditionally international settlement systems such as letters of credits, remittance and documentary collections operated as an important and popular method of payment. Now, information technology has made it possible to pay for the sale of goods and services over the internet. In international trade, there are service providers (Bolero, TradeCard, @Globaltrade) to settle payment electronically through the Internet.

  • Electronic methods are already used in money transfer and credit cards transactions and electronic money and checks, which can substitute cash and coins, are being discussed. Recently, the Acts of Electronic Draft have been enacted, in order to make the money in the market flow efficiently. Also electronic bill of lading has been adopted for the practical use of international shipments. However, despite of the effort from the academia and practice, investments to stocks, especially in the stock exchange, is not quite perfectly electronic. Japan enacted a relevant act in 2004 which make its stock market totally dematerialized. This writing summarizes some issues in interpretation that arise in the course of operation of the Stock Electronic Registration System at the present time of 6 months after it came into effect and its purpose, by doing so, is to prevent in advance the kind of problems in introducing the similar system to Korea.

  • The electronic properties of Carbon Nanotube(CNT) are currently the focus of considerable interest. In this paper, the electronic properties of finite length effect in CNT for the carbon nano-scale device is presented. To Calculate the electronic properties of CNT, Empirical potential method (the extended Brenner potential for C-Si-H) for carbon and Tight Binding molecular dynamic (TBMD) simulation are used. As a result of study, we have known that the value of the band gap decreases with increasing the length of the tube. The energy band gap of (6,6) armchair CNT have the ranges between 0.3 eV and 2.5 eV. Also, our results are in agreements with the result of the other computational techniques.

  • Entering the era of globalization, international real estate companies to advance into the country are increasing. And real estate transactions, the need for transparency and reliability are becoming even more. The alternative that real estate transactions in advance to avoid an accident is just an escrow system. Analysing the status and actual conditions of escrow in the country's real estate market and presenting the activation plans are as follows. First, the government should support building bulk service for real estate transactions. Second, tax benefits should be developed.

  • We have investigated the continuous pretilt angle generation for liquid crystals using a rubbing treated mixture layer consisting of homogeneous and homeotropic polyimides. Various pretilt angles in the range from $0^{\circ}$ to $60^{\circ}$ were achieved as a function of the concentration of homeotropic PI. The transmittance characteristics used to measure the pretilt angle showed that the pretilt angles were measured with a high reliability. We observed uniform liquid crystal alignment on the rubbing treated mixture layer.

  • The international business community has been seeking to change paper based bill of lading to electronic bill of lading for the recent years. The reasons for the need for electronic bill of lading are the benefits to international traders:they are fast to issue, transmit and process. These benefits are eliminate the crisis of bill of lading and come down the cost international business community have to charged. The purpose of this paper is to investigate and issue the problems of the present methods of the Electronic Bill of Lading and find implications to commercialized the Electronic Bill of Lading in the basis of the laws and practices of the international trade. Various attempts are offered to achieve this benefits for the last years such as SeaDocs Project, CMI Rules for Electronic Bills of Lading, and Bolero Project. But these methods are yet to be achieved the goals to substitute the paper-based Bill of Lading to Electronic Bill of Lading entirely.
