Surface Aging Properties of Silicon Rubber Insulator by salt-fog (Silicon rubber 애자의 salt-fog 표면열화 특성)

  • In this paper, the silicon rubber insulator for transmission line was experimented for 1,000 hours aging test in salt-fog condition. To evaluate and examine the aging properties of silicon rubber insulator for test, the leakage current of surface was measured. Also hydrophobicity and scanning electron microscopy were compared with initial and aged sample respectively. Above results, we can confirm that the surface properties of silicon rubber insulator easily aged by salt-fog condition.

  • 기존의 초고압 옥외절연물은 세라믹을 소재로한 porcelain이었지만 최근 신소재기술의 발달로 내열성, 내후성, 내트래킹성 등이 우수한 고분자 재료들이 개발됨에 따라 구미 선진국을 중심으로 이들의 전기절연물분야 적용이 크게 증가하고 있다. 인발(pultrusion)공법으로 glass fiber와 수지를 결합시켜 고강도 무결점의 FRP절연봉이나 tube를 만들 수가 있다. 절연물에서 요구되는 구조재로서의 기계적 특성은 FRP복합재료가 충족시킬 수 있는데 이러한 봉을 core재로 하여 절연물의 표면전기특성을 만족하도록 고무로 된 shed를 씌우고 양쪽 끝에 금구류를 부착하여 composite insulator를 만들 수가 있다. composite insulator는 여러개의 shed를 한번에 진공사출하거나 shed를 금형에서 찍어 조립하여 제작할 수가 있는데 지금까지 검토되어 온 어떤 고분자 절연물보다 특성이 우수하고 장점이 많기 때문에 상업적 가치를 인정받고 있다. 본 고에서는 옥외용 절연물의 절연성능과 섬락사고기구를 요약하고 고분자신소재 절연물인 composite insulator의 장점, 국내외 개발현황, 평가방법등을 정리하였다.

  • The current paper deals with a new live-line insulator inspection tool system that will be used by the Korea Electric Power Corporation for its 154 kV power transmission lines in 2011. Unlike the existing contact type tools, the developed inspection tool automates parts of the insulator inspection process using a sensor and an actuator. The tool sustains its weight independently, not by a lineman. In addition, the inspection tool measures the insulation resistance of an insulator together with its distribution voltage, thus providing more information for analysis and diagnosis. Such characteristics improve the system's operation efficiency, measurement reliability, and usability. We confirmed its effectiveness through live-line field tests with actual power transmission lines.

  • This paper presents the results of multi-stress chamber experiments done to examine the tracking and erosion performance of polymer insulator. Multi-stress testing is able to demonstrate deficiencies of polymer insulator materials and designs, including the nature of interfaces in insulation design. Therefore, multi-stress testing is believed to a suitable test for evaluating the aging performance of polymer insulator designs. We have nvestigated IEC 61109 Annex C for estimating long time performance of polymer insulator.

  • The airpollutant may accelerate degradation of power line facilities, and may reduce the life of the electric facilities. In case of korea, there are a tendency that the density of air pollution may be increased by industrial development. while lack of research activity and establishment of a countermeasure on this issue. Recently the occurrence of electricity failure have been reduced on the power transmission and distribution lines. but the occurrence of electricity failure by insulator itself has been increased. It means that we should have develop more clear technique for detection of the wrong insulator. In this study to provide a method for detection of the insulator failure or effective management of the troubled insulator, we analyze the chemical composition of the insulator which used on power distribution line at the sea side locations. To define the relation between insulation and corona intensity, we design and develop an corona detector. We define the variation of insulation by pollution changes on the insulator and verify quantitative relation between corona and insulations using the corona detector.

  • This paper describes thermal-mechanical performance and ultimate mechanical-strength test for the purpose of aging analysis of suspension insulator. The temperature of insulator surface according to the aging of suspension insulator was rised about 2[$^{\circ}C$] to 7~8[$^{\circ}C$] difference comparing with the atmospheric temperature. The autoclave expansion of portland cement at the specimen that had much puncture insulator(autoclave measuring value : 0.37[%]) was higher than those of a little puncture insulator (autoclave measuring value : 0.1[ %] ). Quality standard and mechanical-strength of used suspension insulator deteriorate more remarkably than those of new suspension insulator. It is required that thermal-mechanical performance test standard be revised in the future.

  • Because of the low pollution resistance of the porcelain electrical insulator itself, in this work the anti-pollution performance of insulator was improved by using the functional coating. The ceramic substrates that components were same as the porcelain electrical insulator were used in this experiment. The functional films were coated on the ceramic substrate by using a spray coating method, and then the coated substrate were annealed under different coating condition such as natural curing and annealing temperature of $200^{\circ}C$, $300^{\circ}C$ and $400^{\circ}C$. Then, the contact angles of the coated surfaces were measured and the minimum angle ($8.3^{\circ}$) was obtained at $400^{\circ}C$. The anti-contamination properties were measured, revealing that as the contact angle decreased, the anti-contamination properties improved. The hardness and adhesion were small at the natural curing condition however the excellent mechanical properties were obtained under higher temperature annealing.

A study of the forest Fire Influence on the Insulator Characteristics for T/L (송전용 애자의 산불영향에 따른 특성 연구)

  • In order to understand the effect of the mountain fire on the polymeric insulator for transmission lines, the author observed the deformation of the sheds of the polymeric insulators and the change of the discs of the porcelain insulators under fire, and investigated the electrical and mechanical characteristics of the insulators after the ignition test As the result the following conclusions were obtained. First, the porcelain insulator was degraded in electrical characteristics when the insulator was subjected to the fire for approximately 5 minutes; whereas, the polymeric insulator was not degraded though there were some damage on its sheds. Second, after 20 minutes exposure to the fire, the polymeric insulator lost a lot of parts of sheds, but the electrical characteristics was lowered by around $20(\%)$, but the porcelain insulators were electrically degraded by more than $80(\%)$.

  • Generally, hanger insulator for polymer arrestor have to be good insulation properties and mechanical strength and weatherability, But many remark and repairs have been to think about low cost and light weight. The Paper is used Polymer arrestor for post and performance analysis and mechanical strength insulator hanger according to development of simplest product. To enhance the efficiency of experimental modal analysis, we proposed the process which is the selection of the locations and the number of measurement points for pre-test.
