Electrical leakage happens when faults in electrical apparatus or power lines occur. It causes electrical fires and electric shocks. In order to reduce accidents caused by electrical leakage current, it is important to detect faults effectively and shut off the power. In this paper, firstly we analyzed statistics of electrical fires and electric shocks caused by electrical leakage current. Secondly, standards of allowable leakage current and body impedance models were analyzed. Lastly, effective application methods for breaking electrical leakage current were suggested. The results will provide useful preventive measures of electrical fires and electric shocks caused by electrical leakage.

A children's electric shock accidents have broken out because children can easily insert sharp things in 220V receptacle holes. As the test result of pushing force, children's pushing force was about 2-4kg and the pushing force of sharp things was less than 2kg. Therefore, it is reason for electric shock that children's pushing force is large than pushing force of sharp things. We have measured insulation resistance for the receptacles of five companies during 50 weeks in humid condition. As these results, Insulation resistance for the receptacles of J. Co. had rapidly decreased with lapse of time. As the result for investigating the surface of receptacle by SEM and EDX, Al, Fe and Br, which weren't discovered at original form, were produced. Therefore, the receptacles of J. Co. should be the improved in the quality of insulating material because insulation resistance can be decreased in humid environment
Regarding the characteristics of fatal electric shock accident during the past 10 years, fatalities occurred more frequently in July & August, and AM 10-12 PM & 14-16. Also, the electric shock accident is occurred more frequently in the age group from 30 to 40. Especially, the fatal electric shock accident in construction industry covered more than half of total industry. Therefore, it is strongly requested for the protection technology of an electric shock from the low voltage electric path, grounding method and workers. The aim of this study is to propose the policy about the equipment performance standards and/or worker's safety standards to revise the standards for preventing electric shock accidents on safety workings.

To analyze the effectiveness of the resistive leakage current monitoring as a technology preventing electrical accidents, in this paper, we have estimated the phase of the body impedance by using the body impedance model and the body impedance data from IEC. We also have analyzed the phase of the electric body current in the case of 60Hz/220V. From these results, we concluded that deliberate researches about the phase of the electrical body current and related regulations must be carried out before the resistive leakage current monitoring unit is used to protect electric shock. And we concluded that the resistive leakage current monitoring unit can be utilized to prevent electrical fires caused by electric leakage current without unwanted circuit break due to capacitive leakage current flowing from line filter capacitors to the earth.

Since Korea has high accident rate for the electrical shock than other advanced countries, it causes very serious problems. In this paper, a new classification method for analyzing electricity accidents is proposed, which is based on the microscopic view while existing methods have been based at the macroscopic view point. Electrical accidents cases can be mainly divided by three cases, which are from live works, incompleteness of the grounding system and imperfectness of the safety education and public relations. New data format of electrical shocks are proposed in the environment of smart grids.
A street light is an electrical equipment to improve the traffic safety and the security for people in night. However, many accidents due to electric shock have happened in recent, people were interested in the safety of electrical facilities. And people want to know the danger by touch and step voltages. When the electric power lines fall down on the ground, the fault current flows to ground rod and the potential near the ground rod is increased to induce the high touch and step voltages. In this paper, we installed different ground rods with a street light and investigated the electrical potential according to ground methods and the types of ground rod. Finally, we examined the electrical facilities with the experimental result and present the improved technical data for the safety from electric shock

DC distribution systems has recently taken the spotlight. Concerns over human safety and stability facility are raised in DC distribution systems. Std. IEC 60479 provides basic guidance on "the effects of shock current on human beings and livestock" for use in the establishment of electrical safety requirements and suggests an electrical impedance of the human body. This study analyzes impedance spectrums based on the electrical equivalent impedance circuit for the human body; human body impedances measured by experiments are analyzed below the fundamental frequency (60 Hz). The analysis shows that the equivalent impedance circuit for the human body should be modified at least in low-frequency range below the fundamental frequency (60 Hz). The DC residual current detection method that can classify electric shock accidents of humans and electric leakages of facilities is proposed by applying the analysis result. The detection method is verified by experiments on livestock.

In this paper, we studied risk assessments of electrical fire and shock of LED lightings for outdoor. We examined national regulations about the LED lighting for outdoor and analyzed the appearances and compositions of LED lightings. And, We experimented about water proof, line to line fault, line to line breakdowm, overvoltage, line to line leakage in overhead line or water of LED lighting. From experimental results, we know that there are risks of electrical fire and shock by abnormal conditions at the LED lighting. Therefore, the uses of protective devices and insulated type of converter are required for the electrical safety. We expect that the results of this study would be helpful for the improvement of regulations and standards for electrical safety and for the investigations of electrical accidents of LED lightings.
The speciality of education installation has to be applied to the design construction, inspection of school in the installation. But. it was applied general electric installation standards in korea. Therefore, the electric shock accidents and fire was more frequently occurred in the school than in other building. So, this paper, is proposed the comprehensive countermeasure for safety of school electric installation

Despite advances in technology, crushing accidents still occur during emergency evacuations of crowded public spaces. To prevent crushing accidents, it is necessary to understand the flow of pedestrians during evacuation scenarios through experiments. Since experiments with humans can generate real accidents, we performed experiments on rodents to approximate human behavior. To trigger an emergency evacuation response, we applied electrical stimulation to the feet of the rodents. Although electrical stimulation has been applied to mice in many experiments, studies on the intensity and pattern of electric stimulation required to evoke a rapid evacuation response in mice is still lacking. In this study, we experimentally investigated how the evacuation flow of mice changes according to the amplitude, event, and duration of electric stimulation.
