  • LPM that is used for head driver is problem of miniaturization of construction and cost. This can be achieved by most suitable shape decision. and suitable selection of control system. Specially, in LPM that Full step is mm$\sim$um unit. the large change of thrust receives much effect by tooth number per pole. tooth width and slot width about change of the air gap length. Therefore, this paper presents LPM that use for suitable head driver to reduce of the structure and the cost. to generate maximum thrust of LPM, and finds the proportion of the tooth pitch to tooth width and the slot width about change of the air gap length through FEM analysis. Also, applying different tooth width and slot width that is given as analysis result. this paper presented model that thrust is improved.

  • This paper describes the design of a 2-phase stepping motor driver using CPLD(Complex Programmable Logic Device). The driver IC such as L297 (SGS-Thomson Microelectronics), which is mostly used has some problems in PWM control because of the switching noise of power MOSFETs. It causes current ripple and acoustic noise. To improve theses characteristics, we proposed a new current control method that the output PWM frequency is almost constant using a digital filter. Also we proposed constant current method for 1-2 phase(half step) excitation. The proposed method is implemented with CPLD(Xilinx, XC9572-PC44). Experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed method.

  • Air Management System is composed by Pump, Fan, Compressor and Blower In general their performances depend on the capability of the motor, power converter device and controller. Especially, it should be noticed upon designing Air Management System using for Fuel Cell System, that Pump, Fan, Compressor and Blower satisfy the condition of the high performance, high efficiency, high density and reasonable price considering the safety and Economic Efficiency. In order for this, it should be studied that which kind of Motor is the most suited for Air Management System for Fuel Cell, such as Induction Motor, Brushless DC Motor, and Switched Reluctance Motor which is widely using in industry. This paper presents the designing and manufacturing of Outer Rotor Type BLDC Motor and Driver for Air Blower of Air Management System. Experimental results from a laboratory prototype arc presented to validate the feasibility of the proposed Air Blower Motor and Driver.

Automobile Power Seat Using Motor Current Profile Control Technology (모터 전류 형상 제어 기술을 적용한 차량용 전동 시트)

  • Seat of automobile is required to support the comfort to driver and passenger during the driving. The control method of the seat position is changed from manual type to power type, which means using the motor to increase the comfort of the driver. By using the motor, several problems, such as vibration, noise, and over-current, appeared. These problems can be reduced through the control of seat motor. In this study, a control technology of four control variables, which determine profile of the input voltage applying to the seat motor, is proposed to generate the current profile having soft-start and soft-stop. The current flowing through the coil by input voltage is described by mathematical modeling of power seat. It is confirmed that optimized current profile having soft-start and soft-stop can be generated from simulation using the mathematical model.

  • In this paper, a controller design for ironless linear synchronous motor is proposed. The designed controller is mainly composed of speed and current control, which are carried out by the high-speed digital signal processor(DSP). In addition the PWM inverter is controlled by space voltage PWM method. This system is implemented using by 32-bit DSP(TMS32OC31), a high-integrated logic device(EPM940), and IPM(Intelligent Power Module) for compact and powerful system design. The experimental results show the effective performance of controller for careless linear synchronous motor.

  • We utilize as a processor TMS320C25 (Texas Instrument) in making a driver for a 4 pole PM synchronous servo motor. TMS320C25 has a 32bit ALU and a 16 bit hardware multiplier, and the maximum instruction execution rate is 10MIPS at 40MHz. We adopted a space vector modulation PWM method. An interesting point of this work is that PWM wave is generated by utilizing timer interrupts. Hence, in the rest of time the processor can take care of the other routine such as Park's coordinate transformation and the computation required in the feedback loops. Thus, it mates the hardware circuit very simple. Due to the decrease in the number of components, the motor drive system becomes more fault-tolerant and cost-optimized. Also, more flexibility is gained in changing the control parameters.

  • The linear motor is available for linear transition motion, because of its advantages, the motor design and its application have gradually increased, but the quantitative measurement system of thrust force has not been generalized. Need analysis of correct thrust for control performance improvement of HB-LPM(HB-type Linear Pulse Motor). It is difficult to analyze HB-LPM's thrust. In this paper, HB-LPM's thrust is expressed to mathematical expression. And it is proved validity of this numerical formula by thrust measurement system. Two phase driver is composed. It is verified validity of numerical formula that measure waveform of electric current and voltage that is supplied in each phase.

  • In this paper, SRM is designed and analyzed for EPS(Electrically Power Steering) application. EPS of vehicles plays a role that reduce driver's handle control power. For the proper design, FEM analysis is implemented according to the rotor structure. Designed motor is simulated with both FEM and magnetic circuit analysis, Effectiveness of the suggested SRM drive for EPS application is verified by the manufactured prototype motor drive tests.

  • This Paper described the hish performance position control for elevator using induction motor and driver. In this paper, the suitable Motor specifications for elevator drive are briefly discussed and high accuracy position control for both kinds of control method is analysed considering the parameter variation in the primary and secondary resistances. Since the pre-identified values of the motor constants are used to determine the control inputs, the performance degradation is caused by the parameter variation such as in the motor resistance. Particularly, the value of secondary resistance is considered significant because the control gain to determine the slip frequency is heavily dependent on that. The new proposed method uses on special small input signal for the parameter indentification and is expected to have the high accuracy position.

  • In this paper, micro step driving method is used for a high performance motion control and minimizing of vibration in a industrial X-Y table. By using a mathmetical analysis method of 2 phase Hybrid-type step motor, each phase current can be optimized about unit speed and torque. We can improve the electrical and mechnical driving charicteristic of machine by applying this proposed driver to the real plant using microprocessor.
