탄성밴드 저항운동이 고령여성의 신체조성, 혈관탄성 및 낙상위험도지수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Elastic Band Resistance Training on Body Composition, Arterial Compliance and Risks of Falling Index in Elderly Females)

  • 신체조성과 혈관탄성의 변화로 인한 심혈관질환과 근감소로 인한 낙상의 발생은 노화로 인하여 가장 빈번하게 발생하게 된다. 그래서 탄력밴드 저항운동은 노인들이 쉽고 안전하게 수행할 수 있으며 신체조성과 혈관탄성에 긍정적인 영향을 미칠 수 있을 것이다. 따라서 본 연구는 고령여성(>65 years)을 대상으로 12주간 저항운동을 실시한 후 신체조성, 혈관탄성, 낙상위험도지수에 어떠한 효과를 미치는지에 대하여 살펴보았다. 저항운동은 주3회 한 회당 60분으로 구성되었고 운동 강도는 Borg의 운동자각도(6 - 20)에서 11-14로 설정되었다. 신체조성에 해당하는 체중, 근육량, 체지방률, BMI(Body Mass Index)와, 혈관탄성(맥파속도 (Pulse wave velocity (PWV)), 낙상위험도지수(Risk of falling)는 훈련 전과 후에 측정이 되었다. 연구 결과 신체조성에서 운동집단의 체중(p=.003), BMI(p=.002), PWV(p=.017), 낙상위험도지수(p=.037)는 유의하게 감소하였으나 통제집단에서 체중(p=.009), BMI(p=.009)는 유의하게 증가하였다. 따라서 여성노인들은 탄력밴드 저항운동을 통해 체중과 BMI를 감소시키고 혈관탄성에 긍정적인 효과를 얻게 되었다. 그리하여 탄력밴드 저항운동은 노인들의 대사증후군, 심혈관질환, 낙상사고의 발생률을 낮출 수 있는 매우 효과적인 운동이라 할 수 있다.

Theoretical analysis of transient wave propagation in the band gap of phononic system

  • Phononic system composed of periodical elastic structures exhibit band gap phenomenon, and all elastic wave cannot propagate within the band gap. In this article, we consider one-dimensional binary materials which are periodically arranged as a 20-layered medium instead of infinite layered system for phononic system. The layered medium with finite dimension is subjected to a uniformly distributed sinusoidal loading at the upper surface, and the bottom surface is assumed to be traction free. The transient wave propagation in the 20-layered medium is analyzed by Laplace transform technique. The analytical solutions are presented in the transform domain and the numerical Laplace inversion (Durbin's formula) is performed to obtain the transient response in time domain. The numerical results show that when a sinusoidal loading with a specific frequency within band gap is applied, stress response will be significantly decayed if the receiver is away from the source. However, when a sinusoidal force with frequency is out of band gap, the attenuation of the stress response is not obvious as that in the band gap.

Comparative Study on the Effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation and Elastic Band Exercise on the Physical Function and Blood Lipid Levels of Obese Elderly Women

  • The effects of Proprioceptive Neuromuscular Facilitation (PNF) and elastic band exercise on the physical functions and blood lipids of obese elderly women were investigated. The experimental group ($n_1=16$) patients underwent PNF for 12 weeks, and the control group ($n_2=15$) patients performed elastic band exercises. SPSS 21.0 was used to compute the means and standard deviations. After the 12-week PNF, both the experimental and control groups showed statistically significant differences in the physical functions (cardiovascular endurance, strength of the lower extremity, muscular endurance, flexibility, balance, and agility) (p<.05), but the difference in the experimental group was more significant than that in the control group (p<.05). In terms of the changes in the blood lipid levels (total cholesterol, triglycerides, high-density lipoprotein, and low-density lipoprotein), the experimental group showed significant changes (p<.05). In conclusion, PNF was confirmed as more effective than elastic band exercise in improving the physical functions and blood lipid levels of obese elderly women.

앉은 자세에서 탄력밴드를 이용한 PNF 팔 패턴의 방산효과가 골반의 압력에 미치는 영향 (The Relationship of Pelvic Pressure and Irradiation of the PNF Upper Arm Pattern in the Sitting Position with an Elastic Band -A Randomized Control Trial-)

  • Purpose: This study evaluated the relationship between pelvic pressure and irradiation of the proprioceptive neuromuscular facilitation (PNF) upper arm pattern exercises with an elastic band while in a sitting position. Methods: Fourteen subjects with asymptomatic pelvic pressure participated in this study. Pelvic pressure was measured using a Gaitview® system while sitting and performing PNF bilateral upper arm patterns. Resistance strength was provided by the blue elastic band. The statistical significance of the results was evaluated using a repeated one-way ANOVA and the independent t-test. The Bonferroni method was used for the post-hoc test. Results: The results revealed a significant change in the pelvic pressure when performing the PNF arm pattern. The average resistance pressure on the pelvis, with the elastic band, significantly increased after the initial sitting position (F=3.91, 3.92; p<0.05). No significant pelvic pressure changes were noted for each PNF upper arm pattern (p>0.05). Conclusion: The results of this study showed a positive relationship between pelvic pressure and the irradiation of PNF upper arm pattern exercises with resistance in the sitting position.

운동유형별 뇌졸중 환자의 기능적 수행능력 변화 I : 보행시 하지근육 활성도 분석 (Changes of Functional Performance Ability in Stroke Patients by Exercise Types I : Analysis of Lower Extremity Muscle Activity during Walking)

  • 본 연구는 운동유형별 운동 전후 뇌졸중 환자의 보행시 하지근육 활성도의 차이를 비교 분석하여 임상에서 기능적 수행능력의 개선을 위한 효과적인 근력강화 방법을 제시하는데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 운동치료군, 탄성밴드군 및 신장반사군으로 구분하여 각각 7명씩 총 21명을 대상으로 하였고, 운동프로그램은 8주 동안 주 5회 실시하였다. 1차 단하지 지지기에서 장요근 및 대퇴이두근의 %MVIC는 신장반사군이 운동치료군과 탄성밴드군보다 높은 수준을 보였고, 반면 전경골근의 %MVIC는 탄성밴드군이 운동치료군보다 낮은 수준을 보였다. 2차 양하지 지지기에서 장요근의 %MVIC는 신장반사군이 운동치료군과 탄성밴드군보다 높은 수준을 보였고, 반면 내측 비복근의 %MVIC는 신장반사군이 운동치료군보다 낮은 수준을 보였다. 결론적으로 신장반사 운동은 운동치료와 탄성밴드를 이용한 근력강화 운동 보다 고관절의 안정성 및 하지 분절의 운동성을 제공하는 주요 근육의 활성도에 효과적인 영향을 미침으로써 임상에서 근 약화로 인한 운동 기능이 제한된 편마비 환자에게 실용적으로 접근할 수 있는 운동방법이라고 판단된다.

Effect of Elastic-Band Exercise and Cognitive Rehabilitation in Cognition and Walking Speed of Elderly People -Pilot Study-

  • Objective: This study aims to recognize the risk of current traffic systems and to investigate a method to decrease risk by doing exercise using an elastic-band and cognitive rehabilitation. Background: The existing traffic system usually focuses on the ordinary citizens, which may not be appropriate to the elderly. It may affect the cognition and walking speed of the elderly. This study tries to examine whether cognition and muscle training is appropriate to improve their vulnerability. Therefore this study will provide human ergonomics - based basic data in relation to the elderly to identify the risk of current signal system and to mitigate the risk. Method: A total of 30 elderly participants were divided into two groups: experimental and control groups. Experimental group (n=15) was trained to strengthen their muscles and to promote cognition, whereas control group (n=15) was not. The training was conducted twice a week for three weeks. To strengthen muscles, a yellow colored elastic-band was used, and a computer program for cognitive rehabilitation was used to develop cognition. In the experimental group, there were significant differences between pre and post exercises However, the control group didn't show any significant difference. The increase in cognition and walking speed was found in the experimental group, whereas there were no differences in the control group. Statistically there was no significant difference between the two groups. Results: The results of this study show that the exercise program using the elastic-band gave a positive effect on gait training thanks to the development of muscle power and balance. Conclusion: This study did not show any statistical difference or significant differences between the two groups, since time was restricted, we believe. Application: The results of the walking speed will help to prevent traffic collision.

탄력밴드 운동프로그램이 대학생의 근력과 운동수행능력에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Elastic-band and Stretching Exercise Program on Muscular Strength and Exercise Performance Ability of College Students)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness and analyse the change on muscular strength and exercise performance ability of university students participating in leisure sports by elastic-band exercise program. Method : The subjects(N=22) participating in leisure sports are recruited from K university located in Chungbuk. The subjects which are divided to 2 groups as experimental group(N=11) conducted elastic-band exercise program and control group(N=11) conducted stretching program. The muscular strength and exercise performance ability were measured before and after intervention. Result : There were no significant differences(p>.05) in sex, age, height, and weight among subjects. In the measurement of muscular strength, a significant difference(p<.05) was observed in each group, and there was also significant difference(p<.05) between two groups except gastrocnemius(p>.05). A significant difference(p<.05) in muscular volume was observed in each group, and there was also significant difference(p<.05) between two groups apart from gastrocnemius(p>.05). In exercise performance ability, there was significant difference(p<.05) in sergent jump and side-step in each group, and there was a significant difference(p<.05) between two groups in sergent jump, but there was no significant difference(p>0.5) in side-step. Conclusion : Based on this study, through a variety of age and various intervention period to apply more subjects conducting elastic-band exercise program should continue.

탄력밴드를 이용한 1회성 동체 PNF 스트레칭이 고등학교 야구선수의 피칭속도에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of PNF Stretching with Elastic Band on Ball Speed of High School Baseball Players)

  • 본 연구는 고등학교 야구선수를 대상으로 운동 전 탄력밴드를 이용한 1회성 동체 PNF 스트레칭 운동을 통해 동체의 관절가동범위 및 구속변화에 어떠한 영향을 주는지를 알아봄에 연구의 목적이 있다. 이를 위하여 현재 I 광역시 소재 고등학교 소속 야구선수 11명을 대상으로 동체 PNF 스트레칭을 던지는 팔을 중심으로 전방 및 후방향으로 각 30회 실시한 후 동체 관절가동범위와 구속을 측정하였으며, 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 동체 PNF 스트레칭 운동 후 동체 관절가동범위는 유의한 증가를 보였다. 둘째, PNF 스트레칭 운동 후 최고, 최저 및 평균구속은 유의하게 증가하였다. 셋째, PNF 동체스트레칭 운동 후 선수들의 투구시 힘듦 정도는 유의하게 감소하였다. 이러한 결과는 야구선수들의 탄력밴드를 이용한 1회성 동체 PNF 스트레칭 운동을 통해 ROM 증가 및 구속증가를 기대할 수 있음을 나타낸다.

어깨뼈 안정화 근육 강화가 둥근 어깨에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Strengthening on Scapular Stabilizer Muscles for the Rounded Shoulders)

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study was compared for rounded scapular between strechting on pectoralis minoor and strengthening on scapular stabilizer muscles. Methods : The main laboratory had an experiment of the exercise for rounded shoulder posture with 30 patients on a pectoralis minor stretching and scapula to stabilize the elastic band to divide into two groups in this study which were conducted. Results : Acromial height measured from changes of the rounded shoulder posture changes before and after workouts; stretching before exercise in the exercise group is from $94.19{\pm}3.47$ to after result of $94.84{\pm}3.19$, and the after exercise of an elastic band pre-exercise in the exercise group is from $93.60{\pm}3.42$ to $88.68{\pm}3.49$, dividing into two groups, which increased significantly. Compared to an acromial height variation results before and after workouts; stretching exercise group made $3.07{\pm}1.43$, $4.91{\pm}2.24$ and elastic band exercise group, $4.91{\pm}2.24$, which shows the difference between the two groups and was not statistically significant. Conclusion : Against a pectoralis minor that cause the findings of this study, RSP proximately shows serratus anterior and the strengthening of trapezius by exercises of the shoulder peaks which decrease in height arbitration scheme of a pectoralis minor stretching effect as shown. Therefore, it is expected RSP patients in clinical intervention methods combined with stretching exercises strengthens muscles against an elastic band exercise effective.

Effects of 8-Week Elastic Resistance Exercise on Knee Isokinetic Rate of Velocity Development and Balance by Age

  • Ten women in their 20s and 10 women in their 50s were selected to investigate the effect of an elastic band exercise program for 8 weeks according to age on women's knee speed expression rate and balance. Knee isokinetic muscle strength measurement, single-legged standing with eyes closed, and YBT were performed 1 week before and after the exercise program. The measured data were analyzed through a mixed design two-way ANOVA, and if there was a significant difference, post hoc verification was performed using the bonferoni method. In our study, as a result of an 8-week elastic band exercise program, there was no difference in the speed development rate according to the measurement period, and the speed development rate according to age was found to be higher in people in their 50s than in their 20s. In our study, there was no difference in balance ability depending on the measurement period, and there was also no difference in balance ability depending on age. Discussing the results of our study, we found that 8 weeks of elastic band exercise cannot bring about significant changes in speed development ability and balance ability, which become more accurate with age.
