차체 판넬의 가공 제작을 위한 금형형상의 효율적 모델링 (Efficient modeling of die-face shapes for stamping automobile outer panels)

  • A procedure has been developed so that a die-face for stamping automobile outer panels can be design and modelled efficiently. The procedure is composed of four parts each of which corresponds to modeling major components of a die-face, i.e. tipped product, blankholder, draw beads, and step draw. The modeling techniques developed specifically for die-face design enable a designer to generate the shape of a die-face quickly with the minimum input, and the resulting models can be used in FEM analysis and NC tool path generation. This will lead to the reductions in lead time and manhours required for the design and manufacture of the stamping dies.

  • 본 고에서는 IP의 요구조건을 기능적인 면과 성능적인 면으로 나누어 설명하고 기능면에서는 소재의 물성을 평가하여 Guideline을 제시하고자하며 성능적인 면에서는 설계과정에서 사전에 성능을 평가하는 작업을 거침으로써 가능한 저렴한 재질로서 주어진 성능을 만족하고 또한 개발과정에서의 시행착오를 줄이는 방안을 제시하고자 한다.

  • The bounded adjustment is known to be more efficient than repeated adjustment when the cost is incurred for engineering process control. The procedure of the bounded adjustment is to adjust the process when the one-step predicted deviation exceeds the adjustment limit by the amount of the prediction. In this paper, two run rules are proposed and studied In order to improve the efficiency of the traditional bounded adjustment procedure. The efficiency is studied in terms of the standardized cost through Monte Carlo simulation when the procedure is operated with and without the run rules. The adjustment procedure operated with run rules turns out to be more robust for changes in the process and cost parameters.

  • For successful implementation of robotic painting system, a structured design and analysis procedure is necessary. In designing robotic system, both functional and economical feasibility should be investigated. As the robotization is complicated task involving implementation details(such as robot selection, accessory design, and spatial layout) together with operation details, a computerized method should be sought. However, any conventional robotic design system and off-line programming system cannot accomodate such a need. In this research, we develop an interactive design support system for robotization of a cycle painting line. With the developed system called SPRPL(Simulation Package for Robotic Painting Line) users can design the painting objects(via FRAME module), select robot model (ROBOT), design the part hanger (FEEDER), and arrange the workcell. After motion programming (MOTION), the design is evaluated in terms of: a) workspace analysis, b) coating thickness analysis, and c) cycle time (ANALYSIS). By iterative design and evaluation procedure, a feasible and efficient robotic design can be attained. As the developed system has motion planning and analysis features, it can be also used as an off-line robot programming system in operation stage. Including the details of each module, this paper also presents a case study made for an actual painting line.

  • 현재 국내에서는 도심지 및 주거지에 원활한 물순환 구조를 이루기 위해 저영향개발에 근거한 투수성 포장 시스템 구축에 대한 시도를 하고 있다. 본 연구는 투수성 아스팔트 포장 구조 설계를 위한 포장인자 구축 및 설계법을 제안하고자 한다. 선행 연구 분석 결과, 1993년 AASHTO 설계법이 적합한 것으로 확인 되었다. 본 연구에서는 투수성 아스팔트 포장 재료의 상대구조계수 같은 주요 설계인자를 선행연구 분석을 통해 정량적으로 산정하였으며, 1993년 AASHTO 설계법 및 국내국도설계기준을 적용한 투수성 포장 구조 설계 프로그램을 개발하였다. 본 연구에서 개발된 프로그램 및 한국형 도로 설계법 프로그램을 비교한 결과 다양한 교통량 및 노반 지지력 조건에서 합리적인 포장 설계 두께를 산정하는 것을 확인하였다.

형상 최적설계를 위한 최적화 기법에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Techniques of Configuration Optimization)

  • 본 연구는 구조물의 형상 최적화를 효율적이면서 보다 용이하게 수행할 수 있는 기법을 제안하고자 하였다. 구조물의 형상 표현과 설계변수 선택을 위해 설계요소 개념을 활용하여 설계변수 수를 과감하게 줄일 수 있었고, 등매개변수 사상기법을 이용하여 최적화 과정 중 형상의 변화에 따른 유한요소망을 자동생성 하였으며 효율적인 최적화 과정 수행을 위하여 결정론적 최적화 기법(개선된 허용방향법)과 스토캐스틱 최적화 기법(유전 알고리즘)을 사용하여 그 결과와 효율성을 비교하였다. 최적화 과정 중 구조해석은 유한요소법을 이용하며 구조물의 부피와 단면적 등을 목적함수로 하여 형상 최적화를 수행하였다. 또한 제작성과 시공성을 위한 최종형상 제시를 위하여 최적형상에 완화곡선 처리를 시도하였다. 이상의 연구를 강구조물을 대상으로 한 몇 가지 수치 예에 적용한 결과 설계과정을 보다 단순화시켰으며, 두 가지 기법 모두 최적해에 수렴함으로써 목적함수 값을 효과적으로 개선시킬 수 있었다. 따라서 본 연구는 그 타당성과 적용성이 있다고 판명된다.

카탈로그 데이터베이스를 이용한 선박 배관부품의 효과적인 모델링 절차 개발 사례 (An Application of Catalogue Database for the Modeling of Pipe Parts in Ship Design)

  • Outfitting systems in marine vessels have many kinds of standard parts. Ship CAD system should support the designers with an efficient tool for the modeling of outfitting parts such as pipes and valves. We develop a practical procedure for a part master model that combines ship CAD systems with the industrial standard. Part master or catalogue database of standard equipments is included in the database of ship CAD. The part master makes the associations of three dimensional modeling with the industrial standard. Moreover, it reflects the automatic modeling to maintain attributes that are disclosed in the entity of each part master in order to reduce the modeling time. Entity and attributes of pipe and valves are chosen from JIS(Japanese Industrial Standards) in order to explain the proposed procedure. Suggested procedure explains that three dimensional model of equipment is generated by parsing the pre-defined attributes after the entities of part masters is stored in database.

  • Viscoelastic damping materials are widely used to reduce noise and vibration because of its low cost and easy implementation, for examples, on the body structure of passenger cars, air planes, electric appliances and ships. To design the damped structures, the material property such as elastic modulus and loss factor is essential information. The four-parameter fractional derivative model well describes the nonlinear dynamic characteristics of the viscoelastic damping materials with respect to both frequency and temperature with fewer parameters than conventional spring-dashpot models. However the identification procedure of the four-parameter is very time-consuming one. An efficient identification procedure of the four-parameters is proposed by using an FE model and a gradient-based numerical search algorithm. The identification procedure goes two sequential steps to make measured FRFs coincident with simulated FRFs: the first one is a peak alignment step and the second one is an amplitude adjustment. A numerical example shows that the proposed method is efficient and robust in identifying the viscoelastic material parameters of fractional derivative model.

Ultimate compressive strength predictions of CFT considering the nonlinear Poisson effect

  • Concrete-filled steel tubes are among the most efficient compressive structural members because the strength of the concrete is enhanced given that the surrounding steel tube confines the concrete laterally and the steel tube is restrained with regard to inward deformation due to the concrete existing inside. Accurate estimations of the ultimate compressive strength of CFT are important for efficient designs of CFT members. In this study, an analytical procedure that directly formulates the interaction between the concrete and steel tube by considering the nonlinear Poisson effect and stress-strain curve of the concrete including the confinement effect is proposed. The failure stress of concrete and von-Mises failure yield criterion of steel were used to consider multi-dimensional stresses. To verify the prediction capabilities of the proposed analytical procedure, 99 circular CFT experimental data instances from other studies were used for a comparison with AISC, Eurocode 4, and other researchers' predictions. From the comparison, it was revealed that the proposed procedure more accurately predicted the ultimate compressive strength of a circular CFT regardless of the range of the design variables, in this case the concrete compressive strength, yield strength of the steel tube and diameter relative to the thickness ratio of the tube.

  • Generally, the assembly system relied on conveyor lines is efficient for mass production. But it is not efficient when the product types are often varying and their lot sizes are small. Especially, it is much inefficient for the assembly lines for the electronic products whose types are varying very often. This paper suggests the design of U-shaped assembly lines to replace the existing conveyor systems. The assembly line for the mini-cassette production is dealt with as a case study. The proposed procedure was successfully applied for the design of U-shaped lines. The developed method resulted in the improvement of the productivity such as the decrease of the man power and the cycle time, and the increase of the line utility.
