The effect of job satisfaction and self leadership of members of small and middle-sized hospital on organizational commitment (중소병원 구성원의 직무만족과 셀프리더십이 조직몰입에 미치는 영향)

  • The study was a descriptive research to investigate the effect of job satisfaction and self-leadership of members of small and middle-sized hospital on organizational commitment. Collection of data was conducted throughout members of small and middle-sized hospitals with explanation of purpose from 2011, Oct, 1st to 10th. Collected data was analyzed by T-test, ANOVA, Scheffe test and hierarchical regression analysis with utilizing SPSS Win 16.0. As a result of the expected effect, a degree of effect on organizational commitment has explanation 65.1%(F=183.804) on job satisfaction and self leadership. Also, it was job satisfaction that was found to be more effective, where explanation for it was ${\beta}$=.755 and self-leadership ${\beta}$=.264. With considering these facts, both factors are effective for organizational commitment. Therefore, to improve organizational commitment, it pays systemized strategies and ever more proactive efforts. To strengthen the self leadership, it needs changes in cultural aspects of hospitals to enlarge accessibility to information and opportunities for education and to expand freedom in their responsibility. Great effort on changing in cultural aspects of hospital would, based on effective interrelationship with members, improve efficacies of organization and efficiency of management.

  • This study aims to understand the relation between the perceived social exchange of employees in service industry, which is focused on food service industry, and the organizational citizenship behavior, and to consider the efficiency of human resources management in service industry. To achieve the purpose of this study, a documentary study and an empirical study based on a structural equation model analysis were carried out. In this study, the social exchange consist of perceived leader support, perceived coworker support, and perceived organization support. Also the organizational citizenship behavior consist of organizational citizenship behavior for individual and organizational citizenship behavior for organization. And then, the relation between the variables was found out. Finally, based upon the results of analysis, this study was suggested for human resources management in service industry.

The Roles of Organizational Learning Capability and Firm Innovation in the Relationship between Entrepreneurial Orientation and Firm Performance

  • This research aims to examine the relationships among entrepreneurial orientation, organizational learning capability, firm innovation, and firm performance. To achieve a data collection, a mail survey procedure via questionnaire was implemented by using executives or managers of gems & jewelry industries, textile and clothing industries, leather and accessories, fashion apparel industries in Thailand as the key informants. Of the surveys completed and returned, 388 were usable. Hence, a model with a structural equation was used to evaluate the data survey of 388 respondents. The results reveal that, in terms of the mediating effect, organizational learning capacity and firm innovation can complement each other in order to improve entrepreneurial orientation. Findings show that entrepreneurial orientation improves firm innovation, which in turn improves firm efficiency. Firm innovation acts as a variable mediating between enterprise orientation and firm performance. Our findings contribute to the current emergence of organizational learning capacity that mediated the relationship between entrepreneurial orientation and firm performance. Entrepreneurial orientation is normally a firm performance that enterprises develop which can have use the information available and make an impact. It can be considered through the mediation of organizational learning capability, and firm innovation variable and as stated in previous literature, it can influence firm performance.

The Relationships between Job Characteristics and Empowerment, Organizational Commitment of Physical Therapist to Professionalism of Rehabilitation Service (재활의료서비스 전문성을 위한 물리치료의 직무특성과 임파워먼트 및 조직몰입 간의 관계)

  • Purpose : This study purposes to suggest some basic data for the efficiency of a hospital management by drawing out the efficient ways to manage manpower to professionalism of rehabilitation service. Methods : The study used the questionnaire written by respondents themselves, and conducted the regression analysis on the relationships among the job characteristics, the empowerment and organizational commitment. Rusults : Among job characteristics, the wage was the influential factor on the empowerment(psychological, structural), and the specialty physical therapist license was the factor affecting on the psychological empowerment. Among the psychological empowerment factors, the higher meaning of his/her existence, the lower self-decision level, the higher structural empowerment are, the higher organizational commitment was. Conclusion : There were not identified any significant job characteristics influencing on the organizational commitment. Among the structural empowerment factors, the apply of job performance was the largest factor affecting on the organizational commitment.

  • The purpose of TQM (Total Quality Management)-centered organizational culture is to enhance the efficiency of business through the proper allocation and concentration of restricted resources. In order to maximize the corporate profitability through customer satisfaction, what kind of, when and how many resources should be allocated and managed to the preventive TQM activities and corrective TQM activities have become a very important decision making factors at the point of high management. This study aims to identify the causal relationships of quality-centered organizational culture on service quality and customer satisfaction relating to service failure in food service industry. And this study is intended to discover the factors of quality-centered organizational culture which impacts on service recovery justice after service failure happens, and it can be helpful for the top managers to make a decision to how to form corporate structural culture.

  • This study attempted to examine what effect knowledge management factors have on cooperative organizational culture regarding knowledge sharing depending on workplace types and occupations in order to seek for solution to increase efficiency and effects of knowledge management in the hospital organization. Key findings are as follows: For members of the hospital organization, the higher their recognition was in relation to 'concern and support of chief executive officer for knowledge management', and 'problem solution by specialists or superior in the organization and acquisition on the task knowledge', the more they worked as factors exerting positive effects on 'cooperative organizational culture regarding knowledge sharing'. And influence factors were different depending on workplace types and occupation.

  • There are many researches on the organization formation and business strategy of architecture firms to improve of organizational capability. However the previous researches have been only focused on the improvement of organizational capability and efficiency in management parts of view. There have been lack of the researches on evaluation of organizational capability. Especially, there are no researches on the evaluation of organizational capability reflecting the characteristics of architecture firms which is mainly operated by human resources. Therefore, the objective of this research is to develope a index frame for evaluating organizational capability of architecture firms in Korea. The proposed indexes can be used in evaluation of organizational capability and analysis on correlation between organizational capability and performance of organization in architecture firms.

  • This paper aims to explore the relationship between organizational competencies and performance by analysing perception survey data of R&D management agencies in Korea. The regression analysis results show the perceived performance measured by policy contribution and R&D management efficiency may be enhanced by organizational competencies such as professionalism and efficiency of R&D management specialized agencies. The paper suggests several improvement measures for strengthening professionalism of R&D management agencies in Korea. First, expertise competencies for strategic planning, management, evaluation need to be empowered in the whole process of R&D cycles. Second, in order to stabilize financial resources of R&D management specialized agencies, the existing R&D budget for Planing, Evaluation and Management should be reformed. Third, R&D management specialized agencies need setting up special organizations for managing inter-organizational collaboration with other R&D organizations. And the agencies should employ special experts in each position for strategic planning, management, evaluation, performance and commercialization. Finally, different R&D management procedures of each R&D management specialized agency need to be standardized in order to promote innovative R&D culture.

Examining Organizational Factors Impacting IoT Implementation, Production, Services, and Performance in the Thai Manufacturing and Distribution Sector

  • This study investigates the organizational factors including firm size, adaptive capability, absorptive capability, innovative capability, and executive support to determine internet of things, production and services, and organizational performance. Research design, data, and methodology: A quantitative methodology was employed, involving the distribution of surveys to 460 employees occupying managerial and strategic roles. These individuals have accrued a minimum of one year of experience within 20 leading manufacturing and distribution companies in Thailand, each boasting a workforce exceeding 250 employees. Sampling techniques utilized encompass judgmental, quota, and snowball sampling. Furthermore, analysis of the data was conducted through Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) and Structural Equation Model (SEM). Results: The findings indicate that factors such as firm size, adaptive capability, absorptive capability, and innovative capability exert significant influence on the Internet of Things (IoT). In addition, IoT significantly impacts both production and services. Furthermore, the study highlights the significant influence of production and services on organizational performance. However, the anticipated relationship between executive support and IoT lacks support according to the results. Conclusions: This study highlights the transformative potential of IoT for the manufacturing and distribution sector, paving the way for enhanced efficiency, competitiveness, and sustainability in a rapidly evolving business landscape.

Structural Equation Modeling of Quality of Work Life in Clinical Nurses based on the Culture-Work-Health Model (Culture-Work-Health 모델에 근거한 임상간호사의 직장 삶의 질 구조모형 구축)

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study was to construct and test a structural equation model of quality of work life for clinical nurses based on Peterson and Wilson's Culture-Work-Health model (CWHM). Methods: A structured questionnaire was completed by 523 clinical nurses to analyze the relationships between concepts of CWHM-organizational culture, social support, employee health, organizational health, and quality of work life. Among these conceptual variables of CWHM, employee health was measured by perceived health status, and organizational health was measured by presenteeism. SPSS21.0 and AMOS 21.0 programs were used to analyze the efficiency of the hypothesized model and calculate the direct and indirect effects of factors affecting quality of work life among clinical nurses. Results: The goodness-of-fit statistics of the final modified hypothetical model are as follows: ${\chi}^2=586.03$, ${\chi}^2/df=4.19$, GFI=.89, AGFI=.85, CFI=.91, TLI=.90, NFI=.89, and RMSEA=.08. The results revealed that organizational culture, social support, organizational health, and employee health accounted for 69% of clinical nurses' quality of work life. Conclusion: The major findings of this study indicate that it is essential to create a positive organizational culture and provide adequate organizational support to maintain a balance between the health of clinical nurses and the organization. Further repeated and expanded studies are needed to explore the multidimensional aspects of clinical nurses' quality of work life in Korea, including various factors, such as work environment, work stress, and burnout.
