Client satisfaction(CS) has played an important role in the assessment of health service quality. Thus client satisfaction management(CSM) has been highlighted as one of strategic management. Specifically, the client satisfaction approach by moment of truth(MOT) makes significant contributions to the settlement of bottlenecks on client satisfaction. This research deals with the two issues of client satisfaction in large, small and medium sized hospitals. With regard to CS, one issue is to examine the difference of patient satisfaction through MOT between them and the other derives a strategy for improving client satisfaction from the viewpoint of small and medium sized hospitals. We use the survey data for 4 large and 14 small and medium sized hospitals in 1998. Major findings of this research can be summarized as follows: first, in case of outpatients, small and medium sized hospitals have a comparative advantage on contact-points of preparation and accounts over large ones. Second, while inpatients in small and medium sized hospitals are very satisfied with the contact-point of accounts, they are dissatisfied with the contact-points of facilities and hospital rooms. Under the given budget and time constraints, the settlement of these bottlenecks could be effective strategies for improving their patients' satisfaction.
The effects of post-cultural addition of liquid medium addition to stimulate in vitro bulblet growth in Lilium oriental hybrid 'Casa Blanca' were investigated. The sections of bulblets with swollen basal plate (7 mm$\times$12 mm) were cultured on medium containing 60 g/L sucrose and 1 g/L activated charcoal for two months in dark, and then, liquid medium was added into the same vessels. The addition of liquid medium stimulated the growth of bulblets remarkably, compared to no addition of liquid medium. The liquid medium supplemented with 120 g/L sucrose and double strength of MS salts were the most effective on the growth of in vitro bulblets.
In order to develop a new improved selective medium for the Bifidobacterium sp. from the human fecal samples, one hundred eight Bifidobacterium strains were isolated and identified. Sensitivity test for the antibiotics and antimetabolites and test for the specific substrate were performed to obtain basic data for the development of the Bifidobacterium selective medium. TOS(transgalactosylated oligosaccharide) was shown to be preferentially used by Bifidobacterium sp.. Sodium propionate promoted the growth of Bifidobacterium while inhibiting other intestinal bacteria. Upon these results, TP medium was designed and shown to be very effective for the selection of Bifidobacterium and better than Mitsuoka BS medium.
The experimental methods to rapidly and stably reproduce Microbially Influenced Corrosion (MIC) of stainless steel by sulfate-reducing bacteria such as Desulfovibrio vulgaris were developed. In this study, using two types of stainless steel, 304 and 444, obtained from Pohang Steel & Iron Co., Ltd. (POSCO)., three major factors were tested; overall medium composition, dilution ratio, and chloride concentration. In the overall medium tests, three different media were prepared according to $FeSO_4$ concentration; PM (original Postgate's medium No. 2), MPM 1 (modified PM, no $FeSO_4$, MPM 2 (modified PM, 1/10 $FeSO_4$). The effects of various dilution ratios (3, 1, 1/3, 1/10, 1/30, and 1/100 times) and chloride concentrations (0.0067M, 0.01M, 0.05M, and 0.1M) were examined during 2 months cultivation. Through SEM (Scanning Electron Microscopy) observation, the diluted and modified media, particularly the $1/3{\times}MPM$ I medium, showed more micro-pitting points on surfaces compared to the original PM medium. High concentrations of chloride ions (above 0.05M) were not adequate for observation of MIC since those brought about non-microbiologically induced corrosion. From this study, the optimization of medium composition was very effective to routinely observe MIC in a laboratory system.
This study was conducted to investigate the effect of culture media and environment on PLB proliferation by using PLBs produced from leaf segments excised from shoot of Phalanopsis flower stalk. The fresh weight of PLBs propagated was higher in MS medium than in NDM (New Dogashima medium) or VW, but the condition of PLB was better in NDM medium. Natural additives of Coconut water, potato and apple were absolutely required for the PLB propagation. PLB propagation was better in solid medium than in liquid medium including cotton as support. Optimal sucrose concentration for proliferation was 10 g/L. PLB proliferation was very effective condition 14.3 $\mu$mol.s$^{-1}$ m$^{-2}$ in PPFD and $25^{\circ}C$.
In this study, we analyzed the effect of silicon oxynitride matrix on the optical properties of Au nanoparticles dispersed on composite film and explored the effectiveness of the silicon in fine tuning the refractive index of the composite film for applications in optical waveguide devices. The atomic fraction of nitrogen in $SiO_xN_y$ films was controlled by varying the relative flow ratio of nitrogen gas in reactive sputtering and was evaluated optically using an effective medium theory with Bruggeman geometry consisting of a random mixture between $SiO_2$ and $Si_3N_4$. The Au nanoparticles were embedded in the $SiO_xN_y$ matrix by employing the alternating deposition technique and clearly showed an absorption peak due to the excitation of surface plasmon. With increasing nitrogen atomic fraction in the matrix, the surface plasmon resonance wavelength shifted to a longer wavelength (a red-shift) with an enhanced resonance absorption. These characteristics were interpreted using the Maxwell-Garnett effective medium theory. The formation of a guided mode in a slab waveguide consisting of 3 $\mu$m thick Au:$SiO_xN_y$ nanocomposite film was confirmed at the telecommunication wavelength of 1550 nm by prism coupler method and compared with the case of using $SiO_2$ matrix. The use of $SiO_xN_y$ matrix provides an effective way of controlling the mode confinement while maintaining or even enhancing the surface plasmon resonance properties.
Purpose: There is a difficulty in Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) test design for weapon system's electrical/electronic components/products in small and medium-sized enterprises. To overcome this difficulty, I propose an easy ESS test design approach algorithm that is optimized with only one environment tolerance design information parameter (${\Delta}T$). Methods: To propose the mass production weapon system ESS test design for cost-effective optimization, I define an optimum cost-effective mathematical model ESS test algorithm model based on modified MIL-HDBK-344, MIL-HDBK-2164 and DTIC Technical Report 2477. Results: I clearly confirmed and obtained the quantitative data of ESS effectiveness and cost optimization along our ESS test design algorithm through the practical case. I will expect that proposed ESS test method is used for ESS process improvement activity and cost cutting of mass production weapon system manufacturing cost in small and medium-sized enterprises. Conclusion: In order to compare the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, I compared the effectiveness of the existing ESS test and the proposed algorithm ESS test based on the existing weapon system circuit card assembly for signal processing. As a result of the comparison, it was confirmed that the test time was reduced from 573.0 minutes to 517.2minutes (9.74% less than existing test time).
The purpose of the present study was to investigate how two types of cooperative groupworks will affect learners' academic self-efficacy and English achievement in the first graders of Middle school. Experimental class A was done by similar-level groupwork, experimental class B by differential-level groupwork, and controlled class C by whole classwork. In order to accomplish the goals of the study, questionnaires on learners' academic self-efficacy were examined before and after the experiment. Also English achievement tests were done during the experiment. The analytic results of the questionnaires and English achievement tests were like the following conclusions: First, two types of cooperative groupworks were more effective on improving learners' academic self-efficacy than the whole classwork. Second, two types of cooperative groupworks were more effective on improving two levels' (higher and medium) academic self-efficacy. Third, among three types of classworks, differential-level groupwork was the most effective on improving learners' English achievement. Fourth, in case of medium-level learners, differential-level groupwork was more effective on improving their English achievement than similar-level groupwork.
This study was carried out to investigate the effect of thidiazuron(TDZ) on callus and shoot primordia formation, to determine the most optimum multiple shoot induction medium, and to obtain the plantlets on solid medium via shoot organogenesis. TDZ 0.01 mg/L in MS medium was most effective on callus formation, and BA 0.1 mg/L was most effective on shoot growth, while TDZ 0.01 mg/L was most effective on callus formation. TDZ 0.001 mg/L was most effective in shoot primordia formation. Shoot tips were cultured with TDZ 0.01 mg/L for 8 weeks and induced callus was transferred to regeneration medium containing TDZ 0.001 mg/L. After 4 weeks induced shoot primordia were resubcultured at growth regulator-free medium for 4 weeks. The induced multiple shoots rooted more efficiently at NAA 1.0, 5.0 mg/L, or IBA 5.0 mg/L.

Purpose : The aim of this study is to investigate the effect of tissue inhomogeneities when appling to contrast medium among Homogeneous, Batho and ETAR dose calculation method in RTP system. Method and Material : We made customized heterogeneous phantom it filled with water or contrast medium slab. Phantom scan data have taken PQ 5000 (CT scanner, Marconi, USA) and then dose was calculated in 3D RTP (AcQ-Plan, Marconi, USA) depends on dose calculation algorithm (Homogeneous, Batho, ETAR). The dose comparisons were described in terms of 2D isodose distribution, percent depth dose data, effective path length and monitor unit. Also dose distributions were calculated with homogeneous and inhomogeneous correction algorithm, Batho and ETAR, in each patients with different clinical sites. Results : Result indicated that Batho and ETAR method gave rise to percent depth dose deviation $1.5{\sim}2.7\%,\;2.3{\sim}3.5\%$ (6MV, field size $10{\times}10cm^2$) in each status with and without contrast medium. Also show that effective path lengths were more increase in contrast status (23.14 cm) than Non-contrast (22.07 cm) about $4.9\%$ or 10.7 mm (In case Hounsfield Unit 270) and these results were similary showned in each patient with different clinical site that was lung. prostate, liver and brain region. Concliusion : In conclusion we shown that the use of inhomogeneity correction algorithm for dose calculation in status of injected contrast medium can not represent exact dose at GTV region. These results mean that patients will be more irradiated photon beam during radiation therapy.
