A Study on Effective Source-Skin Distance using Phantom in Electron Beam Therapy

  • In this study, for 6-20 MeV electron beam energy occurring in a linear accelerator, the authors attempted to investigate the relation between the effective source-skin distance and the relation between the radiation field and the effective source-skin distance. The equipment used included a 6-20 MeV electron beam from a linear accelerator, and the distance was measured by a ionization chamber targeting the solid phantom. The measurement method for the effective source-skin distance according to the size of the radiation field changes the source-skin distance (100, 105, 110, 115 cm) for the electron beam energy (6, 9, 12, 16, 20 MeV). The effective source-skin distance was measured using the method proposed by Faiz Khan, measuring the dose according to each radiation field ($6{\times}6$, $10{\times}10$, $15{\times}150$, $20{\times}20cm^2$) at the maximum dose depth (1.3, 2.05, 2.7, 2.45, 1.8 cm, respectively) of each energy. In addition, the effective source-skin distance when cut-out blocks ($6{\times}6$, $10{\times}10$, $15{\times}15cm^2$) were used and the effective source-skin distance when they were not used, was measured and compared. The research results showed that the effective source-skin distance was increased according to the increase of the radiation field at the same amount of energy. In addition, the minimum distance was 60.4 cm when the 6 MeV electron beams were used with $6{\times}6$ cut-out blocks and the maximum distance was 87.2 cm when the 6 MeV electron beams were used with $20{\times}20$ cut-out blocks; thus, the largest difference between both of these was 26.8 cm. When comparing the before and after the using the $6{\times}6$ cut-out block, the difference between both was 8.2 cm in 6 MeV electron beam energy and was 2.1 cm in 20 MeV. Thus, the results showed that the difference was reduced according to an increase in the energy. In addition, in the comparative experiments performed by changing the size of the cut-out block at 6 MeV, the results showed that the source-skin distance was 8.2 cm when the size of the cut-out block was $6{\times}6$, 2.5 cm when the size of the cut-out block was $10{\times}10$, and 21.4 cm when the size of the cut-out block $15{\times}15$. In conclusion, it is recommended that the actual measurement is used for each energy and radiation field in the clinical dose measurement and for the measurement of the effective source-skin distance using cut-out blocks.

웹 캠을 이용한 스테레오 영상의 3차원 거리 측정 (3D Distance Measurement of Stereo Images Using Web Cams)

  • In this paper, we propose a three dimensional distance measurement method for a stereo system by using web cams. Using a parallel stereo system, a robot gets two images from each webcam and equalize brightness of both images. And we suggest an image processing method such as labeling, isolating an object from background and finding center of an object. We also propose a method of calculating the focal distance by using least square algorithm based on triangulation and we can reduce calculation error by this method. From experimental results, we show that the proposed method can be effective for 3D distance measurement.

바타챠랴 거리 측정법을 이용한 음소 유사율 오류 보정 개선 시스템 (Phoneme Similarity Error Correction System using Bhattacharyya Distance Measurement Method)

  • 어휘 인식 시스템은 부정확한 어휘 제공과 유사한 음소 인식으로 인식률이 저하되며 이는 유사한 음소인식 오인식과 효율적 특징 추출 처리를 위한 방법을 필요로 한다. 따라서 본 논문에서는 음소가 갖는 특징을 기반으로 바타챠랴 거리 측정법을 이용한 음소 유사율 오류 보정 개선 시스템을 제안하였다. 음소 유사율은 모노폰으로 훈련시킨 훈련 데이터의 음소에 HMM 특징 추출 방법을 이용하였으며 유사한 음소는 바타챠랴 거리 측정법을 이용하여 정확한 음소로 인식할 수 있도록 유도하여 인식률 향상 효과를 얻을 수 있었다. 이를 유클리디안 거리 측정법과 동적타임 워핑 시스템에 비교한 시스템 성능 평가 결과 1.2%의 향상된 97.91% 인식률을 보였다.

연초의 엽위 분포형태에 따른 지상 원격센서의 유효 탐사거리와 측정 효율성 평가 (Evaluation of Effective Sensing Distance and Measurement Efficiency for Ground-Based Remote Sensors with Different Leaf Distribution in Tobacco Plant)

  • 사경재배에서 이식후 70일 동안 생육된 연초 식물체를 이용하여 지상원격측정 센서들의 유효 측정거리와 측정 효율성을 평가하였다. 센서의 측정거리와 목표물의 캐노피 형태는 연초 엽의 제거방법을 상위엽부터 하위엽으로 차례로 제거하는 top-down 방법과 하위엽부터 상위엽으로 차례로 제거하는 bottom-up 방법으로 구분하여 조절하였다. 시험에 적용된 센서들은 수동형센서로서 $Crop\;Circle^{TM}$과 Spectroradiometer 그리고 능동형 센서는 $Crop\;Circle^{TM}(ACS210)$ red와 amber 및 $GreenSeeker^{TM}$ red와 green 등 4개 종류를 비교하였다. 검토된 모든 센서들의 반사율지표는 수동형과 능동형 센서의 종류에 관계없이 연초식물의 하위엽보다 상위엽의 캐노피 형태에 따라 크게 영향을 받았다. 비교 검토된 측정거리보다 큰 213 cm의 유효거리를 갖 는 $Crop\;Circle^{TM}(ACS210)$에 의한 반사율지표들은 센서의 유효거리가 제한되지 않은 수동형 센서의 경우와 동일하게 측정거리에 따른 차이를 보이지 않았다. 그러나유효거리 80-120cm로 제시된 $GreenSeeker^{TM}$능동형 센서는 유효측정거리의 한계로 규정된 120 cm보다 멀어질 경우 반사율지표는 크게 감소되고 측정오차를 보여 센서별로 규정된 유효 측정거리는 반드시 지켜야 하는 것으로 확인되었다. 연초 엽의 top-down 제거방법에 따른 건물중과 반사율지표의 상대비율로 상호관계를 평가한 결과 건물중 변화를 검출하는 능력은 수동형 센서보다 능동형 센서가 양호한 경향이었으며 센서 종류별로는 $Crop\;Circle^{TM}(ACS210)$ red >$Crop\;Circle^{TM}(ACS210)$ amber = $GreenSeeker^{TM}$ red > $Crop\;Circle^{TM}$ passive > $GreenSeeker^{TM}$ green > spectroradiometer의 순으로 측정효율이 감소되었다.

  • 최근에 소형무인기(small UAV)에 대한 관심이 증대되고 있는데, 이는 소형무인기가 비용대비 효율적이고 사람의 접근이 어려운 재난 환경 등에 적합하기 때문이다. 이러한 소형무인기에서 거리측정을 통한 매핑(mapping)은 필수적인 기술이다. 기존의 무인시스템 연구에서 거리 측정 센서는 주로 레이저 센서와 스테레오 비전 센서를 많이 사용하였다. 레이저 센서는 정확도와 신뢰성이 우수하지만 대부분 고가의 장비이고 스테레오 비전 센서는 구현이 용이하지만 무게 측면에서 소형무인기에 탑재하여 사용하기에는 적합하지 않다. 본 논문에서는 레이저 포인터와 단일 카메라를 사용하여 저가의 거리측정기를 구성하는 방안을 소개한다. 제안한 시스템을 이용하여 거리를 측정하고 이로부터 맵을 구성하는 실험을 수행하였고 실제 데이터와 비교 분석하여 시스템의 신뢰성을 검증하였다.

  • This parer was presented for the experimental results of torsional vibrations of the horizontal rotating shaft with three disks. The torsional vibrations meter used is a laser system for non-contact measurement of torsional angular vibration velocity and torsional angular vibration displacement. The distance between the disks war changed; the one that had 76mm of disk distance war called basic model, and another that had 106mm of disk distance wide model, and other that had 46mm of disk distance narrow model. In each model, outer diameter of disk was 40mm. And 45mm, or 50mm was also used to extend the effective range of frequencies. The angula vibration displacement and the angular vibration velocity in its torsional vibration were measured to obtain the stable and the unstable regions.

광파측거의의 기계정수에 관한 연구 (A Study on Mechanism Stated Number of Electro-Optical Distance Measuring Instrument)

  • This paper is compared with fourier series and least square polynomial fit and interpolation to mechanism stated number in electro-optical distance measuring instrument. Systematic instrumental errors occurring in electro-optical systems include uncertainties in the position of the electrical center of the transmitter, uncertainties in the effective center of the reflectors. frequency drift and instrument nonlinearity. Microwave systems are affected by uncertainties in the electrical centers of the master and remote units and by a phenomenon called group swing or reflection. As the result of this study, mechanism stated number will be used as verification of electro0optical measuring instrument to distance measurement.

MRI Image Retrieval Using Wavelet with Mahalanobis Distance Measurement

  • In content based image retrieval (CBIR) system, the images are represented based upon its feature such as color, texture, shape, and spatial relationship etc. In this paper, we propose a MRI Image Retrieval using wavelet transform with mahalanobis distance measurement. Wavelet transformation can also be easily extended to 2-D (image) or 3-D (volume) data by successively applying 1-D transformation on different dimensions. The proposed algorithm has tested using wavelet transform and performance analysis have done with HH and $H^*$ elimination methods. The retrieval image is the relevance between a query image and any database image, the relevance similarity is ranked according to the closest similar measures computed by the mahalanobis distance measurement. An adaptive similarity synthesis approach based on a linear combination of individual feature level similarities are analyzed and presented in this paper. The feature weights are calculated by considering both the precision and recall rate of the top retrieved relevant images as predicted by our enhanced technique. Hence, to produce effective results the weights are dynamically updated for robust searching process. The experimental results show that the proposed algorithm is easily identifies target object and reduces the influence of background in the image and thus improves the performance of MRI image retrieval.

  • The objective of this research is to develop an effective inspection planning strategy for sculpture surfaces in OMM(On-Machine Measurement) process. As a first step, effective measuring point locations are determined to obtain optimum results for given sampling numbers. Two measuring point selection methods are suggested in this study based on newly proposed CAD/CAM/CAI integration concept: (1) by the prediction of cutting errors, (2) by considering cutter contact points to avoid the measurement errors caused by cusps. As a next step, the TSP(Traveling Salesman Problem)algorithm is applied to minimize the probe moving distance. Appropriate simulations and experiments are performed to verify the proposed inspection planning strategy in this study, and the results are analyzed.

  • Based on recent studies, the side resistance of rock socketed drilled shafts was affected by unconfined compressive strength of rock, socket roughness, rock types and joints, and initial normal stress. Especially, the socket roughness was affected by rock types and joints, drilling methods, and diameters of pile. In this study, a new roughness measurement system (BKS-LRPS, Backyoung-KyungSung Laser Roughness Profiling System) usable in water was developed. Based on the laboratory model tests, an EMD (Effective Measurement Distances) according to various turbidity was proposed as EMD=$1149.2{\times}T^{-0.64}_b$.
