The Effect of Management Consulting Service Characteristics on Business Performance through Absorption Capacity and Innovation Willingness of SMEs (경영컨설팅서비스특성이 중소기업의 흡수역량과 혁신의지를 통하여 경영성과에 미치는 영향분석)

  • This study examinined the casual relationship between consulting service characteristics and management performance based on absorption capacity and innovative willingness in order to find out the factors of effective consulting In an age of infinite competition. 131 questionnaires were used to test 8 hypotheses using SPSS 22.0 and SmartPLS(3.3.2). Results are as follows: expertise and consultant knowledge among consulting service characteristics had a significant positive impact on management performance through the company's absorption capacity and innovative willingness. However, the consultant's attitude had no significant effect. This study suggests the necessary of factors that can enhance the consulting effectiveness. We would like to consider and analyze the psychological variables that can enhance the various attributes and management performance of consulting in future research.

An Empirical Analysis of the Characteristics of Acquiring Manufacturing Firms in Korea : The Focus on Environmental Factors and Firm Performance (합병한 국내 제조기업들의 특징에 관한 실증적 연구 : 환경적 요인과 기업성과를 중심으로)

  • The M&A of firms has been emerged as the effective means of fast diversification and growth in dynamic environment. However, the empirical research about M&A in Korea has not been implemented rich due to the difficulty of obtaining M&A data. In this research, we empirically investigate the relationships among M&A, environment and firms' performance focused on Korean manufacturing firms, understanding the current practice of M&A in Korea. We use the Manufacturing Productivity Panel Survey Data, which are collected by Korea Productivity Center in 2013. The sample size is 575 and the sample is divided into M&A group and non-M&A group. We conduct logit analysis with the independent variables of environment factors (munificence, dynamic, uncertainty), and firms' performance (sales growth, ROS, labor productivity and Inventory turnover), and dependent variable of M&A group or non M&A group. The results show that M&A is closely related to environment feature and firm performance: M&A firms are likely to be the higher munificence and dynamic and the lower sales growth and higher profitability than non-M&A group. In addition, we also examine the characteristics of firms by M&A types (competitors, customer/supplier and firms from unrelated industry). These results imply that if firms confront the pressure of uncertainty (dynamic) and the lower growth, they tend to choose M&A. Futhermore, to profoundly understand the behavior of firms about M&A, it is required to classify the M&A firms by merge types.

  • This paper examined the effect of long-term ad campaign for building of brand identity and the relationship between brand identity as a viewpoint of a company and brand image in a viewpoint of consumers. As a result, it was revealed that advertising played an important role to make brand identity. In specific, a long-term ad campaign with a consistent concept and message was more effective for consumers to imbue clear and differential brand traits. In addition, it is discovered that the consistency and durability of advertising message for the advertised brand are contributed to consumers' positive attitude toward the brand. This result was revealed from the comparison of print advertisements for two brands-'Chamisul fresh' and 'Chumchurum', which are alcoholic brands on an intense competition in the same soju market in Korea. While Chumchurum has been consistently focused on one core trait for the brand, Chamisul fresh has been concentrated on multiple brand traits in the advertising campaign for four years since the brand had been launched.

In Case of Treatment of PEC4 Hydroseeding Measures for Revegetation of Rock Cut-Slopes (암비탈면 녹화용 환경친화적 PEC4 공법의 시공)

  • This study was conducted to find out the effects of hydroseeding material and seed mixture on the revegetation of rock cut-slopes by PEC4 (Polymer-Ecology-Control) Hydroseeding Measures. PEC4 hydroseeding material was applied to four cut-slopes using hydroseeding measures from April to August, 1999, and the field survey was carried out by monthly. PEC4 material consisted of bark compost and organic soil amendments. This material has high content of organic matter and high level of water holding capacity. PEC4 hydroseeding material shows low level of soil hardness, so it gives to good condition for seed germinating and plant growing in early stage. PEC4 material attached at rock cut-slopes by two types of adhesive agent was not eroded by rainfall. The plant coverage and number of plant species were affected by mixing ratio of seeds and seeding timing. From the viewpoint of plant establishment, the optimal hydroseeding timing of mixed seeds for plant growth seems to be in May. Most of the plant seeds were germinated well and they covered rock cut-slopes so quickly and effectively. Plant importance value of Silene armeria and Platycodon grandiflorum. were higher than any other seeded-native species in the competition between native species and exotic species, so they have enough possibility to be used for slope revegetation works. Thus it leads to conclusion that the revegetation method used in this experiment was a very effective method for plant establishment on rock cut-slopes.

  • Outsourcing is used as one of the effective methods while many companies have to start to innovate everything because of increased fierce global competition, low-growth economy, and varied customers' requirements. Under these conditions, a lot of firms are introducing outsourcing for cost savings, risk reduction, management efficiency, strengthen core competence. The purpose of this study is to analyze the effect of between outsourcing success by outsourcing strategy and factors for selecting outsourcing partners and BSC success in the Korea manufacturing. This study was intended to make it possible to get a practical approach on evaluation and compensation of the outsourcing manufacturing enterprises by identifying outsourcing success factors and BSC performance factors. When an outsourcing partner of enterprise is selected, detailed assessment will be possible in terms of partner's competence, financial factors, institutional factors, and operational factors.

The Effect of Smartphone Purchasing Determinants on Repurchase Intention (스마트폰 구매결정 요인이 재구매 의도에 미치는 영향)

  • The competition to acquire customers with repurchase intention is getting more and more intense in the saturated smartphone market. That is why the aim of this study is to investigate the difference in purchasing determinants between various age groups and gender. Furthermore we aimed to analyze which of the purchasing determinants influence repurchase intention. In order to gather information we conducted a survey on 252 respondents. We selected 5 purchasing determinants (A/S, H/W, switching cost, network effect and design) by conducting factor analysis and validity analysis. Then we analyzed how respondents of different age groups and gender perceived different purchasing determinants and analyzed the influence purchasing determinants have on repurchase intention. As for analyzing the difference of purchasing determinants throughout various age groups, the H/W, A/S, network effect showed a notable difference. The older respondents tended to consider H/W, A/S, network effect more importantly than younger respondents. When it came to comparing the results depending on the gender, male respondents tended to consider H/W factor more importantly compared to female respondents and the opposite was true for other factors such as A/S, switching cost, design, and network effect but there weren't any significant differences. Finally, out of various determinant factors, network effect and design turned out to have a considerable influence on repurchase intention. That is why it would be highly appropriate to say that if a company intends to boost repurchase intention, enhancing network effect and developing an effective design would be crucial. This study differs from other existing researches in that we analyzed respondents from different age groups and gender separately. Also unlike other researches we directly analyzed the influence purchasing determinants have on repurchase intention not customer satisfaction. This study is expected to serve as basic information that can be used to establish strategies both in an academic and practical level, allowing companies to boost the repurchase intention of the smartphone market.

  • Business environment, competition among firms in recent years, diverse and fragmented by the symbol of the consumer has become very complex and intense. Nevertheless, for the best performance of firms differentiated their company strives to have unique core competencies. In this study, reviewing the internal customer support activities and existing research on market orientation and then how it affects the future strategy for the internal customer support activities. Through the results of this study, first, to appear understanding of the effect of education and training to customers in enterprise-wide, strategic plan through competitor analysis, improved communication between departments, etc need to design to be effective in performance of company in a long term when in planning and training for employees such as job training, service training and training for improving service mind. Second, employment stability and internal communications to the employee's customer orientation showed no significant affect. This is considered for employees due to lack of fear or anxiety, so the employer could focus on his role in the current organization willing to participate actively for goals of the organization. Finally external customer orientation in the employee's customer orientation did not affect the analysis results which is appeared to in companies are constantly communicating with employees through the company's position and the difference between the employee's position is necessary to look for ways to narrow down.

A Study on the Strategies for Stimulating Medical Tourism in Oriental Medicine Blue Ocean of the 21st Century (21세기 블루오션, 한의학의료관광활성화를 위한 탐색적 연구)

Objective : This study aims to evaluate the medical tourism structures in countries with prosperous medical tourism industry such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and India in order ro propose optimal strategies that can promote the medical tourism in Korea. 2. Methods : All pertinent literature concerning medical tourism directly and indirectly were assessed, and reviews of medical tourism strategies found in various countries were evaluated. 3. Results : Evaluation of related literature reveals that medical tourism is a recent burgeoning industry that has grown In market size considerably in the last five to ten years. Also, it shows that oriental medicine is a highly likely candidate amidst the various medical fields for attraction foreign patients. 4. Conclusion : The Korean government should support and install appropriate legal and administrative bodies in order to attract medical tourists; Korea-specific medical tourism programs (ie. traditional Korean medicine package tours) should be developed in order to attract medical tourists from the western world and the middle-east. In addition, low-price policy of medical tourism is not a proper strategies for the competition against advanced medical tourism destinations such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore and India. Differentiated medical tourism package such as oriental medical tourism program rather than provision of low-price policy seems to be more effective strategy for the medical tourism in Korea. Future studies on strategies for promoting medical tourism should focus on how foreigners recognize traditional Korean medicine, what diagnostic approach might be appealing to them and how the legal system concerning the medical procedures may be altered and modified.

  • This paper is to provide for an analysis on the trade adjustment assistance program and the Case study affected by international trade and FTA. The paper offers a legal study on analysis about Korea's Trade Adjustment Assistance Law for the Manufacturing Industries, USA's TAA. and Japan's law for Industry revival. In general, USA's TAA measures are defined as assistance actions for business enterprises, farmers and manufacturing industries workers. We exclude farmers and fishermen under Korea's Trade Adjustment Assistance Law for the Manufacturing Industries's business enterprises and workers, but we give them the systemic supports under korea's special assistance law for the farmers and fishermen and so on after FTA. Especially this focuses on the trade adjustment assistance case about both Korea's agriculture-farmer assistance from FTA and USA's TAA from workers in layoffs of trade-impacted communities. Korea has provided TAA to the sphere of agriculture after special legislation in Korea-Chile helping closed orchard, modernizing high quality producing facility for agriculture competition, producing superior fruit saplings, and constructing the distribution center in the producing district. But for US-Korea FTA and rapid increase of import by FTA expansion, we must prepare such indemnity systems for loss as cash benefit and wider aids for closed farm. The USA's TAA program targets manufacturing workers affected by international trade, who may have fewer transferable skills and face greater challenges to reemployment than other dislocated workers. A large majority sought some assistance from their one-stop center. Relatively small numbers chose to enroll in training, but those who did it often used this opportunity to chart a new career path. Finally, we learned the importance of education and discipline from USA cases. The fast and accurate information providing can raise efficiencies. The infrastructure can maximize the effect of TAA. The effective application would help us get over difficulties of TAA at hand.

Customer Complaint Intention in the Service Distribution Industry : Types and Determinants (서비스 유통 산업에서 고객 불평의도 유형과 결정요인)

  • Purpose - With growing competition in the service distribution industry, the importance of managing customer complaints has increased. If firms handle customer complaints effectively, they can strengthen customer loyalty and repurchase intention. Many studies have focused on customers expressing complaints, yet research on silent customers is scant. This study focuses on two types of complainers and non-complainers. In other words, this study is to examine the value of voice complaint intention and no-action intention. This study also investigates how perceptual and relational factors affect complaint intention. Research design, data, and methodology - This study was carried out using the survey with undergraduate students who have faced a service failure in a retail store(fast foods, electronics, apparel). And if such complaint were to occur again, respondents were asked about any possible action they would take. 300 questionnaires were distributed and a total of 279 respondents provided complete and usable data. The sample consisted of 158 males(56.6%) and 121 females(43.4%). The structural equation modeling analysis was used for the hypothesis test. Results - The results are as follows. First, attitude toward complaining, likelihood of successful complaint, and ease of complaint were positively related to voice complaint intention. Second, attitude toward complaining, likelihood of successful complaint, and ease of complaint were negatively related to no-action intention. Third, commitment was positively related to voice complaint intention but didn't have a significant negative impact on no action. Forth, voice complaint behavior reduced switching intention and no-action intention enhanced switching intention. Conclusions - The findings of this study confirm the value of complaint behavior and show voice complaint intention and no-action intention should be managed differently. Voice complaint intention is evaluated positively because it reflects customers' concerns about the company, while no-action intention is evaluated negatively. Attitude toward complaing is the most effective in increasing voice complaint intention and likelihood of successful complaint is a major factor in reducing no-action intention. Also, in explaining switching intention, voice complaint intention plays a more important role than no-action intention.
