This study was conducted to examine the korean word length effects on auditory word recognition. Linguistically, word length can be defined by several sublexical units such as letters, phonemes, syllables, and so on. In order to investigate which units are used in auditory word recognition, lexical decision task was used. Experiment 1 and 2 showed that syllable length affected response time, and syllable length interacted with word frequency. As a result, in recognizing auditory word syllable length was important variable.

The study was conducted to get genetic information on quantitative characters of $F_1$ in barley through diallel crosses using seven malting barley. The results obtained were summarized as follows. Additive, dominant, maternal, and reciprocal effort were observed in culm length, spike length, awn length, culm diameter, grain length, grain width, ]lumber of grains per spike, and 1000 grain weight. Based on the Vr-Wr graphical analysis, culm length, spike length, awn length, grain length, and number of grains per spike were found to be inherited over dominance. Dominant effects were higher than additive effects in culm length, spike length, awn length, culm diameter, grain length, grain width, number of grains per spike, and 1000 grain weight. The narrow- sense heritability showed high value as 40.06% for spike length.

Prototype DSLPM (Double Side Linear Pulse Motor) has a complicated magnetic circuit to be composed of permanent magnetics and winding. During the fabricating of DSLPM, we found that upper airgap length may be a little different from lower airgap length because of fabrication tolerance and error. So, a little difference of both airgap length have a various effect on the characteristics of DSLPM. Therefore, in this paper, we analyzed the normal force and maximum static thrust force according to the difference of both airgap length on DSLPM with finite element method. Obtained results can be used for design of DSLPM with higher performance.

The effect of borehole thermal resistance on the borehole length is studied. In performing this work a new concept BLRR(borehole length reduction rate) is developed based on the line source model. The solution of line source model is shown to be valid through the comparison with the data of thermal response test. It is shown that BLRR is a function of soil thermal conductivity(k) and borehole thermal resistance($R_b$). The value of BLRR increases with increasing k, which means reducing $R_b$ is more effective when k is high. The reduction of borehole length with change of $R_b$ is easily estimated with BLRR. The validity of BLRR is also examined with EED analysis.

The present study investigated the effect of diameter and length on the absorption performance of a vertical falling film type absorber using $LiBr-H_2$O solution of 60 wt%. The parameters were diameter of absorber (17.2, 23.4, 31.1 mm), length of absorber (771, 1150, 1528 mm), and film Reynolds numbers (50, 70, 90, 110, 130, 150). As the diameter of the absorber was increased, the absorption mass flux, Sherwood number, heat flux, and heat transfer coefficient were increased, in which Sherwood number and heat transfer coefficient were increased up to 13% and 30% respectively. As the length of the absorber was increased, the total absorption rate and heat transfer coefficient were increased by 37% and 35% respectively, while the absorption mass flux was decreased.

One of the main problems faced in developing India's first HTS power cable was that of shrinkage in length of the double-walled vacuum-insulated cryostat. The shrinkage was due to the evacuation of the annular vacuum space which results in a shorter working cable length. This work reports experimentally observed contraction during evacuation and analyses corrugated pipes/bellows which house the cable core of HTS cables. The effect of corrugation geometry including length, corrugation pitch and depth, diameters of corrugated pipes and thicknesses of pipes is studied numerically to realize the degree of shrinkage due to vacuum as well as chill down. Finally, necessary length compensation and associated cost is determined to tackle the shrinkage issue.

In this study, the observational arc-length effect on orbit determination (OD) for the Korea Pathfinder Lunar Orbiter (KPLO) in the Earth-Moon Transfer phase was investigated. For the OD, we employed a sequential estimation using the extended Kalman filter and a fixed-point smoother. The mission periods, comprised between the perigee maneuvers (PM) and the lunar orbit insertion (LOI) maneuver in a 3.5 phasing loop of the KPLO, was the primary target. The total period was divided into three phases: launch-PM1, PM1-PM3, and PM3-LOI. The Doppler and range data obtained from three tracking stations [included in the deep space network (DSN) and Korea Deep Space Antenna (KDSA)] were utilized for the OD. Six arc-length cases (24 hrs, 48 hrs, 60 hrs, 3 days, 4 days, and 5 days) were considered for the arc-length effect investigation. In order to evaluate the OD accuracy, we analyzed the position uncertainties, the precision of orbit overlaps, and the position differences between true and estimated trajectories. The maximum performance of 3-day OD approach was observed in the case of stable flight dynamics operations and robust navigation capability. This study provides a guideline for the flight dynamics operations of the KPLO in the trans-lunar phase.

The present experiment investigated the effect of word length on the length of f0 intervals for North Kyungsang children. In order to find out the lengths of the f0 intervals, the f0 values at the midpoints of vowels in words were measured. F0 estimates were computed as intervals consistent with the logarithmic scale corresponding to the number of syllables in the words. The results indicated that the mean f0 intervals in words of different lengths showed a significant difference for the HH in HH vs. HHL and the LH in LH vs. LLH for North Kyungsang children. Adult speakers from the North Kyungsang region significantly differed only within the HH in HH vs. HHL. Adult speakers made a noticeable contribution in this characteristic from the children. The result of the adult study was presented to confirm whether the children used a North Kyungsang dialect. With respect to individual speaker differences, the North Kyungsang children showed more or less consistent patterns in quantile-quantile plots for the HH vs. HHL, but for the HL vs. LHL and LH vs. LLH, there were more variations than for the HH vs. HHL. The individual speakers' variation was the largest for the HL vs. LHL and the smallest for HH vs. HHL. Considering these results, the effect of word length on f0 intervals tended to show pitch accent-type-specific characteristics in the process of prosodic acquisition.

The electrical characteristic of the conventional self-aligned polycrystalline silicon (poly-Si) TFTs are known to present several undesired effects such as large leakage current, kink effect and hot-carrier effects. In this paper, LTPS TFTs with different GOLDD length were fabricated and investigated the effect of the GOLDD. GOLDD length of 1, 1.5 and $2{\mu}m$ were used, while the thickness of the gate dielectrics($SiN_x/SiO_2$) was fixed at 65nm(40nm/25nm). The electrical characteristics show that the kink effect is reduced at the LTPS TFTs, and degradation from the hot-carrier effect was also decreased by increasing GOLDD length.

The purposes of this article is to analyse how market competition of credit card company affect price(interest rate) and survival length of card users. This paper uses individual account data from a large Korean credit card company during the periods from 2002 to 2006. The findings of our study are as follows. First, market competition of credit card company have a negative effect with interest rate of credit card. Second, market competition of credit card company have a affirmative effect with survival length. Finally, The effect of Increasing delinquency rate due to price increase is smaller than decreasing delinquency rate due to extending survival length.
