Background Phenomenography suggests that more variation is associated with wider ways of experiencing phenomena. In the discipline of mathematics, broadening the 'lived space' of mathematics learning might enhance students' ability to solve mathematics problems Aims The aim of the present study is to: 1. enhance secondary school students' capabilities for dealing with mathematical problems; and 2. examine if students' conception of mathematics can thereby be broadened. Sample 410 Secondary 1 students from ten schools participated in the study and the reference group consisted of 275 Secondary 1 students. Methods The students were provided with non-routine problems in their normal mathematics classes for one academic year. Their attitudes toward mathematics, their conceptions of mathematics, and their problem-solving performance were measured both at the beginning and at the end of the year. Results and conclusions Hierarchical regression analyses revealed that the problem-solving performance of students receiving non-routine problems improved more than that of other students, but the effect depended on the level of use of the non-routine problems and the academic standards of the students. Thus, use of non-routine mathematical problems that appropriately fits students' ability levels can induce changes in their lived space of mathematics learning and broaden their conceptions of mathematics and of mathematics learning.
This study was conducted in order to identify the extent to which Health Belief Model (HBM) constructs explain the likelihood of taking preventive behaviors for AIDS among the young adolescents in Korea. HBM was applied as the theoretical framework for developing questionnaire items in this study. The survey instrument included all of the constructs of Health Belief Model, namely, perceived susceptibility, perceived severity, perceived benefit, perceived barriers, cue to actions for preventive behaviors concerning AIDS. Additionally, demographic characteristics of the respondents, their sexual experiences, and AIDS Knowledge Test were included in the study. Each of HBM constructs were developed with a 5-point Likert type scale from l(never agree) to 5 (absolutely agree). The survey was conducted with a total of 247 military men in a city on September 18, 1996, using self-reported questionnaire. The results of the study were summarized as follows: 1. Because the subjects for this study were military soldiers, their demographic characteristics were limited to all men, young age, and ummarried. Educational status was evenly distributed between high school graduates and university students. 2. On the average, the respondents started their first sexual relationship at 18 years old and 82.6% of them did not use condom when having their first sexual experience. Thirty-one percent of the subjects had sexual contact with prostitutes and the average number of sexual contact with prostitutes was 5 times during the past 2 years. 3. The results of AIDS Knowledge Test scores demonstrated that the respondents had a high level of knowledge about AIDS. However, some misconceptions about transmission of AIDS through casual contact were still prevailed. Sixty-six percent of the respondents expressed that people infected with HIV should be isolated from the society in order to protect the general public. 4. All the respondents expressed that they had heard about AIDS before. TV was found to be the source which provided information on AIDS most frequently. 5. Among fundamental constructs of Health Belief Model, scores of perceived benefit of taking preventive action against AIDS marked the highest score, while scores of perceived susceptibility were the lowest. As a result of Multiple Stepwise Regression analysis, 13 variable groups were found to predict the preventive action by 25%. Among them, only perceived benefit variables was the most significant factor to explain preventive behaviors by 17%.
The study aims to reveal the factors that impact the decisions made by child care directors in the process of managing their day care centers. The seven participants I surveyed are directors in child care centers located in Seoul and Kyung Ki-Do. Through in-depth interviews and case-by-case studies, I uncovered that there are both external and internal factors that influence a director decisions. The external factors are following the standards set by the law, accommodating the demands set by parents, collaboration with the teachers, accepting the advice of friends and family, and creating realistic conditions. The internal factors are each director's own management philosophy, religious beliefs, and personal experience. This study aims to create policies for establishing and developing educational material so that child care directors will be able to provide an ideal environment for the supervision and education of children.
In spite of economy has a critical cycle such as, production, distribution and consumption, we hardly concentrated our study to distributional system and behavior. Especially in Korea, Traditional idea had tried to ignore the people who work in this economic value at all. Manufacturers, other than retailers and wholesalers, had a belief that the manufacturing can control distributional channels forever. Unfortunately, technological and educational advances caused the quality equalization among developing and developed countries as well as among big and small manufacturers in their products. By this reason, economists are searching the economists dark continet' mentioned by Peter Drucker as a new source of wealth. According to a report by well-known economic research institute in Switzerland, Korea has classified in the lower level group in terms of international compatitive power. At the same time, business firms complain that they are suffering from lack of SOC and infrastructures. As an important mean to overcome the economic bottleneck, economists suggest in improve our distributional atmosphere. Basically, distributional study has two sub-fields as: commercial and physical distributions, Distributional system mainly concerns about to shorten the distances of time and space between production and consumption. The closer the distances, the higher efficiency can be achieved. Building distributional system will cost, but tile results will save social costs. Based on this idea, economists proposed several ways to cut the distances and to save costs, Naturally, they hope their beliefs can be adapted by business firms and governments. But frequently, their theories doesn't make any fruit. This paper has studied about the composition of joint transportational and distributional systems. And, even though there's no Marshall in tile real world at this point authors are trying to define the transportational and physical distributional costs, the most powerful factor that can impact to economic decision making.
In this preliminary study exploring the development of an convergent educational program, we identified the factors that affect adherence to healthcare-associated infection (HAI) control guidelines. The data were collected using a self-reported questionnaire of 183 nursing students. The collected data were analyzed using AMOS 21.0 and SPSS 21.0 program. The model fit was ${\chi}^2=52.06$ (df=9, p<.01), GFI=.93, RMSEA=.16, NFI=.85, and CFI=.90, and the explanatory power was 26.2%. As a result in this study, it was found that the theory of planned behavior(TPB) was appropriate for explaining the intention about healthcare-associated infection control guidelines. It is necessary to develop an education program that can reinforce the concepts of TPB, and iterate research to verify its effectiveness.
This study was to examine relationships among health belief of emerging infectious disease and self-efficacy for healthcare and identify the factors that influence on self-efficacy for healthcare in the general hospital nurses. The data were collected from 150 nurses working in the three general hospitals, located in S and Y city using self-administered questionnaires. Data was collected from January 11, 2021 to January 22. Among sub-factors of the health beliefs, perceived benefit (β=.17, p=.040), perceived sensitivity (β=.19, p=.020), and age (β=.21, p=.005), and these variables explained 14.0% of self-efficacy for healthcare(F=4.28, p<.001). Through this study, it is necessary to develop educational program self-efficacy for healthcare is needed for improving perceived benefit and perceived sensitivity among general hospital nurses.

The main aim of this study is to identify the role of information dissemination on urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh during the COVID-19 pandemic and the role of misinformation in this process. The study also aimed at finding appropriate counter misinformation strategies regarding COVID-19. An online questionnaire was prepared to collect the viewpoints of the urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh regarding dissemination of information during COVID-19, misinformation regarding COVID-19, and counter misinformation strategies. Along with demographic and general information, a five-point Likert scale was used to measure COVID-19 related misinformation beliefs and how to counter them. Chi square tests were used to determine the association between current residency, information sources, the importance of information dissemination, reactions after getting COVID related information, and evaluative steps after getting information and before disseminating it. Additionally, nonparametric Mann-Whitney U and Kruskal-Wallis tests were conducted to know the significance of difference in respondents' assessment on COVID-19 related misinformation in terms of their demographic characteristics. Cronbach's alpha score was obtained to see the reliability of the questionnaire items. The current study reveals that both urban and rural citizens of Bangladesh are influenced by information dissemination regarding COVID-19 and they have lower level of misinformation belief. The respondents have differences in misinformation belief by different demographic groups. Respondents' educational status, information literacy, sources of getting information, and evaluative steps after getting information have significant differences in misinformation belief. The study also noticed the support of respondents for countering misinformation strategies regarding COVID-19.
The purpose of this study is to examine the commonalities and differences that appear across the types of perceptions toward job changes according to the Industrial 4.0. among job seekers and workers. For an approach to subjective beliefs, viewpoints and preferences, the data investigated using Q methodology, was analyzed using the QUANL program for PC. From the Q-methodology, the types of perception toward job changes due to Industrial 4.0 and their features were drawn. The perception types were classified as four types: negative perception type, neutral perception type, high evaluation about quality of jobs, and employment increase perception type. The results found that views toward job transition due to Industrial 4.0 are were diverse beyond the dichotomy and institutional and educational efforts should be required to mitigate job insecurity and cope with job changes caused by technological advance.
The purpose of this study was to identify the influencing factors on the breast self-examination performance among nursing students. The data collection period was from April 12 to April 26, 2021. Data was gathered from 240 nursing students by using a structured questionnaire. The data was analyzed using Pearson's correlation coefficients and a stepwise regression analysis using the SPSS/WIN 25.0 program. As the result of this study, the factors influencing breast self-examination perfomance were found to be breast self-examination and dietary habits with the explanatory power of these variables being 14.2%(F=19.53, 𝜌<.001). Based on this study, further study may be needed to evaluate the dietary habits of nursing students so that they can practice proper eating behavior. In addition, to maximize the educational effect, there may need to be a development of programs aimed to prevent breast cancer among nursing students.
This study was designed to investigate the relationship between middle school students' smart media competency and online learning outcomes. The context of this study was on online inquiry-based mathematics and science learning environment, and four-hundred and fifty-five (455) 7th to 9th grade students in Korea participated in this research. To assess students' smart device competency, Smart Media Literacy Quotient (SMLQ) which consisted of 18 items regarding the operation ability of smart media and its application (14 items) and positive beliefs of smart media (4 items) was administered to each student. The findings of this study first showed that students' smart media literacy varied according to their characteristics such as gender, grade, class (subject), and socio-economic status. Female students' scores were higher in overall smart media literacy operation and learning ability of smart media than male students. 7th grade middle school students represented lower smart media literacy scores, compared to 8th and 9th graders. Also, minority students were significantly lower in smart media literacy, operation and learning ability of smart media, and positive belief of smart media than the non-minority students. Second, overall smart media literacy and operation and learning ability of smart media varied among high, medium, and low score achievers in inquiry tasks. Low scored students in inquiry tasks were significantly lower in overall smart media literacy and operation and learning ability of smart media than medium scored students. Lastly, smart media literacy also varied by students' dropout/completion. Students who dropped out reported significantly lower scores in overall smart media literacy, operation and learning ability of smart media, and positive belief of smart media.
