A Study on the Website Design applied to WDS(Web Identity Development System) (WIDS(Web Identity Development System)을 적용한 웹사이트디자인 개발에 관한 연구)

  • It has been a well known fact that the Internet as a information media has became a obvious ISDN(Integrated Services Digital Networks) through ultra speed information networks. Internet has mads a great change in educational fields. The educational systems are being changed into a learner central figure from the professor central one and cyber universities regardless of space and distance have appeared though the Internet. Accordingly in this paper, we present the web site of UC(Ulsan College) applied to WIDS(Web Identity Development System) to supply the enhancement of information services and the interface design of user's convenience in rapid changing educational environment. We suggest the more enhanced methodology of web site development in cyber space through the case of UC web site development.

Development of an Educational Web Site and e-Learning System for Elementary School Students to Reduce Sugar, Natrium and Fat Intakes (초등학생의 당, 나트륨, 지방 섭취 저감화를 위한 교육용 웹사이트 및 e-learning system 개발)

  • This study was carried out to reduce children's sugar, natrium and fat intakes and establish their healthy lifestyle. To achieve these goals, we developed an educational web site and an e-learning system. The targets of this web site are children, parents and educators. This site has various information about sugar, natrium and fat, and has special menus for each target: such as the 'Let's study' for children, 'Guides for child's eating' for parents, and 'Educational softwares, Lesson plans/materials, and Textbooks/Teaching guides' for educators. We developed three nutrient characters and applied them to the web site. We provided information in the form of texts, images, flash and sounds. This site has special boards in 'Nutrition cafe' menu to interchange information or their successful stories between the connecters. We developed an e-learning system with two courses. One is for junior elementary students and the other is for senior students. Children can study each nutrient step by step in a course according to their academic ability and concern. Also, they can evaluate their academic achievement in this system, which was uploaded into 'Let's study' in children menu in the web site. Conclusively this web site and e-learning system could contribute to reducing children's sugar, natrium and fat intakes by helping children study them systematically and effectively by on-line system. We expect this e-learning system would be a new nutrition education system to make nutrition education more active.

A Design of Customer Relationship Management Evaluation Model for Educational Site (교육용 사이트 CRM 평가 모델 설계)

  • CRM technology, which increase the benefit with the improvement of customer loyalty, has been one of the important strategies of industry. At the same time it is essential to evaluate the CRM characteristics to activate the CRM technology in the educational sites. So in this study, CRM technology concept and Web-site evaluation trend is mentioned ahead. By using Web-site CRM, that is one of the latest quantitative global evaluation method, CRM characteristics evaluation model is designed. So CRM service contents of currently operational academic sites are compared and analyzed. And through students'point of view CRM characteristics evaluation base and quantitative model is proposed to improve customer loyalty and customer satisfaction. Computed results of proposed CRM evaluation model for the educational site is included partially.

The Structure of a Web site and Navigability (웹 사이트의 구조와 항해가능성)

  • Navigability refers to how easy a user can find desired information in a web site and is influenced by the structure of a web site. In this paper, we created three types of Web sites, that is a Web site whose structure forms a small world, a Web site whose structure forms a semi-matroid, and a Web site based on an ontology and measured the navigability of each Web site based on two criteria (the number of hyperlinks clicked by users to find the desired information and the elapsed time for finding the desired information). The reason that we selected three structures is because hyperlinks can be created in a way that helps a user find desired information in each site. From the experiments, we found that the average number of hyperlinks which a user clicked to find out the desired information was as follows: a Web site that had semi-matroid property (100.37 hyperlinks) < a Web site that was created based on an ontology (117.63 hyperlinks) < a Web site that had small-world property (236.17 hyperlinks). In addition, we found that the average elapsed time during which a user found out the desired information was as follows: a Web site that was created based on an ontology (20 min 26 sec) < a Web site that had semi-matroid property (23 min 6 sec) < a Web site that had small-world property (30 min 47 sec). Therefore, we can consider a Web site that is created based on a semi-matroid or an ontology is relatively more navigable than a Web site that has small-world property. In this paper, we also propose a way by which our experimental results can be reflected in designing an educational Web site.

  • In this paper, we aim to draw up an alternative instruction scheme by designing a web based instruction model on mathematics. Some learning materials are developed according to the scheme, and its educational effects are examined when it is committed to through regular curriculum. The study is composed of three major parts; setting of the theoretical foundation on cultivating Web based educational materials, design and composition of Web based teaching-learning model, and its experiments in the regular class. First of all, we are concerned with the core principles on WBI including the learning theories, developing learner oriented instruction model, design as well as build-up process for education materials, and strategy in instruction. Next, we propose an alternative instruction model for mathematics, in which programs to embody mathematics education and instruction on the Web are constructed, on the while, the study is proceeded through the Web Site. Finally, we design and produce a WBI instruction model on the subject of the plane quadratic curves. This model is examined in the regular class to estimate its educational effects compared with traditional teaching standpoints. Concomitantly, we explore essential elements and the direction of future growth associated with the Web oriented education.

  • Recently, the number of People who want to study by online has been gradually increased. In addition, people's desire is increasing that represents their special knowledge and personality with new paradigm of UCC(User Created Contents). Most of the educational web-sites offer currently boring and unified educational contents without interesting objects. Therefore I want to solve these problems of existing online educational web-sites and I strongly propose the method of design to make the place educational and useful that everyone can enjoy and manifest the user's dispositions. On this study, it's possible to make pleasant environment and improve educational effects on cyber space by designing it in accordance with the individual tastes which have various design elements, beauties and facilities by the customized design method. As a result, this study proposes the model of online educational web-site having various interfaces and focusing on the customized design.

Color Image Analysis of Cosmetic Web-Site for Color Marketing

  • This study aims to derive the sensitive image analysing the color tones based on the web-sites of cosmetic brand and to know how the web-site color tones and the color tone image as visual factor for information transfer do influence the effective communication. 10 cosmetic brand web-sites are selected based on the pre survey, and the main page color tones of cosmetic brand web-site are analyzed by Color Catch and Munsell Conversion program, whereas the composition of color tones and color image such as the main trend colors, secondary colors, accent colors and etc are analyzed by a graphic professional program 'Adobe Photoshop'. 5 color tone groups are classified as Black&White, Green&White, Blue&White, Purple&White and Red&White according to the color distribution chart, and the emotional language is derived applying them to the pre research and IRI image scale. The color association is empirically analyzed by a survey method. The study results finally show Black&White is proper for expression of high quality and modern image, Green&White for pure and clean image, Blue&White for cool and transparent image, Purple&White for mysterious and elegant image respectively. This study results are necessary for plan of color delivering the strong transferring power of visual information the time when to make the effective web-sites, and it hopefully will be utilized as the basic data for the color marketing to actively express the brand identity and to satisfy the consumers' sensitivity.

Design and Implementation of Educational Newspaper Information Gathering Agent for NIE (NIE를 위한 교육 정보 수집 에이전트의 설계 및 구현)

  • This paper presents ENIG Agent can gather distributed educational newspaper information in the web as well as provide teachers and student those information for the NIE. ENIG Agent gleans newspaper headline of appropriate educational news portal site for real-time provision of those information. The optimized extraction of headline is performed through the pre-process of educational news site, information noise filtering, pattern matching. The educational newspaper headline information that is gotten through previous process will be shown to students by web-browser. To increase the usage of those information, intelligent education methods and visualized classification techniques are used. By experiment, the performance of this ENIG Agent was evaluated.

  • The purpose of this study is to implement evaluation on domestic cyber University web site to analyze web usability and web accessibility in order to present how much cyber University provides various personalized services and qualitative contents to users on web site. And also with this result, I hope to contribute in qualitative development of web site and reliability of remote education. For this purpose, I developed checklist suitable to remote University by applying SM-ABCDE assessment method of Moonhyeongnam, the professor in Sookmyung Women's University, and implemented evaluation on web sites of 17 cyber University over the five aspects of attraction, business, contents, design, and engineering. As the result of this study, it was found that Busan Digital University was best in the respect of attraction, both Kyunghee Cyber University and Cyber University of foreign studies were best in the respect of business, Kyunghee University was best in the respect of contents, and Hanyang Cyber University was best in the respect of design. It was also evaluated in the comprehensive view and the order was found that Kyunghee Cyber University, Busan Cyber University, and Hanyang Cyber University. However in the respect of engineering, it came out that all the sites did not observe the regulation on web accessibility. If domestic Cyber Universities are to observe the regulation on web accessibility with the long term view, on the base of this study, web usability would be increasing. Then they can secure various classes of customers as well as ordinary people so that they will be able to take the real place of educational institution orienting the most advanced educational method in the society of knowledge and information in addition to advance in themselves.

  • With the advent of computers and network, the Internet(World Wide Web) is becoming more prevalent than ever before. The ICT and the policy of the development of information technology are also applied to the elementary school environment. In the elementary school field, we can easily find that children have different web-site preferences based on gender. There is a lot of research about adult gender issues for the purpose of customer analysis to increase business profits. However, there is little research about the gender factor in web-based instruction or educational web sites. Elementary school children are beginning to experience the Internet. In this study, we consider the analysis of the use and perception of the Internet based on gender differences, and discuss concrete guidelines in regards to elementary school pupil and therefore create Web Based Instruction or Educational Web Contents.
