Multimedia Contents Design for Early Childhood Education to Traditional Education Theory (전통적 교육이론에 따른 유아교육용 멀티미디어 콘텐츠 설계 방안)

  • This study investigates design strategies for improving the educational quality of multimedia contents for early childhood education. It emphasizes both traditional education theory and developmental aspects in its exploration of interactive and educational qualitative multimedia contents for early children. Accordingly, for an effective early childhood education, it is necessary to experience of the playful learning for the conception of ideas and the understanding of the social life. Because this study 1) possibility of multimedia contents for early childhood education, 2) computer application method for early childhood education, 3) examines used in the designing of multimedia contents for early childhood education according to traditional education theory. Multimedia early childhood education system is possible to organize information such as test, image, sound and video based on hyperlink system. I use Microsoft's Ms-office and Asymetrix's ToolBook software that are useful for hyperlink and parameter. Multimedia contents and other pages are used by Dynamic Data Exchange(DDE). Therefore multimedia contents for early childhood education is a useful tool for students of early childhood education department, parents, and children.

  • In industrial education which would meet both ends to offer adult-learner (employee) the opportunity to develop himself and to accomplish business aims, it is very important to use instructional media and to prepare the proper educational facilities and equipments. Therefore, this paper would investigate the following aspects. First, the characteristics and optimal training method of industrial education as an adult-training. Secondly, the meaning of instructional media. Thirdly the contents of proper educational facilities and equipments to apply instructional media. Based on the above mentioned investigation, this paper suggests that instructional media and educational facilities and equipments in industrial education should be utilized integratedly and systematically as component factors of total educational program. And then, the basic directions and ways to establish the most desirable educational facilities and equipments are presented in this paper.

  • This study proposes a plan for the residents to have a capacity to build a family-friendly community on their own. As there is not a family-friendly community related program developed for "Resident's Capacity Reinforcement", three programs closely related with family-friendly community program were analyzed instead. Analysis showed that first, the community spirit must be emphasized to maintain the characteristics of family care with social support. Second, educational contents must reflect resident's capacity elements that are necessary for participating in the family friendly community building stages. Third, there is a necessity for systematization of education courses into beginner, intermediate, and specialty course given education is continued. Fourth, there is a necessity for the curriculum that may be used for the family friendly community building to foster human and material resource management ability. Therefore, framework for the educational contents suggests X-axis and Y-axis presented by person-business and morphogenic-morphostatic as referred to Ulrich(1997),s human resource model. However, this study has limitations because educational program of 'livable community building' are analyzed for the plan to reinforce capacity to build family-friendly community. There is a necessity for continuing to improve the program by in depth interview or social survey with residents and leader in community.

Contents Analysis of Vocabulary Learning Game Application on Smart-Phone and Tablet PC for Young Children's Language Learning (유아 언어학습용 단어게임 애플리케이션 분석)

  • The purpose of this study was firstly, to evaluate the contents of vocabulary game applications for young children's language learning. and secondly, to examine whether there is any differences between Korean and English word games in terms of the evaluation score. For this purpose, the word game applications in smart phone and tablet PC were analyzed, which included 30 Korean word games and another 30 English ones. The criteria to evaluate the contents were developed based on Children's Software Evaluation Instrument developed by CTR, the multimedia evaluation standard by Hee Sook Park, Young Joo Lee, and mobile contents evaluation standard by Soo Ui Choi. As a result, the educational value got the highest score whereas the design characteristics area got the lowest score in the whole evaluation analysis. And English word game applications mostly got higher score than Korean versions. The result of this study would suggest the way to evaluate educational game applications in use and to contribute to developing educational game contents aimed at young children's language learning.

  • This paper critically examines the current status of software education and its contents in the 2015 revised curriculum and explores the criteria for content selection. For this purpose the principles of selection of educational contents in general curriculum composition were reviewed. In addition this study explored the criteria for selecting contents of software education from an educational philosophy. In particular Oakeshott's practical knowledge was examined as a philosophical basis for the selection of software educational contents. It emphasized that the contents of software education should be composed of practical experiences rather than knowledge and activities. Based on these discussions five proposals were made as criteria for selecting contents for software education. First consistency with the purpose of the curriculum second reflection of the level of learners third creation and product of creative knowledge fourth reflection of future sociocultural demands and fifth, growth as a digital democratic citizen.

  • Recently, with the development of mobile devices and social media services, contents recommendation schemes have been studied. They are typically applied to the job curation systems. Most existing university education content recommendation schemes only recommend the most frequently taken subjects based on the student's school and major. Therefore, they do not consider the type or field of employment that each student wants. In this paper, we propose a university educational contents recommendation scheme for job curation services. The proposed scheme extracts companies that a user is interested in by analyzing his/her activities in the job curation system. The proposed scheme selects graduates or mentors based on the reliability and similarity of graduates who have been employed at the companies of interest. The proposed scheme recommends customized subjects, comparative subjects, and autonomous activity lists to users through collaborative filtering.

  • The educational courses for the procedural-oriented and object-oriented programming languages have been prepared respectively in many universities. However, the comparison of two languages has not been shown in the same class. In this paper, we compared two distinctive languages, C and Java, and developed a new class material and the relating web contents, through which those who are interested may maximize their understanding and programming skills based on the different programming language.

  • With the development of internet and networking technology, on-line remote educations in many area are being experimented. As on-line remote educations become more common, many people make multimedia contents for educational purpose. We designed and implemented a lecture authoring tool which provide easy way to build educational multimedia contents. We implemented the authoring tool with Java JMF, which can be executed any computer hardware. The purpose of this paper is to share the experience of implementing authoring tool and the implementation result of the authoring tool using Java JMF.

  • This study attempts to explore the educational applicability of webtoons. Webtoons have very useful educational elements in educational environments. First, they are extremely popular among learners of the internet age and not only do webtoon images provide immersiveness and enjoyment to learners in class environments based on text but the narrativity and contextuality of webtoons can also provide abundant material in connection with the subject. Also, the interactivity of the Web 2.0, a space where webtoons are circulated, can also be utilized in educational environments. This study attempts to explore grounds for detailed approaches for the educational applicability of webtoons using theoretical and practical methods. It is hoped that through this study, assessments can be made of positive prospects regarding the educational applicability of webtoons.
