Binarization of number plate Image with a shadow (그림자가 있는 차량 번호판의 이진화)

  • In this paper, we propose a method to solve a problem in binarizing the rear number plate image captured by a camera on a moving vehicle. An image may be shadowed by the cavernous structure of the rear side of a moving vehicle and it makes us hard to get a high quality of binary image. Therefore, we first detect a shadow edge and then divide an image into the shadow part and non-shadow part by the edge. Finally, the binary image is obtained by binarizing each part and merging them In this paper, we do comparative work on a group of binarization methods including our method, the method suggested by Zheng, the method using block binarization, and the method using labeling. The result shows that our method achieves better performance than others in most cases.

  • In this paper we continue to investigate the Super Vertex Mean behaviour of all graphs up to order 5 and all regular graphs up to order 7. Let G(V,E) be a graph with p vertices and q edges. Let f be an injection from E to the set {1,2,3,${\cdots}$,p+q} that induces for each vertex v the label defined by the rule $f^v(v)=Round\;\left({\frac{{\Sigma}_{e{\in}E_v}\;f(e)}{d(v)}}\right)$, where $E_v$ denotes the set of edges in G that are incident at the vertex v, such that the set of all edge labels and the induced vertex labels is {1,2,3,${\cdots}$,p+q}. Such an injective function f is called a super vertex mean labeling of a graph G and G is called a Super Vertex Mean Graph.

Development of Wireless License Plate Region Extraction Module Based on Raspberry Pi (라즈베리 파이를 이용한 무선 자동차번호판 영역 추출 모듈 개발)

  • A wireless license plate region extracting module is proposed for LPR system controlling multiple gates. This module is cheaply implemented using Raspberry Pi which is open source and high performance. First, as the upper 1/3 of the captured image is discarded as it has no useful information on license plate. Using the OpenCV libraries the edge image is got by Canny algorithm after applying Gaussian filtering to gray image, and the labeling is conducted for 4 consecutive numbers in license plate. These numbers are located using various decision equations, and expanding the numbers region the final license plate region can be extracted. The result image is transferred to Server using wifi direct. Using the proposed module it becomes easy to set up and maintain the LPR system. The experimental results showed that the successful extracting rate was 98.4% using 500 car images with 640 × 480 resolution.

  • 본 논문에서는 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상과 저해상도 다중분광 영상을 융합하기 위하여 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상에서 MRF 모델링을 기반으로 에지 방향 정보를 추출하는 방식파 추출된 에지 방향 정보 및 고해상도 팬크로매틱 영상의 기울기 정보를 이용하여 위성영상을 융합하는 방법을 제안한다. 에지 방향 추출은 레이블링(labeling) 문제로 다루어 처리하는데, 이는 MRF 모델링을 통하여 에너지 함수를 설계하고 최소화시킴으로써 풀 수 있다. 또한 고해상도 다중분광영상 합성 시, 저해상도 다중분광영상의 픽셀 값을 정계조건으로 하고 팬크로매틱의 기울기 및 에지 정보를 이용하여 선형방정식을 세워서 풀어내는데, 이를 용하여 색상왜곡을 줄일 수 있으며 영상의 세부 부분을 더 잘 표현할 수 있다 실험 결과, 제안하는 방법이 기존방식에 비하여 좋은 성능을 보임을 확인할 수 있다.

  • 본 논문에서는 환자와 검사자에게 초음파 영상의 객관화된 정보를 정확하게 제공하기 위해 간과 신장의 초음파 영상에 SOM 기법을 적용하여 지방간 농도 수치를 분류하는 방법을 제시한다. 제안된 방법은 간, 신장 영역을 촬영한 초음파 영상에서 촬영정보나 눈금자 등과 같이 필요 없는 부분을 잡음으로 간주하여 제거한 Region Of Interest(ROI) 영상을 추출하고, 추출된 ROI 영상에서 명암대비를 강조하기 위해 Fuzzy Stretching 기법을 적용한다. Stretching된 영상에 Enhanced Average Binary와 Labeling 기법으로 적용하여 얻은 Contour 정보를 분석하여 잡음을 제거한 후, 지방간의 측정 영역을 추출한다. 추출된 간과 신장의 측정 영역에 SOM 기법을 적용하여 명암도 값을 분류한 후, 간과 신장의 실질 영역의 대표 명암도를 각각 추출하여 비교 분석한다. 제안된 방법을 초음파 영상에 적용한 결과, 효율적이고 객관적으로 간의 지방도를 분류할 수 있는 가능성을 확인하였다.

  • A way of quantitatively describing the tissue architecture we have investigated when developing a computer program for malignancy grading of transitional cell bladder carcinoma. The minimum spanning trees, MST was created by connecting the center points of the nuclei in the tissue section image. These nuclei were found by thresholding the image at an automatically determined threshold followed by a connected component labeling and a watershed algorithm for separation of overlapping nuclei. Clusters were defined in the MST by thresholding the edge lengths. For these clusters geometric and densitometric features were measures. These features were compared by multivariate statistical methods to the subjective grading by the pathologists and the resulting correspondence was 85% on a material of 40 samples.

  • It is important to detect objects movement for obstacle recognition and path searching of UCT(unmanned container transporters) with vision sensor. This paper shows the method to draw out objects and to trace the trajectory of the moving object using a CCD camera and it describes the method to recognize the shape of objects by neural network. We can transform pixel points to objects position of the real space using the proposed viewport. This proposed technique is used by the single vision system based on floor map.

  • We propose a background subtraction method for moving cameras based on trajectory classification, image segmentation and label inference. In the trajectory classification process, PCA-based outlier detection strategy is used to remove the outliers in the foreground trajectories. Combining optical flow trajectory with watershed algorithm, we propose a trajectory-controlled watershed segmentation algorithm which effectively improves the edge-preserving performance and prevents the over-smooth problem. Finally, label inference based on Markov Random field is conducted for labeling the unlabeled pixels. Experimental results on the motionseg database demonstrate the promising performance of the proposed approach compared with other competing methods.

  • We propose a 3D modeling method for surface inspection of non-linear moving object. The laser lines reflect the surface curvature. We can acquire 3D surface information by analyzing projected laser lines on object. ill this paper, we use multi-line laser to make use of robust of single stripe method and high speed of single frame. Binarization and channel edge extraction method were used for robust laser line extraction. A new labeling method was used for laser line labeling. We acquired sink information between each 3D reconstructed frame by feature point matching, and registered each frame to one whole image. We verified the superiority of proposed method by applying it to container damage inspection system.
