This study investigated and analyzed the export competitiveness of Gyeonggi-Do and the effect of Korea-US FTA on its export competitiveness. By reviewing the current status of trade structure and implementing trade specialization index(TSI) of export commodities of Gyeonggi-Do, the investigation has listed the specific export commodities with competitiveness for increasing the volume of its export in the United States, in the short, mid and long run perspectives. From the findings in this study, it suggests specific trade and commercial policies to Korea-US FTA including implementing commodity-oriented export supporting system, strategic marketing method, economic-free-zone plan, R&D investment, export financing and regional economic cooperation.

Since the election of governors and mayors by vote, many local governments in Korea establish long-range plans for their regional development. The major purposes of the plans are to set up development path for their communities and to devise economic development strategies. But most of the plans established thus formulated by the same method utilized in centralized political regime. This method is considered no longer appropriate to devise the long-range development plans for local government especially in the era of globalization and localization, where local governments behave independently, where local governments behave independently competition. We suggest an alternative way to establish such plans, based on the method employed in business sector. The plans, formulated in this way, are called strategy oriented long-range development plans. The underlying logic for the plans is non-linear one. The plans are issue oriented and focus more on process than outcome. Given that these features are properly incorporated in the plans, we expect that the strategy oriented long-range development plans can be genuine guidelines for local economic development in the years to come.

It's prohibited to take sand from southeastern EEZ(Exclusive Economic Zone) from January 2017 in korea. So, the supply of sea sand has been decreased and costs of sea sand are rising as a result in the southeast region. This paper deal with appropriateness of the taking sea sand, circumstance and fisheries damages by extraction of EEZ sand and proposed control measures for ensuring quality of sea sand and consider fishermen support plan for ensuring a stable supply of sand in southeast region of korea.

We call as plant life cycle the process starting from plant plan, design to disuse by way of construction, operation, but the plant facility inside it comes to changes of cope with various inner factor like blazing phenomenon and outer factor according to economic state. On the presumption of these factors, the problem is brought about how plant should be managed, this study attempt to suggest the conservation management through economic evaluation in investment design and alternative, that is, methodology connecting that of economical efficiency evaluation based on LCC(Life Cycle Costing) thinking method and facility management with that of life prediction.

The purpose of this study is to understand the familial and economic problems(household-financial management) came out as a result of inheritance in household with a qualitative Ethnographic interview analysis method. As a result of interview, we found out three results; first, inheritance consciousness, attitude of predecessor(parents generation) second, the changes in familial economic relationship by inheritance stages (pre-inheritance stage, inheritance progressing stage, post-inheritance stage) third, the emotional changes of predecessor(paraents generation). The results indicated that there were significant importance and influence of household inheritance, therefore, the necessities of definite and systemic old-aged plan with financial management of inheritance should be introduced.

In recent years, electric industries in many countries confront with a structural change in business and socio-economic environments. Since 1984, PUC and utilities in U.S.A. have adopted or developing competitive bidding systems, and this new procurement programs prevailing and restructuring the power markets. In Korea, government and the Korea Electric Power Corporation (KEPCO) invited the private sector to build and operate two 500 MW coal plants and two 400 MW LNG plants during 2001 - 2004. The plan also specifies basic concepts and conditions for the IPP projects such that new IPPs are selected through competitive bidding system with the purchased power price based on the avoided cost. In this study, the direction, guideline and scoring methods to Korean IPP bidding system are presented. Also, as a benchmark price and rates for purchased power, the avoided cost calculation models are developed, this study may contribute for the development of private power in Korea, and improve overall economic efficiencies of whole electric power sector.

Currently, both Korea and Japan have cooperated to get a foothold in economic major countries in the Asia through the various economic cooperation and the overcoming of cultural difference in cultural interchanges between two countries. However, in the present age, two countries are on the other road in historical view and conception; the final report over 3 year studies by the two countries' history study partnership commission shows the above views; while Korea has been in base of Japan colonialization's unjustification, Japan has been in base of its facts. The aboves have proved that Japan has not taken an honest self examination and conscience over the history. Accordingly, Japan resistance volunteer memorial is proposed as the educational place to carry down the martyr's holy patriotism in later ages and practice its spirit by learning the resistance volunteer resistance volunteer movement, which focused on resisting the Japan invasion and fighting the independence.

The purpose of this study is to present the advanced plans to get the activation of the domestic furniture manufacture, considering the conditions of the furniture market and business environments before and after IMF Economic Crisis. These are necessary to get over some problems which result in reduction of demand, consumption, and investment under the recession. The furniture manufacture should take the occasion as a pertinent opportunity to strengthen the competitive edge and step up the exploration of the international markets. It is reasonable to conclude that the advanced plans should be designed, implemented, and expanded through the inducement of the government, manufacturers, and foreign investors.

This paper deals with two economic optimal designs of constant-stress accelerated life test(ALT) where failure distribution follows one of location-scale family, i. e., exponential, Weibull, and lognormal distributions which have been ones of the popular choices of failure distributions. Two optimization criteria to develop ALT plans are the statistical efficiency per unit expected cost which consists of the fixed test cost, cost being proportional to the number of test units, and variable test cost depending on test period and stress level, and the expected loss which combines Taguchi's quadratic loss function and expected test cost. Optimum plan determines the low stress level, test units allocated to each stress, and censoring times at two stress levels under Type I censoring. The proposed ALT plans are illustrated with a numerical example and sensitivity analyses are conducted to study effects of pre-estimates of design parameters.
