  • As an industry that serves as a greater catalyst for social and cultural exchange than any other industry, the tourism industry has a strong responsibility toward sustainable management in economic, social, and environmental respects. However, there is a low level of awareness for ESG(environmental, social, governance), and as of now, only companies whose parent company is a large corporation are interested in ESG. Moreover, tourism companies taking part in ESG only focus on the environmental field of ESG. Thus, the present study attempted to understand the current status of ESG research in the tourism field and, based on this understanding, offer a field of research urgently in need. Based on the research results, the study found that awareness studies on the type of ESG management that stakeholder groups take into consideration must take place in advance in order to understand and develop ESG for the tourism industry. Additionally, ESG evaluation variables that reflect the characteristics of the tourism industry must be developed. Lastly, strategies and techniques that objectively disclose ESG management activities are necessary based on a disclosure strategy presented by GRI(Global Reporting Initiative).

  • Purpose ESG(Environment Social Governance) activities of IT companies are very important for organizational development in that they can motivate employees to engage in job crafting by giving them a sense of purpose and meaning. There have been many studies on the positive impact of company ESG(Environment Social Governance) activities on financial performance, but unlike the existing financial performance approach, this study suggested that IT companies ESG activities can affect job crafting and job satisfaction of employee, using non-financial organizational variables. Design/methodology/approach This study, based on the related theoretical background, showed the relationship between ESG, job crafting, and job satisfaction, and it was proposed as a research model. A measurement model was constructed, and it was estimated and evaluated with LISREL 9.30, using data from IT companies employees, and it showed satisfactory data-fit of proposed model. The empirical results indicated that ESG(Environment Social Governance) take effect on job crafting, and job crafting take effect on job satisfaction. Findings This study provided several important implications in relation to the ESG(Environment Social Governance) that contribute to job crafting and job satisfaction for IT companies employees. It was confirmed that job crafting variable is a effective mediator linking ESG(Environment Social Governance) and job satisfaction.

  • ESG Investment is emerging as a trend and common sense in the financial market. ESG Investment is an investment method that simultaneously pursue social sustainability and investment returns from a long-term perspective by reflecting non-financial factors such as environment, society and governance in addition to corporate financial performance in investment decisions. This study checked how the characteristics of ESG investment have been changed after Covid-19. Afterwards, it was confirmed that Covid-19 actually acted as a negative factor in the securities market by applying VAR model. At the same time, it was demonstrated that ESG indices of the US and Korea outperformed their benchmark in terms of return and risk during the pandemic regime. The result of this study hints that the importance of ESG investment will be unchanged after Covid-19. At the same time, it suggests that managers should avoid passive ESG management and engage in strategic ESG management based on knowledge management.

  • The term 'fourth industrial revolution' was mentioned at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in 2016 and has become a term representing a new industrial era based on information and communication technology (ICT). In the environment of the 4th industrial revolution, ESG management activities are becoming a very important factor in business activities. With the emergence of a new paradigm of organizational operation in the post Covid19 era, the demands for ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) investment related to the environment, social responsibility are increasing. This study examines the role that can support ESG management by utilizing the expertise of appraisers. Real estate is one of the fields of high public interest, and since most ESGs have been conducted centered on the role of private companies, the role of the expert group or the role of public corporations and public institutions is relatively insufficient. If a company or general company engaged in the real estate investment business establishes the role of the Korea Appraisers Association to revitalize ESG management using appraisers, such as ESG appraisers, when investing in real estate, it is believed that it will be possible to promote efficient and sound development of the real estate industry. It was judged that a study on a group of experts was also necessary. In addition, even if the impact of Covid-19 is excluded, it is necessary to gradually introduce an appraisal using non-face-to-face or various advanced technologies (the 4th industry). This study differs from previous studies in that it focused on the role of ESG by the Korea Association of Property Appraisers while research on the role of ESG in public institutions or expert groups is being actively conducted in recent years.

The Effects of ESG on Returns : Focusing on Chinese IT Companies

  • This paper selects 100 IT companies listed on the Shenzhen Stock Exchange from 2016 to 2020, and the public announcement in Hwajung collects ESG integrated ratings and grades for each sector and empirically verifies the relationship between ESG ratings and stock returns. Huazheng ESG level data and QIANZHAN database Using corporate financial data, a total of 500 samples were selected through correlation analysis and linear regression analysis with SPSS23 to analyze the effect of ESG on Return. As a result of the analysis, first, the impact on stock returns was found to be a significant positive (+) value for ESG integrated ratings and ratings by E (environment), S (social), and G (governance) sectors, confirming that ESG ratings have a positive mold of corporate stock returns. Currently, the world's major economies have proposed sustainable development strategies and "carbon neutral" goals. Development strategies are very consistent with ESG concepts, and companies that agree and execute ESG concepts may have higher ratings than other companies in the same industry, resulting in certain evaluation premiums. In addition, capital market performance in recent years shows that companies with ESG concepts or "carbon neutrality" concepts are generally considered to have higher growth potential and stronger anti-risk capabilities in the market. For listed companies, they should focus on ESG investment, improve ESG performance, and actively disclose related information to investors. Improving ESG performance should deliver positive information to society, enhance corporate image, increase market confidence in the future development of listed companies, and positively improve corporate value to actively increase financial, financial, trading, and other aspects of negotiation.

  • As competition between companies intensifies in the global management environment, ESG management is emerging as a tool for companies to have competitive advantages, and it is becoming increasingly important for companies to form strategic partnerships using SCM. Through the investigation of the previous research, the main factors such as ESG management, SCM partnership, corporate image, performance and so on were analyzed. As a result, the stronger ESG management factors such as the environment and society are, the higher the corporate image. Second, ESG management, such as the environment and society, has a significant impact on corporate performance. Third, ESG management activities such as environment and society have enhanced SCM partnerships. Fourth, it was confirmed that the stronger the SCM partnership, the better the corporate image. Fifth, the improvement of the corporate image of non-financial performance will have a more significant impact on corporate performance. In terms of academic and practical implications, it leads to important factors to be considered in the introduction of ESG management by companies, and empirically explores the relationship between each factor. The ESG management of Korean start-ups needs to be promoted according to environmental and social factors, and the ESG management needs to be implemented from a long-term perspective.

  • Purpose: The purpose of this study is to look at the current status and cases of ESG at home and abroad, and through this, seek ways to activate the ESG strategy of domestic SMEs and suggest a direction. Research design, data and methodology: This study examines the current status of ESG management at home and abroad and examples of companies through related literature on ESG management and performance. Through this, the strategic direction of ESG management of domestic SMEs was presented. Results: Compared to the government and major corporations, SMEs can be said to lack ESG management activities. ESG activities include environmental activities such as carbon neutrality, waste management, eco-friendly supply chain management, establishment of safety and health processes to improve workers' environment, expansion of governance to guarantee autonomy and profitability such as fair trade, protection of social and shareholder rights such as anti-corruption, etc. should be based on Therefore, there are difficulties in ESG activities of SMEs that lack funds and manpower.   • Recently, our society and environment has changed rapidly due to the pandemic caused by the COVID-19 virus. In this rapidly changing environment, companies fulfill their social responsibilities and require non-financial elements of transparent management activities. ESG has become one of the non-financial factors, and interest of ESG management is increasing worldwide. In this paper, we examine the importance of ESG concept and ESG management performance and the correlation with companies, and examine the necessity of ESG management for companies in the future. The literature reviews are conducted on CU which is currently best practicing ESG management through various secondary data. Also, we used interview articles so that reflect the rich voice of the distribution industry. In addition, after examining ESG characteristics through examples of global companies, we looked at BGF Retail's CU convenience store ESG activities, which is a leader in ESG management, in distribution industry. CU was divided into all sectors of E, S, and G, and all sectors were actively engaged in activities and flexibly coping with changing environments and social needs. In particular, it was confirmed that CU's environmental management, which focuses the most, achieved successful results due to the increase in actual consumption of customers. ESG management activities at CU convenience stores are currently ongoing and future tasks. As a leading company in ESG management in the current industry, it is meaningful to understand the process of growing into a company that shares concerns, efforts, and practical activities and fulfills social responsibility. Through this study, the changes and growth of CU and domestic companies to ESG and sustainable management are expected in the futures.

Effects of ESG Management Activities of Food Companies on Corporate Performance (식품기업의 ESG 경영활동이 기업성과에 미치는 영향)

  • Purpose: Corporate management is under pressure to contribute to social values beyond profit-seeking, and interest in ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) is increasing worldwide. In the recent global climate change crisis and the COVID-19 pandemic, the importance of non-financial values such as ESG is increasing. Therefore, the purpose of this study is to prepare a strategy for future ESG management activities by analyzing the impact of it on corporate performance by food companies. Research design, data and methodology: ESG-related research trends, ESG activities, and corporate performance were analyzed. After that, a regression analysis was conducted to identify the relationship between ESG evaluation grade and corporate performance. Result: ESG management activities measured by ESG scores did not significantly affect the return on assets, one of the variables of corporate performance. However, as a result of setting the return on equity as a dependent variable, ESG management activities have a nonlinear relationship with corporate performance, and ESG management activities have a positive effect on corporate performance when investment in ESG management activities is reasonable. Conclusions: These results show that food companies should engage in an appropriate level of ESG management activities to improve corporate performance.
