Cu-based leadframe sheets were oxidized ic a hot alkaline solution to black-oxide layer on the surface and molded with epoxy molding compound(EMC), and finally machined to form sandwiched double-cantilever beam(SDCB) and sandwiched Brazil-nut(SBN)specimers to measure the adhesion strength of leadframe-EMC interface. The SDCB and the SBN specimens were designed to measure the adhesion strength in terms fracture toughness under puasi-mode I and mixed mode loadinf, respectively. After the tests, fracture surfaces were analyzed paths were observed in the SDCB-tested speciments, failure paths varied with crack speed and loading conditions.
The micro crack was occurred where the stress concentrated by the thermal stress which was induced during the cooling period after molding process or by the various reliability tests. In order to estimate the possibility of development from inside micro crack to outside fracture, the fracture toughness of EMC should be measured under the various applicable condition. But study was conducted very rarely for the above area. In order to provide a was to decide the fracture resistance of EMC (Epoxy Molding Compound) of plastic package which is produced by using transfer molding method, measuring fracture is studied. The specimens were made with various EMC material. The diverse combination of test conditions, such as different temperature, temperature /humidity conditions, different filler shapes, and post cure treatment, were tried to examine the effects of environmental condition on the fracture toughness. This study proposed a way which could improve the reliability of LOC(Lead On Chip) type package by comparing the measured $J_{IC}$ of EMC and the calculated J-integral value from FEM(Finite Element Method). The measured $K_{IC}$ value of EMC above glass transition temperature dropped sharply as the temperature increased. The $K_{IC}$ was observed to be higher before the post cure treatment than after the post cure treatment. The change of $J_{IC}$ was significant by time change. J-integral was calculated to have maximum value the angle of the direction of fracture at the lead tip was 0 degree in SOJ package and -30 degree in TSOP package. The results FEM simulation were well agreed with the results of measurement within 5% tolerance. The package crack was proved to be affected more by the structure than by the composing material of package. The structure and the composing material are the variables to reduce the package crack.ack.

In this paper, the preliminary EMC analysis process between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and the Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) launch vehicles in the frequency range is described. The considered launch vehicles are Arian Ⅴ, Sea Launch, Land Launch, Atlas III&Ⅴ, Delta IV, Proton M/breeze M, Soyuz, H II-Aa. The launch vehicle Radiated Susceptibility (RS) specifications have been compared to COMS satellite Radiated Emission (RE) limits. The COMS Radiated Emission (RE) level is determined by calculating the radiated field equal to the quadratic sum of radiated emissions of each equipment switched "ON" during launch. As a result, The RS requirements of Arian V, Atlas III&V and Delta IV lauchers are compliant with COMS RE limits. The negative margins appear between the others launch vehicle RS (Sea Launch, Land Launch, Proton M/Breeze M, Soyuz and H II-A) and COMS RE. Then, if the launchers that have negative margin were chosen by the customer, The EMC tests should be performed at satellite level in order to demonstrate the compatibility with respect to launch vehicles requirements.

Owing to revolutionary developments in automobile technologies, a variety of advanced vehicles - hybrid vehicle, hydrogen fuel-cell vehicle, electric vehicle, etc. - emerges recently. The safety is getting more important for developing automobiles. The electro-magnetic compatibility has to be assured, since those advanced vehicles are equipped with various new electronic systems. Electro-magnetic compatibility tests, in general, consist of an EMI(electro-magnetic interference) test and an EMS (electro-magnetic susceptibility) test. We investigated the susceptibility test method suggested in KMVSS (Korean Motor Vehicle Safety Standard) as the EMS test method. A series of experiments results that the above test method should be partially revised to comply with a Korean governmental standard method. In this paper, the some directions of modifications are presented to enhance the quality of the above EMS test method.

In this paper, the preliminary EMC analysis process between the Communication, Ocean and Meteorological Satellite (COMS) and Geostationary Earth Orbit (GEO) launch vehicles in the frequency range [1MHz-47MHz] is described. The considered launch vehicles are arian V, sea Launch, land Launch, atlas III&V, delta IV, proton M/breeze M, soyuz, HII-A and Angara. The launch vehicle Radiated Emission (RE) specifications have been compared to COMS satellite Radiated Susceptibility (RS) limits. The COMS RS limits are the RS qualification levels of COMS units during launch. As a result, The radiated emission levels of arian V, sea launch, atlas III&V, delta IV, proton M/breeze M, HII-A and angara are compliant with COMS RS limits. The negative margins appear between land launch or soyuz launch vehicle RE and COMS RS. Then, if the land launch or soyuz is chosen by the customer, The tests should be performed at satellite level in order to demonstrate the compatibility with respect to launch vehicles specifications.
It is well-known fact that dimensional stability of wood is greatly enhanced by acetylation of wood. This dimensional stability results from bulking of the reacted acetate within the cell wall, which reduces further swelling when the modified woods corne into contact with water or water vapor. The purpose of this research was to determine the water absorption and dimensional stability of the acetylated solid wood in liquid water and in humidity tests. Radiata pine, Siberian larch, and Japanese larch were acetylated. Antiswelling efficiency(ASE) and equilibrium moisture content(EMC) of acetylated wood, at 95% RH and $20^{\circ}C$ after 4weeks, was quite dependent on WPG, but was not dependent on species.
Combined sewer overflow (CSOs) is a primary diffuse source degrading water quality of urban streams. In this study, CSOs caused by 5 different rainfall events at an urban watershed located in Daejeon city were monitored for the indicator microorganism concentrations. Event mean concentration (EMC) of the indicator microorganisms were: total coliform = $2.46{\times}10^6CFU/100mL$; fecal coliform = $1.01{\times}10^6CFU/100mL$; E.coli = $5.20{\times}10^5CFU/100mL$; and Fecal Streptococci = $6.08{\times}10^5CFU/100mL$. In addition, coliform concentrations were well correlated with suspended solid concentrations and the first flush effects were identified. Settling tests were carried out to estimate removal rate of indicator organisms by sedimentation from CSOs. As microorganisms are discharged in association with suspended solid, ten minutes of settlement can lower 44% of indicator microorganism leading.

Popcorn cracking phenomena frequently occur in thin plastic packages during the solder reflow process, which are definitely affected by poor adhesion of Cu-based leadframe to epoxy molding compounds (EMCs). In the present work, in order to enhance the adhesion strength, a brown-oxide treatment on the Cu-based leadframe was carried out and the adhesion strength of leadframe/EMC interface was measured in terms of fracture toughness by using sandwiched double-cantilever beam (SDCB) specimens. After the adhesion tests, fracture surfaces were analyzed by SEM, AES, EDS and AFM to make the failure path clear. Results showed that failure path was closely related to the oxidation time and the interfacial fracture toughness.

This research identifies the ingress to egress primary factors that causes a patient to receive delayed emergency medical care. This material was collected between February 1st to 28th, 1998. Research envolved 4,118 people who visited the college emergency medical center in Kyeongido Province, South Korea. Medical records were examined, using the retrospective method. to determine the length of stay and the main cause for waiting. Results are as follows : 1. The age group with the highest admission rate was 10 and under, approximately 1,394 (33.9%). Followed by an even distribution for ages between 11-50 at 10-15% for their respective ranges. The lowest admission rate was 50 years and above. 2. From the 4,118 records examined, 3,489 received outpatient treatment (84.7%); 601 were admitted for inpatient care (14.6%); 25 arrived dead on arrival (0.6%); and 4 people died at the hospital. 3. Between 7PM to 12AM, 42.9% were admitted to the EMC. The hours from 9PM to 11PM recorded the highest admission rate and 5AM to 8AM was the lowest From 8PM to 12AM, the most beds were occupied. 4. For most patients. the average length of stay was approximately 2.2 hours. By medical department, external medicine was the longest for 2.8 hours. Pediatrics was the shortest for 1.6 hours. The average waiting period for inpatient admission was 2.6 hours. Inpatient admission for pediatrics and external medicine was 3.4 hours and 2.2 hours respectively. 5. Theses are primary factors for delay at EMC: 1) pronged medical consultations to decide between inpatient versus outpatient treatment, and delaying to be inpatient, 2) when you call physicians they are delayed to come 3) Understaffing during peak or critical hours, 4) Excessive consulting with different medical departments, 5) some patients require longer monitoring periods, 6) medical records are delayed in transit between departments, 7) repeated laboratory tests make delay the result, 8) overcrowded emergency x-ray place causes delay taking x-ray and portable x-ray, 9) the distance between EMC and registration and cashier offices is too far. 10) hard to control patient's family members. The best way to reduce EMC waiting and staying time is by cooperation between departments, both medical and administrative. Each department must work beyond their job description or duty and help each other to provide the best medical service and satisfy the patient needs. The most important answer to shortened the EMC point from ingress to egress is to see things from a patient point of view and begin from there to find the solution.

For the EMC test, the radiation characteristics and immunity characteristics of the EUT are measured under the condition that the EUT maintains its normal operation. For normal operation of the EUT, it is necessary to operate the EUT and monitor its status through separate equipment outside the anechoic chamber. External equipment operates and monitors the EUT through various communications such as 1553B communication, RS-485 communication, and Ethernet communication. At this time, external equipment can transmit noise through the communication line. This noise is transmitted to the LISN through the connected power cable and measured. It is also radiated through the connection terminal to the LISN. In this case, the communication line is the power line It should be designed so that noise is not transmitted through electromagnetic isolation as much as possible. In addition, noise from external equipment must be suppressed as much as possible from entering the chamber through the communication line. In this paper, external EUT test equipment applied for EMC test It explains the considerations in the design and manufacture of the design and explains the satisfaction of the design through tests including CE and RE.
