  • Global cyber threats to industrial control systems are increasing. As a result, related research and cooperation are actively underway. However, we are focusing on strengthening security for physical network separation and perimeter. Internal threats are still vulnerable. This is because the easiest and strongest countermeasure is to enhance border security, and solutions for enhancing internal security are not easy to apply due to system availability problems. In particular, there are many vulnerabilities due to the large number of legacy systems remaining throughout industrial control systems. Unless these vulnerable systems are newly built according to the security framework, it is necessary to respond to these vulnerable systems, and therefore, a security solution considering availability has been verified and suggested. Using Sysmon and ELK, security solutions can detect Cyber-threat that are difficult to detect in unstructured ICS.

  • This study, which was designed to improve and increase the utilization of female elk, examined the possibility of collecting their embryos during the non-reproductive period using ultrasound-guided Ovum Pick-Up (OPU) technology. Once follicles in the ovaries of an elk were observed, the embryos were retrieved through the absorption of the follicles using an OPU ultrasound probe. Fifty-seven embryos were retrieved from 85 follicles, giving a retrieval rate of 67.1%. Morphological evaluation of the recovered embryos revealed 14.0% embryos to be in grade A, 19.2% in grade B, 15.7% in grade C, and 50.8% in grade D. The developmental efficiency of the retrieved embryos was also investigated using in vitro maturation, in vitro fertilization, and in vitro culture. After cultivating 28 embryos through in vitro fertilization, 19 embryos were found to be fertilized; the fertilization rate was 67.9%. Four embryos developed to the blastocyst stage, indicating a 14.3% development rate. This study confirmed that the production of fertilized embryos from a seasonal breeder, such as elk, is possible via the ultrasound-guided OPU method. If the efficiency of in vitro fertilization and in vitro culture can be improved through further research, it will help improve the efficiency of elk embryo production through the transplantation of their fertilized embryos.

  • This study was conducted to provide the basic information to allow improved scientific assessment of velvet antler's quality by investigating the change of chemical composition during different antler growth stages in elk (Cervus elaphus canadensis). Twenty four antlers were harvested from elk stags (aged 4-5 years) on 65 days (VA65), 80 days (VA80) and 95 days (VA95) after button casting, and the chemical composition of each antler was determined in five sections (top, upper, middle, base, and bottom). Crude protein and ether extract content was the highest in the top section, whereas ash content was the highest in the bottom section in all groups (p<0.05). Glycosaminoglycan (GAG) content was higher in the VA65 group than in the VA95 group in the upper section of antler (p<0.05). The collagen content was higher in the VA65 group compared to the VA95 group in the middle and bottom sections (p<0.05), and increased downward from the top to the bottom section. The proportions of certain amino acids, including aspartic acid, glutamic acid and isoleucine were higher (p<0.05), whereas proline and glycine were lower in the top section of antler compared to all other sections (p<0.05). The proportion of linoleic acid, 11,14,17-eicosatrienoic acid, total ${\omega}$-3 and ${\omega}$-6 fatty acids and polyunsaturated fatty acids (PUFAs) for all sections in the VA65 group was higher than in the VA95 group (p<0.05). These results suggested that the quality of velvet antler is strongly influenced by antler development stage.

  • The experimental work has been carried out for the study of pyrolysis and char-air reaction of five coals used in Y power station in Korea. For five coals, the characteristics of pyrolyis and char reaction have been investigated with TGA, and their kinetic parameters were obtained and compared each other. The order of pyrolysis rate for five coals were as follows : Peabody, Flame, MIP, Indominco, Elk valley. The behavior of char - air reaction for five coal chars have been successfully described by the grain model. The rate of char-air reaction gave the maximum value for Flame coal char, on the while Elk valley coal char had the minimum value. For the reaction temperature over 1,000K, Flame coal char - air reaction was very fast compared with other coal chars.

  • Comparative studies of histopathologic lesions from 23 purified protein derivative (PPD) positive cattle, 21 slaughter cattle found with tuberculosis, and 11 tuberculosis-positive elk (Cervus elaphus) were performed. PPD positive cattle did not show specific histopathologic lesions in all 23 heads that were no visible lesion reactor. Slaughter cattle found with tuberculosis revealed microscopically classical granulomatous lesion (tubercle) with central caseous necrosis surrounded by mantle of epithelioid cells and Langhan's giant cells capsuled by connective tissue in lung. Elk was noted with some different lesion patterns with classical granulomatous lesion and suppurative abscesses that was composed of fibrin, degenerated cells without having connective tissue. In addition, many Langhan's giant cells infiltration in alveoli at peripheral lesion were observed in some cases of classical granulomatous lesion and suppurative abscesses.
