  • In 2021, seven yeast strains were isolated from earthworm (Eisenia andrei) gut samples collected from the Nanji Water Regeneration Center in Goyang City, Gyeonggi Province, Korea. A total of seven yeasts were isolated, of which three strains have not been previously reported in Korea. To identify the yeasts, pairwise sequence comparisons of large subunit (LSU) rDNA sequences were performed using the basic local alignment search tool (BLAST). Assimilation test and cell morphology analysis were performed using the API 20C AUX kit and phase contrast microscope, respectively. Five of the seven strains were assigned to the genus Candida of the order Saccharomycetales of the class Saccharomycetes, and two to the genus Apiotrichum of the order Trichosporonales of the class Tremellomycetes. The yeast strain Candida sojae E2 belongs to the family Debaryomycetaceae, and Apiotrichum laibachii E8 and A. laibachii E9 belong to the family Trichosporonaceae. All strains were cultured in yeast mold agar for three days and showed different colony forms. C. sojae E2 was round and entire shaped, while A. laibachii E8 and A. laibachii E9 was round and convex shaped. This study focuses on the description of the three yeast strains that have not been officially reported in Korea.

  • A fretting wear experiment in roam temperature air was performed to evaluate the wear mechanism of fuel rod using a fretting wear tester, which has been developed for experimental study, The main focus was to compare the wear behaviors of fuel rod against support springs with different contact contours (i.e. concave and convex). Wear volume, degree or surface hardening and adhesion tendency of wear particle were examined by the surface roughness tester. The result indicated that with a change of contact condition from contact force of 5 N to 0.1 mm gap, the wear volume of tube increased in the condition of concave spring, but slowly decreased in convex spring. From the results of SEM observation, wear mechanism of each test condition was also dependent on the spring shapes. The wear mechanism of each test condition in room temperature air is discussed.

  • In this paper, we propose new multiuser detectors (MUDs) based on compressed sensing approaches for the large-scale multiple antenna systems equipped with dozens of low-power antennas. We consider the scenarios where the number of receiver antennas is smaller than the total number of users, but the number of active users is relatively small. This prior information motivates sparsity-embracing MUDs such as sparsity-embracing linear/nonlinear MUDs where the detection of active users and their symbol detection are employed. In addition, sparsity-embracing MUDs with maximum a posteriori probability criterion (MAP-MUDs) are presented. They jointly detect active users and their symbols by exploiting the probability of user activity, and it can be solved efficiently by introducing convex relaxing senses. Furthermore, it is shown that sparsity-embracing MUDs exploiting common users' activity across multiple symbols, i.e., frame-by-frame, can be considered to improve performance. Also, in multiple multiple-input and multiple-output networks with aggressive frequency reuse, we propose the interference cancellation strategy for the proposed sparsity-embracing MUDs. That first cancels out the interference induced by adjacent networks and then recovers the desired users' information by exploiting the low user activity. In simulation studies for binary phase shift keying modulation, numerical evidences establish the effectiveness of our proposed MUDs exploiting low user activity, as compared with the conventional MUD.

  • Polysilicon on insulator has been recrystallized by zone melting recrystallization method with graphite strip heaters. Experiments are performed with non-seed SOI structures. When the capping layer thickness of Si$\_$3/N$\_$4//SiO$\_$2/ is 2.0.mu.m, grain boundaries are about 120.mu.m spacing and protrusions reduced. After the seed SOI films are annealed at 1100.deg. C in NH$\_$3/ ambient for 3 hours, the recrystallized silicon surface has convex shape. After ZMR process, the tensile stress is 2.49*10$\^$9/dyn/cm$\^$2/ and 3.74*10$\^$9/dyn/cm$\^$2/ in the seed edge and seed center regions. The phenomenon of convex shape and tensile stress difference are completely eliminated by using the PSG/SiO$\_$2/ capping layer. The characterization of SOI films are showed that the SOI films are improved in wetting properties. N channel SOI MOSFET has been fabricated to investigate the electrical characteristics of the recrystallized SOI films. In the 0.7.mu.m thickness SOI MOSFET, kink effects due to the floating substrate occur and the electron mobility was calculated from the measured g$\_$m/ characteristics, which is about 589cm$\^$2//V.s. The recrystallized SOI films are shown to be a good single crystal silicon.

  • Let $R_k({\alpha})$, $0{\leq}{\alpha}<1$, $k{\geq}2$ denote certain subclasses of analytic functions in the unit disc E with bounded radius rotation. A function f, analytic in E and given by $f(z)=z+{\sum_{m=2}^{\infty}}a_m{z^m}$, is said to be in the family $R_k(n,{\alpha})n{\in}N_o=\{0,1,2,{\cdots}\}$ and * denotes the Hadamard product. The classes $R_k(n,{\alpha})$ are investigated and same properties are given. It is shown that $R_k(n+1,{\alpha}){\subset}R_k(n,{\alpha})$ for each n. Some integral operators defined on $R_k(n,{\alpha})$ are also studied.

  • Lpt X be a reduced Stein space and L a holomorphic line bundle on X. L is spanned by its global sections and the associated holomorphic map $h_L\;:\;X{\to}P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})$ is an embedding. Choose any locally convex vector topology ${\tau}\;on\;H^0(X, L)^{\ast}$ stronger than the weak-topology. Here we prove that $h_L(X)$ is sequentially closed in $P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})$ and arithmetically Cohen -Macaulay. i.e. for all integers $k{\ge}1$ the restriction map ${\rho}_k\;:\;H^0(P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast}),\;O_{P(H^0(X, L)^{\ast})}(k)){\to}H^0(h_L(X),O_{hL_(X)}(k)){\cong}H^0(X, L^{\otimes{k}})$ is surjective.

  • In this paper, we investigate exponentially biharmonic maps u : (M, g) ${\rightarrow}$ (N, h) from a Riemannian manifold into a Riemannian manifold with non-positive sectional curvature. We obtain that if $\int_{M}e^{\frac{p{\mid}r(u){\mid}^2}{2}{\mid}{\tau}(u){\mid}^pdv_g$ < ${\infty}$ ($p{\geq}2$), $\int_{M}{\mid}{\tau}(u){\mid}^2dv_g$ < ${\infty}$ and $\int_{M}{\mid}d(u){\mid}^2dv_g$ < ${\infty}$, then u is harmonic. When u is an isometric immersion, we get that if $\int_{M}e^{\frac{pm^2{\mid}H{\mid}^2}{2}}{\mid}H{\mid}^qdv_g$ < ${\infty}$ for 2 ${\leq}$ p < ${\infty}$ and 0 < q ${\leq}$ p < ${\infty}$, then u is minimal. We also obtain that any weakly convex exponentially biharmonic hypersurface in space form N(c) with $c{\leq}0$ is minimal. These results give affirmative partial answer to conjecture 3 (generalized Chen's conjecture for exponentially biharmonic submanifolds).

  • This paper studies the problem of the sampled-data control for Lur'e system with nonlinearities. The nonlinearities are expressed as convex combinations of sector and slope bounds. It is assumed that the sampling periods are arbitrarily varying but bounded. By constructing a new augmented Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional which have an augmented quadratic form with states as well as the nonlinear function, the stabilizing sampled-data controller gains are obtained by solving a set of linear matrix inequalities. The effectiveness of the developed method is demonstrated by numerical simulations.

  • E. M. Silvia introduced the class $S^\lambda_\alpha$ of $\alpha$-spirallike functions f(z) satisfying the condition $$ (A) Re[(e^{i\lambda} - \alpha) \frac{zf'(z)}{f(z)} + \alpha \frac{(zf'(z))'}{f'(z)}] > 0, $$ where $\alpha \geq 0, $\mid$\lambda$\mid$ < \frac{\pi}{2}$ and $$\mid$z$\mid$ < 1$. We will generalize Silvia class of functions by formally replacing f(z) in the denominator of (A) by a spirallike function g(z). We denote the new class of functions by $Y(\alpha,\lambda)$. In this note we obtain some results for the class $Y(\alpha,\lambda)$ including integral representation formula, relations between our class $Y(\alpha,\lambda)$ and Ziegler class $Z_\lambda$, the radius of convexity problem, a few coefficient estimates and a covering theorem for the class $Y(\alpha,\lambda)$.
