The Effects of Information System Architecture and Organization Structure on the Use of e-Business in Korean Companies (정보시스템 기술 및 관리구조가 e-비즈니스 활용정도에 미치는 영향에 관한 연구)

  • Recently, e-business has very much attention in the management fields because it is expected to fundamentally change the way many business compete. Business that don't understand the changes and that can't change their operating model in time will be at a disadvantage. Information technology infrastructure and its management are key components of e-business The purpose of this study was to investigate the effects of information technology infrastructure and its management to the type of information systems used and the use of e-business. A total of 56 Korean firms responded to the survey instrument. There was indirect effect to the use of e-business from the information technology structure via communication capacity and direct effect from management type. The study also found that firms with less centralized forms of information technology were more frequent users of e-business, Firms that have more freedom in information technology decision making tended to be users of the new technology and take advantage opportunities that exits on the information technology.

  • We have experienced a revolutionary development in e-business related technologies during the last decade. This research is an effort to figure out and predict the direction of technological development in the area of electronic business. Current e-business related technology typology has been revised with a thorough literature review and expert focus groups. An instrument was developed to measure experts' perception on seven dimensions of e-business related technology. Based on this survey results, e-business technology roadmaps were developed and presented. Policy implications were discussed at the end.

  • E-business managers must make a profit on the goods and services they sell. But e-business retailers are still searching for strategies that work. To test current practices, we became 'phantom shoppers' and bought a randomly chosen set of CDs from a variety of E-business manager. Our findings suggest that order management and logistics skills are pivotal for selling profitably on the Website. In this article, we show how e-business managers can deploy resources creatively to attract the right shoppers, convert these shoppers into buyers, and improve the chances of repeat purchase while maintaining profit margins.

  • Interest of Business Model has been increased continuously in the enterprise ever since IT(Information Technology) is introduced in the Business sector. Though lots of company's effort to build Business Model which expected to give profit to company, there are no guarantee of Business Model's success.   • E-business has received much attention from entrepreneurs, executives, investors, and industry observers recently. The Internet is flourishing and the World Wide Web is growing at an exponential rate In recent years, information has become the critical commodity needed for success in the changing global economic order. Accordingly, business organizations have come to the conclusion that they require an extensive data repository in order to acquire a competitive advantage in a dynamically change market. This rich assortment of data must further be delivered and deliverable enterprise-wide in a secure and cost-efficient manner. Information technology(IT) has created the E-business as a vitally important mechanism for the storage, dissemination, and even the analysis data. The E-business has become increasingly important to a growing number of organizations in Korea in relatively short order. The present study is an attempt to develop a more through understanding of the potential and actual impact of the E-business on organizational functions and activities. Expecially, it also consists of an effort to assess the impact of the E-business on productivity. The research also addresses the issue of how the E-business affects productivity and shapes or modifies business activities. The results of literature review and study revealed that middle managers believe that the extent of the E-business use is significantly related to improvements in overall organizational functions and activities. While communication, decision-making, productivity, work collaboration, and business activities are all enhanced by E-business use, productivity appears to be most dramatically improved by Intranet use.

  • The research in the field of quality engineering has mainly focused on the manufactured products. The philosophy and concept of the existing quality engineering should be equally applicable in the coming e-Business era. However, there would be numerous new quality-related issues in the e-Business environment, due to the fundamental change in the business processes, which did not exist in the past. This paper first proposes a framework for quality engineering research suited for the e-Business environment, and then identifies major quality-related issues that should be resolved in the near future. It also evaluates the potential usefulness and limitations of the existing quality engineering tools in resolving such issues.

  • E-business is one of business innovations to get competitive advantage over other competing companies by utilizing information technology which can make to enhance the efficiencies and effectiveness through connecting one or several value activities. E-transformation is the process of business innovation to trans brick and motor companies to brick and click companies to accomodate e-business environments by means of digitalizing business strategy, business system, business process, and company cultures. In this results, the company can develop entirely new value chain of business and render enhanced services to customers. In this paper, I will represent several e-transformation evaluation models which are used to realize e-transformation(trans from brick and motor companies to brick and click companies). Also, I propose the strategic thrust model, which is composed of strategic targets (customer, suppliers, partners) and strategic tools(technology innovation, integration). This model is differentiated with evaluation models in that it can capture the rapidly changing business environments, especially strategic targets(customers, suppliers, partners).
