It is investigated that the relation between the response time of DVR(Dynamic Voltage Restorer) and the possible compensation range of voltage dip by the DVR system which protects the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier from voltage dip. As a result, the permissible range of voltage dip is presented in the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier, and it is presented that the range of voltage dip which can be compensated according to the DVR s response time. when the DVR compensates voltage dip, Using the proposed method, the DVR s response time can be determined from the parameters of 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier and the possible compensation range of voltage dip, and it is possible to use the control system which have an appropriate speed. Therefore, the use of excessively fast device can be avoided, and the stability of the overall system is improved. Also the reliance of DVR about the 3-phase phase-controlled rectifier can be verified.
The electronic property of graphene was investigated by hydrazine treatment. Hydrazine ($N_2H_4$) highly increases electron concentrations and up-shifts Fermi level of graphene based on significant shift of Dirac point to the negative gate voltage. We have observed contact resistance and channel length dependent mobility of graphene in the back-gated device after hydrazine monohydrate treatment and continuously monitored electrical characteristics under Nitrogen or air exposure. The contact resistance increases with hydrazine-treated and subsequent Nitrogen-exposed devices and reduces down in successive Air-exposed device to the similar level of pristine one. The channel conductance curve as a function of gate voltage in hole conduction regime keeps analogous value and shape even after Nitrogen/Air exposure specially whereas, in electron conduction regime change rate of conductance along with the level of conductance with gate voltage are decreased. Hydrazine could be utilized as the highly effective donor without degradation of mobility but the stability issue to be solved for future application.
Voltage feed-forward control (VFFC) is widely used in LCL-type grid-tied inverters due to its advantages in terms of disturbance rejection performance and fast dynamic response. However, VFFC may worsen the stability of inverters under weak grid conditions. It is revealed in this paper that a large phase-lag in the low-frequency range is introduced by VFFC, which reduces the phase margin significantly and leads to instability. To address this problem, a novel virtual-impedance-based control, where a phase-lead is introduced into the low-frequency area to compensate for the phase lag caused by VFFC, is proposed to improve system stability. The proposed control is realized with a high-pass filter, without high-order-derivative components. It features easy implementation and good noise immunity. A detailed design procedure for the virtual impedance control is presented. Both theoretical analysis and experimental results verify the effectiveness of the control proposed.
The controllability and stability of power systems can be increased by Flexible AC Transmission Devices (FACTs). One of the FACTs devices is Interline Power-Flow Controller (IPFC) by which the voltage stability, dynamic stability and transient stability of power systems can be improved. In the present paper, the convenient operation and control of IPFC for transient stability improvement are considered. Considering that the system's Lyapunov energy function is a relevant tool to study the stability affair. IPFC energy function optimization has been used in order to access the maximum of transient stability margin. In order to control IPFC, a Brain Emotional Learning Based Intelligent Controller (BELBIC) and PI controller have been used. The utilization of the new controller is based on the emotion-processing mechanism in the brain and is essentially an action selection, which is based on sensory inputs and emotional cues. This intelligent control is based on the limbic system of the mammalian brain. Simulation confirms the ability of BELBIC controller compared with conventional PI controller. The designing results have been studied by the simulation of a single-machine system with infinite bus (SMIB) and another standard 9-buses system (Anderson and Fouad, 1977).
High-performance Phase-Locked Loops (PLLs) are critical for grid synchronization in grid-tied power electronic applications. In this paper, a new single-phase All Digital Phase-Locked Loop (ADPLL) is proposed. It features fast transient response and good robustness under distorted grid conditions. It is designed for Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) implementation. As a result, a high sampling frequency of 1MHz can be obtained. In addition, a new OSG is adopted to track the power frequency, improve the harmonic rejection and remove the dc offset. Unlike previous methods, it avoids extra feedback loop, which results in an enlarged system bandwidth, enhanced stability and improved dynamic performance. In this case, a new parameter optimization method with consideration of loop delay is employed to achieve a fast dynamic response and guarantee accuracy. The Phase Detector (PD) and Voltage Controlled Oscillator (VCO) are realized by a Coordinate Rotation Digital Computer (CORDIC) algorithm and a Direct Digital Synthesis (DDS) block, respectively. The whole PLL system is finally produced on a FPGA. A theoretical analysis and experiments under various distorted grid conditions, including voltage sag, phase jump, frequency step, harmonics distortion, dc offset and combined disturbances, are also presented to verify the fast dynamic response and good robustness of the ADPLL.
In this study, nonlinear vibrations and dynamic instabilities of a smart embedded micro shell conveying varied fluid flow and subjected to the combined electro-thermo-mechanical loadings are investigated. With the aim of designing new hydraulic sensors and actuators, the piezoelectric materials are employed for the body and the effects of applying electric field on the stability of the system as well as the induced voltage due to the dynamic behavior of the system are studied. The nonlocal piezoelasticity theory and the nonlinear cylindrical shell model in conjunction with the energy approach are utilized to mathematically modeling of the structure. The fluid flow is assumed to be isentropic, incompressible and fully develop, and for more generality of the problem both steady and time dependent flow regimes are considered. The mathematical modeling of fluid flow is also carried out based on a scalar potential function, time mean Navier-Stokes equations and the theory of slip boundary condition. Employing the modified Lagrange equations for open systems, the nonlinear coupled governing equations of motion are achieved and solved via the state space problem; forth order numerical integration and Bolotin's method. In the numerical results, a comprehensive discussion is made on the dynamical instabilities of the system (such as divergence, flutter and parametric resonance). We found that applying positive electric potential field will improve the stability of the system as an actuator or vibration amplitude controller in the micro electro mechanical systems.

Load models are very important for improving the accuracy of stability analysis and load flow studies. Various loads are connected to a power bus and their characteristics of power consumption change with voltage and frequency. Thus, the effect of voltage/frequency changes must be considered in load modeling. In this work, artificial neural networks-ANNs- were used to construct the component load models for more accurate modeling. A typical residential load was selected and subjected to a test under variable voltage/frequency conditions. Acquired data were used to construct component models by ANNs. The aggregation process of separately determined load models is also presented in the paper. Furthermore, this paper proposes a method to transform a single load model constructed by the aggregation method into a mathematical load model that can be used in traditional power system analysis software.
In this paper a robust voltage controller of single-phase inverter for UPS is presented. The voltage controller is designed using ${\mu}-based$ robust control scheme to simultaneously guarantee robust stability and robust tracking performance in presence of filter and load parameter variations. Firstly the robust performance of the resulting controller is theoretically confirmed via ${\mu}-analysis$. Then simulation results for single-phase inverter system with linear and nonlinear loads demonstrate feasibility of the proposed control method providing improved performance - good regulation and fast dynamic response.
This paper presents a novel close-loop control scheme based on small signal modeling and weighted composite voltage feedback for a three-phase input and single-phase output Matrix Converter (3-1MC). A small non-polar capacitor is employed as the decoupling unit. The composite voltage weighted by the load voltage and the decoupling unit voltage is used as the feedback value for the voltage controller. Together with the current loop, the dual-loop control is implemented in the 3-1MC. In this paper, the weighted composite voltage expression is derived based on the sinusoidal pulse-width modulation (SPWM) strategy. The switch functions of the 3-1MC are deduced, and the average signal model and small signal model are built. Furthermore, the stability and dynamic performance of the 3-1MC are studied, and simulation and experiment studies are executed. The results show that the control method is effective and feasible. They also show that the design is reasonable and that the operating performance of the 3-1MC is good.
In this paper, we developed to artificial neural network for load characteristic identification of power system. We can acquire active power and reactive power of individual load depending on the variation of voltage and frequency from the experimentation of a dynamic characteristic of load. The data of the experimental results were be used in learning of ANN. A proposed ANN model is applied to analyze the transient stability. To demonstrate the propriety of the power system transient stability with load model using ANN, the simulation of the two-machine five-bus system is carried out.
