  • A 160 MW drum-type boiler-turbine system is developed in the present research through a multi-multivariable dynamic matrix control (DMC) scheme and a multi-multivariable model approach. A novel intelligence-based decision mechanism (IBDM) is realized to support both model approach and control scheme. In such case, the responsibility of the proposed IBDM is to identify the best multivariable model of the system and the corresponding multivariable DMC scheme to cope with the system at each instant of time in an appropriate manner.

  • This paper presents deterministic and adaptive control laws for two-link flexible arm. The flexible arm has considerable structural flexibility. Because of its flexbility, dynamic equations are very complex and difficult to get, dynamic equations for two-link flexible arm are derived from Bernoulli-Euler beam theory and Lagrangian equation. Using the fact that matrix is skew symmetric, controllers which have a simplified structure with less computational burden are proposed by using Lyapunov stability theory.

  • A new controller design algorithm based on the Hessenberg form for linear control systems has een proposed. The controller is composed of the dynamic compensator and the state feedback (dynamic state feedback). The algorithm gives a simple way to assign the eigenstructure (eigenvalues and eigenvectors) of the closed loop system and it also provides a method to assign the frequency shapes near the corner frequencies of the closed loop transfer function matrix. Because of this property, the algorithm is called the independent frequency shape control (IFSC) method.

  • A general construction algorithm of the Grassmann space parameters in linear systems - so-called, the Plucker matrix, 'L' in m-input, p-output, n-th order static output feedback systems and the Plucker matrix, $'L^{aug}'$ in augmented (m+d)-input, (p+d)-output, (n+d)-th order static output feedback systems - is presented for numerical checking of necessary conditions of complete static and complete minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback pole-assignments, respectively, and also for discernment of deterministic computation condition of their pole-assignable real solutions. Through the construction of L, it is shown that certain generically pole-assignable strictly proper mp > n system is actually none pole-assignable over any (real and complex) output feedbacks, by intrinsic rank deficiency of some submatrix of L. And it is also concretely illustrated that this none pole-assignable mp > n system by static output feedback can be arbitrary pole-assignable system via minimum d-th order dynamic output feedback, which is constructed by deterministic computation under fullrank of some submatrix of $L^{aug}$.

  • Because of the shortcomings of the PID controllers and traditional drive systems of permanent magnet synchronous motors (PMSMs), a PMSM passivity-based control (PBC) drive system based on a quasi-Z source matrix converter (QZMC) is proposed in this paper. The traditional matrix converter is a buck converter with a maximum voltage transmission ratio of only 0.866, which limits the performance of the driven motor. Therefore, in this paper a quasi-Z source circuit is added to the input side of the two-stage matrix converter (TSMC) and its working principle has also been verified. In addition, the controller of the speed loop and current loop in the conventional vector control of a PMSM is a PID controller. The PID controller has the problem since its parameters are difficult to adjust and its anti-interference capability is limited. As a result, a port controlled dissipative Hamiltonian model (PCHD) of a PMSM is established. Thereafter a passivity-based controller based on the interconnection and damping assignment (IDA) of a QZMC-PMSM is designed, and the stability of the equilibrium point is theoretically verified. Simulation and experimental results show that the designed PBC control system of a PMSM based on a QZMC can make the PMSM run stably at the rated speed. In addition, the system has strong robustness, as well as good dynamic and static performances.

  • In this paper, the dynamic controller design problem of a redundant planar 2-dof parallel manipulator is studied. Using the Euler-Lagrange equation, we formulate the dynamic model of the parallel manipulator in the joint space and propose an augmented PD controller with forward dynamic compensation for the parallel manipulator. By formulating the controller in the joint space, we eliminate the complex computation of the Jacobian matrix of joint angles with end-effector coordinate. So with less computation, our controller is easier to implement, and a shorter sampling period can be achieved, which makes the controller more suitable for high-speed motion control. Furthermore, with the combination of static friction model and viscous friction model, the active joint friction of the parallel manipulator is studied and compensated in the controller. Based on the dynamic parameters of the parallel manipulator evaluated by direct measurement and identification, motion control experiments are implemented. With the experiments, the validity of the dynamic model is proved and the performance of the controller is evaluated. Experiment results show that, with forward dynamic compensation, the augmented PD controller can improve the tracking performance of the parallel manipulator over the simple PD controller.

  • It is prerequisite to apply dynamics controller to control robot manipulator required to perform fast and Precise motion. In this Paper, we Propose an adaptive 3earning control method for the dynamic control of a robot manipulator. The proposed control scheme is made up of PD controller in the feedback loop and the adaptive learning controller in the feedforward loop. This control scheme has the ability to estimate uncertain dynamic parameters included intrinsically in the system and to achieve the desired performance without the nasty matrix operation. The proposed method is applied to a SCARA robot and experimentally verified.

  • Using the vision system, robotic tasks in unstructured environments can be accompished, which reduces greatly the cost and steup time for the robotic system to fit to he well-defined and structured working environments. This paper proposes a dynamic control scheme for robot manipulator with eye-in-hand camera configuration. To perfom the tasks defined in the image plane, the camera motion Jacobian (image Jacobian) matrix is used to transform the camera motion to the objection position change. In addition, the dynamic learning controller is designed to improve the tracking performance of robotic system. the proposed control scheme is implemented for tasks of tracking moving objects and shown to outperform the conventional visual servo system in convergence and robustness to parameter uncertainty, disturbances, low sampling rate, etc.

  • A sufficient condition for the robust D-stability of dynamic interval systems is proposed in this paper. This D-stability condition is based on a parameter-dependent Lyapunov function obtained from the feasibility of a set of matrix inequalities defined at a series of partial-vertex-based interval matrices other than the total vertex matrices as previous results. This condition is also extended to the robust D-stabilization problem of dynamic interval systems, which supplies an effective synthesis procedure for any LMI D-region. The proposed conditions can be simplified to a set of LMIs, which can be solved by efficient interior point methods in polynomial time.

  • In this paper, dynamic behaviors of a small-sized flying robot with 4 rotors propelled by DC motor are discussed, and a control scheme based on the dynamic model to make stable flying motions, i.e., hovering, take-off, cruising behavior, etc. is proposed. The experimental results via some flying tests show good performances for practical use. The flying robot with 6DOF is controlled only 4 DOF, and the rest of two DOF are remained under the dynamic constraints. How to give the stability of all positions and orientations and to make the omni-directional motions in spite of such restrictions is analyzed. The proposed control scheme composes of two stages. First, PD control inputs for the trust-force and orientation are calculated, next the control inputs are distributed to each rotor by using a sort of Jacobian matrix. To design and control of a low cost - small sized flying robot, vibrated gyro sensor, cheap accelerometer, IR, and ultra sonic sensors are selected.
