In this study for reduction degree of freedom of dynamic model, a mixed method to combined finite element method and transfer matrix method is presented. This offers the advantages of an automatic reduction in the size of the eigenvalues problem and of a straightforward means of dynamic substructuring. The analytical procedure in this method for dynamic analysis of 3-dimensional cantilevered box beam are described. the result of numerical example is shown to demonstate the efficiency and accuracy of this method. The result form this example agree well those obtained by ANSYS, By using this technique, the number of nodes required in the regular finite element method is reduced and therefore a smaller com-puter can be used.
In this study, dynamic boundary element method using mass matrix is derived, using fundamental solutions for the semi-infinite domain. In constituting boundary integral equations for the dynamic equilibrium condition, inertia term in the form of domain integral is transformed into boundary integral form. Corresponding system equations are derived, and a boundary element program is developed. In addition, equations for free vibration is formulated, and eigenvalue analysis is performed. The results from the dynamic boundary element analysis for a tunnel problem are compared with those from the finite element analysis. According to the comparison, boundary element method using mass matrix is consistent with the results of finite element method. Consequently, in tunnel vibration problems, it results in reasonable solution compared with other methods where relatively higher degree of freedoms are employed.
Stress wave propagation through concrete is simulated by finite element analysis. The concrete medium is modeled as a homogeneous material with smeared properties to investigate and establish the suitable finite element analysis method (explicit versus implicit) and analysis parameters (element size, and solution time increment) also suitable for rigorous investigation. In the next step, finite element analysis model of the medium is developed using a digital image processing technique, which distinguishes the mortar and aggregate phases of concrete. The mortar and aggregate phase topologies are, then, directly mapped to the finite element mesh to form a heterogeneous concrete model. The heterogeneous concrete model is then used to simulate wave propagation. The veracity of the model is demonstrated by evaluating the intrinsic parameters of nondestructive ultrasonic pulse velocity testing of concrete. Quantitative relationships between aggregate size and testing frequency for nondestructive testing are presented.

This paper compares the arc-length and explicit dynamic solution methods for nonlinear finite element analysis of prestressed concrete members subjected to monotonically increasing loads. The investigations have been conducted using an L-shaped, prestressed concrete spandrel beam, selected as a highly nonlinear problem from the literature to give insight into the advantages and disadvantages of these two solution methods. Convergence problems, computational effort, and quality of the results were investigated using the commercial finite element package ABAQUS. The work in this paper demonstrates that a static analysis procedure, based on the arc-length method, provides more accurate results if it is able to converge on the solution. However, it experiences convergence problems depending upon the choice of mesh configuration and the selection of concrete post-cracking response parameters. The explicit dynamic solution procedure appears to be more robust than the arc-length method in the sense that it provides acceptable solutions in cases when the arc-length approach fails, however solution accuracy may be slightly lower and computational effort may be significantly larger. Furthermore, prestressing forces must be introduced into the finite element model in different ways for the explicit dynamic and arc-length solution procedures.
For the analysis of a vibrating two dimensional structure such as the simply supported rectangular plate, Spectral Finite Element Method (SFEM) has been studied. Under the condition that two parallel edges are simply supported at least and the other two edges can be arbitrary, Spectral Finite Element has been developed. Using this element SFEM is applied to the vibrating rectangular plate which all edges are simply supported, and obtain the frequency response function in frequency domain and the dynamic response in time domain. To evaluate these results normal mode method and finite element method (FEM) are also accomplished and compared. It is seen that SFEM is more powerful analysis tool than FEM in high frequency range.
This paper has the object of investigating dynamic stability of opening thick plates on Pasternak foundation by means of finite element method and providing Kinematic design data for mat of building structures. Finite element analysis of Tapered Thick plate is done by use of rectangular (mite element with 8-nodes. In order to analysis plate which is supported on Pasternak foundation, the Winkler foundation parameter is varied with $10^2,\;10^3$ and the shear foundation parameter is 5, 10. The ratio of In-plane force to critical load is applied as 0.4, 0.6, respectively. This paper analyzed varying Tapered Ratio.
In this study, the dynamic analysis of a beam is analyzed by using the finite element method when the beam has moving mass and axial load. To consider the contact force between the moving mass and beam, coupled nonlinear equations of contact dynamics are derived, and then the weak form for the finite element method is established. The finite element computer programs based on the Lagrange multiplier method are developed to compute the contact force. Furthermore, a variety of simulations are performed for various design parameters such as moving mass velocity, compressive axial load and tension load. Finally, relations between the dynamic response and contact force are also discussed.
This paper presents the dynamic characteristics of a linear brushless dc (BLDC) motor with permanent magnet excitation for the precision conveyor according to the load condition. Dynamic performance of the linear BLDC motor driven with 6 step inverter such as thrust force and speed is simulated by finite element method coupling with external circuit and measured for the prototype motor. The results of finite element analysis are compared to the experimental results and verify reliability.
In this study, free vibration analysis of Reissner plates on Pasternak foundation is carried out by mixed finite element method based on the G$\hat{a}$teaux differential. New boundary conditions are established for plates on Pasternak foundation. This method is developed and applied to numerous problems by Ak$\ddot{o}$z and his co-workers. In dynamic analysis, the problem reduces to the solution of a standard eigenvalue problem and the mixed element is based upon a consistent mass matrix formulation. The element has four nodes and bending and torsional moments, transverse shear forces, rotations and displacements are the basic unknowns. The element performance is assessed by comparison with numerical examples known from literature. Validity limits of Kirchhoff plate theory is tested by dynamic analysis. Shear locking effects are tested as far as $h/2a=10^{-6}$ and it is observed that REC32 is free from shear locking.
