A Korean Road Roughness Classification(KRC) method is proposed. Using a dynamic road profiling device equipped with the Accelerometer Established Inertial Profiling Reference(AEIPR) method, road profile measurement is performed on various types of public paved roads in Korea. The road profiling data are processed to classify the characteristics of Korean road roughness. The resultant Korean road roughness classification(KRC) is shown different characteristics compared to the road classification proposed by ISO, MIRA, and Wong. The proposed KRC is composed of 8 classes(A-H, very good-poor) based on the power spectral density and is in good agreements with the characteristics of Korean paved road roughness and can be used well in vehicle ride comfort simulation using domestic road profile.
Multi-temporal approaches using sequential data acquired over multiple years are essential for satisfactory discrimination between many land-cover classes whose signatures exhibit seasonal trends. At any particular time, the response of several classes may be indistinguishable. A harmonic model that can represent seasonal variability is characterized by four components: mean level, frequency, phase and amplitude. The trigonometric components of the harmonic function inherently contain temporal information about changes in land-cover characteristics. Using the estimates which are obtained from sequential images through spectral analysis, seasonal periodicity can be incorporates into multi-temporal classification. The Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI) was computed for one week composites of the Advanced Very High Resolution Radiometer (AVHRR) imagery over the Korean peninsula for 1996 ~ 2000 using a dynamic technique. Land-cover types were then classified both with the estimated harmonic components using an unsupervised classification approach based on a hierarchical clustering algorithm. The results of the classification using the harmonic components show that the new approach is potentially very effective for identifying land-cover types by the analysis of its multi-temporal behavior.

This paper provides a comprehensive overview of UAV classification, tracking, and detection, offering researchers a clear understanding of these fundamental concepts. It elucidates how classification categorizes UAVs based on attributes, how tracking monitors real-time positions, and how detection identifies UAV presence. The interconnectedness of these aspects is highlighted, with detection enhancing tracking and classification aiding in anomaly identification. Moreover, the paper emphasizes the relevance of simulations in the context of drones and UAVs, underscoring their pivotal role in training, testing, and research. By succinctly presenting these core concepts and their practical implications, the paper equips researchers with a solid foundation to comprehend and explore the complexities of UAV operations and the role of simulations in advancing this dynamic field.

The methodology of classifying traffics is changing from payload based or port based to machine learning based in order to overcome the dynamic changes of application's characteristics. However, current state of traffic classification using machine learning (ML) algorithms is ongoing under the offline environment. Specifically, most of the current works provide results of traffic classification using cross validation as a test method. Also, they show classification results based on traffic flows. However, these traffic classification results are not useful for practical environments of the network traffic monitoring. This paper compares the classification results using cross validation with those of using split validation as the test method. Also, this paper compares the classification results based on flow to those based on bytes. We classify network traffics by using various feature sets and machine learning algorithms such as J48, REPTree, RBFNetwork, Multilayer perceptron, BayesNet, and NaiveBayes. In this paper, we find the best feature sets and the best ML algorithm for classifying traffics using the split validation.
This study explores the limitation in making a causal model through an existing case and proposes an alternative plan to improve a theoretical system of causation modeling. To make a dynamic and actual model, several principles are needed such as reality based analysis of system structures and dynamics, consistent expression of causations, conversion of numerical formulas to causal relations, classification and arrangement of variables by size of concept, etc. However, it is hard to find cases to apply these considerations from existing models in System Dynamics. Therefore, this study verifies errors of derived models from literatures and proposes principles and guides that should be considered to make a sound dynamic model on a causal map. It contributes to making an opportunity for exciting public opinion to improve theory about causal maps, yet it has limitation that the study does not advance forward to the experimental step. For future study, it plans to make up by classifying and leveling causal variables, developing a dynamic BSC model.
Hysteretic behavior model of soft magnetic material usually used in electrical machines and electronic devices is necessary for numerical solution of Maxwell equation. In this study, a new dynamic hysteresis model is presented, based on the nonlinear dynamic system identification from measured data capabilities of fuzzy clustering algorithm. The developed model is based on a Gustafson-Kessel (GK) fuzzy approach used on a normalized gathered data from measured dynamic cycles on a C core transformer made of 0.33mm laminations of cold rolled SiFe. The number of fuzzy rules is optimized by some cluster validity measures like 'partition coefficient' and 'classification entropy'. The clustering results from the GK approach show that it is not only very accurate but also provides its effectiveness and potential for dynamic magnetic hysteresis modeling.

In the companion papers (I, II), site-specific response analyses were performed at more than 300 domestic sites and a new site classification system and design response spectra (DRS) were proposed using the results of the site-specific response analyses. In this paper, the proposed site classification system and the design response spectra are compared with those in other seismic codes and verified by different methods. Firstly, the design response spectra are compared with the design response spectra in Eurocode 8, KBC 2016 and MOCT 1997 to estimate quantitative differences and general trends. Secondly, site-specific response analyses are carried out using $V_S$-profiles obtained using field seismic tests and the results are compared with the proposed DRS in order to reduce the uncertainty in using the SPT-N value in site-specific response analyses in the companion paper (I). In addition, site coefficients from real earthquake records measured in Korean peninsula are used to compare with the proposed site coefficients. Finally, dynamic centrifuge tests are also performed to simulate the representative Korean site conditions, such as shallow depth to bedrock and short-period amplification characteristics. The overall results showed that the proposed site classification system and design response spectra reasonably represented the site amplification characteristic of shallow bedrock condition in Korea.
This paper proposes a Convolutional Recurrent Neural Net (CRNN) structure that can simultaneously reflect both static and dynamic characteristics of seismic waveforms for various earthquake events classification. Addressing various earthquake events, including not only micro-earthquakes and artificial-earthquakes but also macro-earthquakes, requires both effective feature extraction and a classifier that can discriminate seismic waveform under noisy environment. First, we extract the static characteristics of seismic waveform through an attention-based convolution layer. Then, the extracted feature-map is sequentially injected as input to a multi-input single-output Long Short-Term Memory (LSTM) network structure to extract the dynamic characteristic for various seismic event classifications. Subsequently, we perform earthquake events classification through two fully connected layers and softmax function. Representative experimental results using domestic and foreign earthquake database show that the proposed model provides an effective structure for various earthquake events classification.
Although the self organizing map (SOM) is widely utilized in such fields of data visualization and topology preserving mapping, since it should have the topology fixed before trained, it has some shortcomings that it is difficult to apply it to practical problems, and classification capability is quite low despite better clustering performance. To overcome these points this paper proposes the dynamic topology preserving self-organizing map(DTSOM) that dynamically splits the output nodes on the map and trains them, and attempts to improve the classification capability by combining multiple DTSOMs K-Winner method has been applied to combine DTSOMs which produces K outputs with winner node selection method. This produces even better performance than the conventional combining methods such as majority voting weighting, BKS Bayesian, Borda, Condorect and reliability sum. DTSOM remedies the shortcoming of determining the topology in advance, and the classification rate increases significantly by combing multiple maps trained with different features. Experimental results with handwritten digit recognition indicate that the proposed method works out to problems of conventional SOM effectively so to improve the classification rate to 98.1%.

Echocardiography, an ultrasound scan of the heart, is regarded as the primary physiological test for heart disease diagnoses. How an echocardiogram is interpreted also relies intensively on the determination of the view. Some of such views are identified as standard views because of the presentation and ease of the evaluations of the major cardiac structures of them. However, finding valid cardiac views has traditionally been time-consuming, and a laborious process because medical imaging is interpreted manually by the specialist. Therefore, this study aims to speed up the diagnosis process and reduce diagnostic error by providing an automated identification of standard cardiac views based on deep learning technology. More importantly, based on a brand-new echocardiogram dataset of the Asian race, our research considers and assesses some new neural network architectures driven by action recognition in video. Finally, the research concludes and verifies that these methods aggregating dynamic information will receive a stronger classification effect.
