  • The jointing of unsupported concrete on the parking lot floor is a process for cracking and stress relief due to concrete drying shrinkage and restraint, but curling occurs due to long-term drying shrinkage after the initial age. will be lowered Therefore, by using an expansion material and a shrinkage reducing agent, the dry shrinkage of concrete is realized to 200 με or less.

  • Cement mortar and concrete can be used as grouts but problems regarding shrinkage and the discord of coefficients of thermal expansion between grouts and HDPE pipes has to be solved. Thermal conductivities of wet condition two times larger than those of dry condition, except for pure cement mortar. The addition of sand into the cement grouts greatly increases the thermal conductivity. The addition of bentonite into the cement grouts reduces thermal conductivity thus reducing the density. Bentonite grouting must be used only below the groundwater table since bentonite grouts possesses high shrinkage property in dry condition. The addition of sand prevents the shrinkage of bentonite grouts. Bentonite manufactured in Korea can be used since they possess similar thermal conductivities with imported products. The addition of sand into the bentonite grouts greatly increases the thermal conductivity.

  • The purpose of this study was to help the consumer about the care of nonwoven fabrics by investigation of the properties such as launderability. shrinkage, color fastness and strenth. Materials used were two types, soft and stiff, of commercial nonwoven fabrics. Deter-gents used were neutral detergents, synthetic detergents and dry cleaning solutions(perch-toro-ethylene) The results of this study were summerized as follows; 1. Laundering of nonwoven fabrics in low temperature is more ideal as morphological changes by laundering in high temperature were more prominent than that in low temperature. 2. Ironing of nonwoven fabrics wants more attention on environmental temperature as the rate of shrinkage in high temperature was higher than that in low temperature. Neutral detergents are more desirable as the rate of shrinkage of nonwoven fabrics by laundering with synthetic detergents was more prominent than that with neutral deter-gents. The rate of shringkage of nonwoven fabrics was not affected by dry cleanining. 3. Special care is wanted in order to prevent color transfer from non woven fabrics to polyester or wool during dry cleaning or laundering as the color fastness test show that color changes of nonwoven fabrics were not affected, but that color stain was increased on polyester or wool. 4. The strength was affected by composition of fibers and types of nonwoven fabrics, soft or stiff.

  • Prepackaged system consists out of a dry mix which contains cement, sand, redispersible polymer powder and admixtures in the right proportions. The purpose of this study is to evaluate the quality of prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products using redispersible poly(ethylene-vinyl acetate)(EVA) powder. Polymer-modified mortars using the redispersible polymer powder with powdered with powdered shrinkage-reducing agent were prepared with cellulose fiber contents of 0, 0.5, 1.0% and shrinkage-reducing agent contents of 0, 4%, and tested for drying shrinkage, strength, adhesion in tension, water absorption. From the test results, the prepackaged-type polymer-modified mortar products with 4% of shrinkage-reducing agent content give good properties. and that their properties largely depends on the shrinkage-reducing agent content rather than the cellulose fiber contents.

  • This study surveys relation between thermal shrinkage and thermal stress properties after process simulation of heat treatment with various PET filament yarns. For this purpose, 12 kinds of regular yarns and POY, 6 kinds of DTY and 5 kinds of composite yarns were experimented for investigating step thermal shrinkage, total thermal shrinkage and total thermal stress and maximum thermal stress temperature. Thermal stress and shrinkage of the various specimens treated with wet and dry heats were analysed and discussed with the conditions of heat treatment. finally, relationship between thermal stress and shrinkage of the various PET filaments such as regular yarns, POY, DTY and composite yarns were investigated with the PET filament characteristics.

  • In ultra-high-strength concrete, autogenous shrinkage is larger than dry shrinkage due to the consume of a large amount of cement and cementitous material, and this is a factor deteriorating the quality of structures. Thus, we need a new technology for minimizing the shrinkage strain for ultra-high-strength concrete. So, this paper have prepared super-high-strength concrete with specified mixing design strength of over 150MPa and have evaluated a method of reducing autogenous shrinkage by utilizing expander and shrinkage-reducing agent. According to the results of this study, with regard to the change in length by autogenous shrinkage, an expansion effect was observed until the age of seven days. The expansion effect was higher when the contents of the expander material were higher. In addition, ultra-high-strength concrete showed a shrinkage rate that slowed down with time, and the effect of the addition of expander material on compressive strength was insignificant. That is shown that required more database to be accumulated through experimental research for the shrinkage strain of members.

  • The present review has mainly focused on the specific parameters including aging (aging days, temperature, relative humidity, and air flow), eating quality (flavor, tenderness and juiciness), microbiological quality and economic (shrinkage, retail yields and cost) involved beef dry aging process. Dry aging is the process where beef carcasses or primal cuts are hanged and aged for 28 to 55 d under controlling environment conditions in a refrigerated room with $0^{\circ}$ to $4^{\circ}C$ and with relative humidity of 75 to 80 %. However there are various opinions on dry aging procedures and purveyors of such products are passionate about their programs. Recently, there has been an increased interest in dry aging process by a wider array of purveyors and retailers in the many countries. Dry aging process is very costly because of high aging shrinkage (6 to 15 %), trims loss (3 to 24 %), risk of contamination and the requirement of highest grades meat with. The packaging in highly moisture-permeable bag may positively impact on safety, quality and shelf stability of dry aged beef. The key effect of dry aging is the concentration of the flavor that can only be described as "dry-aged beef". But the contribution of flavor compounds of proteolysis and lipolysis to the cooked dry aged beef flavor is not fully known. Also there are limited scientific studies of aging parameters on the quality and palatability of dry aged beef.

  • This research was performed to evaluate the longitudinal length change ratio of concrete used the expansive admixture. As the results of this study, the compressive strength was shown the highest value at the used 10% expansive admixture both of the dry and wet curing condition. And the length change ration was shown higher 0.0316% and 0.0529 % than that of control in wet and dry curing condition. But this value was not enough to recover the shrinkage occuring by dry shrinkage. According to this study , we have obtained 10% on normal portland cement concrete as the optimum replacement ration of expansive admixture.
