  • Recently, Kiosks, a wireless ordering system, has been introduced as the system where employees and customers order in person has disappeared in most stores. However, Drive-Thru, which is serviced in stores, still has a system where employees and customers communicate directly to order. In this paper, we propose the design of a Drive-Thru system in which customers order direct communication between Drive-Thru's employees and customers without facing them using QR-Code. The non-face-to-face Drive-Thru system aims to provide a more automated system by minimizing employees in the store. As a result, customers receive more accurate services and have the effect of improving the quality of consumption.

  • The purpose of this paper is to analyze the case of 'drive-thru' services newly introduced and tried in libraries in Korea under the influence of COVID-19, and to develop and propose a service model so that this service can be continuously applied to all libraries in the future. Therefore, the method of study was selected and analyzed by selecting one of the representative libraries that provide related services in Seoul Special City, Incheon Metropolitan City, and Anyang City of Gyeonggi Province. In addition, a focus group interview was conducted with twelve people in charge to find a way to apply the drive-thru service to the library. As a result, the library's drive-thru service is a way to fulfill the library's original purpose of providing information materials while minimizing faceto-face contact with users. It was concluded that it is a suitable method for a library of complex buildings, where there is a lack of parking space. In addition, it was deduced that it may be one of the ways to use the library efficiently for office workers who are unable to use library services during the opening hours. Therefore, if the drive-thru service is implemented according to the developed model, it is expected to increase the library visit rate and data utilization rate.

  • Active and prompt scale-up screening tests are essential to efficiently control the coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) outbreak. The goal of this work was to identify shortcomings in the conventional screening system (CSS) implemented in the beginning of the outbreak. To overcome these shortcomings, we then introduced a novel, independently developed system called the Yeungnam University type drive-through (YU-Thru), and distributed it nationwide in Korea. This system is similar to the drive-throughs utilized by fast food restaurants. YU-Thru system has shortened the time taken to test a single person to 2-4 minutes, by completely eliminating the time required to clean and ventilate the specimen collection room. This time requirement was a major drawback of the CSS. YU-Thru system also reduced the risk of subjects and medical staff infecting one another by using a separate and closed examination system. On average, 50 to 60 tests were conducted per day when using the CSS, while now up to 350 tests per day are conducted with the YU-Thru system. We believe that the YU-Thru system has made an important contribution to the rapid detection of COVID-19 in Daegu, South Korea. Here, we will describe the YU-Thru system in detail so that other countries experiencing COVID-19 outbreaks can take advantage of this system.

  • Excessive complaints and traffic jams occurred as customers who visited the Drive-thru waited in a long line. Company S recommends DT Pass to reduce the queues. Therefore, this study confirmed the improvement in performance of the queue increasing the number of stores operated by two servers insteaol of one using a queue model. And then confirmed performance improvement by dividing them into DT and DT Pass. After that, the L value derived through the queue model and the number of queues in each store were compared to calculate the number of queues to be additionally provided. Through this, the validity of selecting the minimum number of queues in the future is verified based on the results derived in this study.

  • With the advent of the post-COVID19 era, people must maintain social distancing to quarantine. However, this rule deprives people of freedom. Therefore, this study proposes a new normal plan for urban park design using drive-thru to recreate space for people to maintain and enjoy their previous lives while complying with quarantine rules. Olympic Park has a large floating population, and is one of the places where drive-thru is available. Therefore, the study designed this place to be the only cafe that could be operated if other cafes were shut down due to social distancing. The cafes in the park were designed into five spaces based on Olympic Park's flag motifs. The results were as follows. The cafe's name is CUPPY (Cup+Coffee), while each logo letter is expressed using the colors of the Olympic flag: blue, yellow, black, green, and red. The cafe spaces were divided into five continents (Europe, Asia, Africa, Oceania, and America), as symbolized by the Olympic flag, with the driving route shaped like the Olympic logo to match the five spaces. Human beings need change and adaptation in various fields to live in a post-COVID19 era that they have never experienced before. Just as the New Normal changes with time, and should, research is essential for presenting a New Normal in urban park design that reflects this disaster situation following the COVID-19 crisis. On this very point, we expect that this research will serve as a reference for urban park design. Additionally, it is believed that continuous suggestions and research will be necessary to apply the model to more diverse environments.

  • This study is a subjective study on consumer's perception of drive-through as part of one method of service business to drive the drive-through service to understand how the user's perspective is more effective than the company's management position. In order to analyze the consumer's subjective viewpoint on the use of through companies, an exploratory study was conducted by selecting the Q-methodology. To this end, the analysis work was conducted in a way that the respondents classified the statement cards, and the Q population was selected and composed. Through this, the P-sample was selected and the Q-sort obtained through the classification process was used for the PC QUANL program. Was analyzed through Q factor analysis. customers divide into 3 types. Firstly, type 1 (N=14) is the people who pursue the convenience on value for time. Secondly, type 2 customers (N=4) prefer efficiency on value for time. finally, type 3 ones (N=2) put a great value on quickness. Each subjective opinion detected through this analysis will be the basis for various studies in the future, and may be used as a reference in the future direction of establishing drive-through marketing and improving the lacking parts.

  • Kiosks are widely used in drive-thru systems in parking lots or on the highway to provide various services to drivers. However, the driver must stop at an exact location to access the kiosk, since its panel is fixed. In order to improve the kiosk accessibility, in this study we developed a manipulator that can adjust the position of the kiosk panel. The number of active joints was minimized to lower the cost, whereas a parallelogram mechanism and passive joints were adopted to increase its convenience for the users. Furthermore, a safety mechanism using springs and a cam was designed to ensure the safety of the user in the case of an emergency. The performance of the position controller and the safety mechanism were verified through various tests. In addition, the proposed collision reaction strategy improved the safety performance of the kiosk system.

  • This study aims to investigate hypotheses for the effects of CEO's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and employee's organizational committment of 50 Korea venture firms registered in Korea Venture Business Associations. To understand the importance of followers' characteristics in recent leadership studies on venture CEOs, it is proposed that self-sacrificial leadership behaviors will positively effect on organizational commitment. And it is also proposed that the follower's need for achievement(N-Arch) moderates in the relationship of self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and organizational commitment. After descriptive survey, research model setup, and field survey, this empirical study investigated the above mentioned hypotheses thru SPSS for Windows 12.0. It involved linear regression analysis to reveal the significant main effect of the self-sacrificial leadership behaviors. It also revealed moderating regression analysis to reveal the significant moderating effects of need for achievement between the independent variables(self-sacrificial leadership behaviors) and dependent variable(the organizational commitment). Results revealed that CEO's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors positively affected to its employee's organizational commitment under change-oriented and innovative new technology drive, self-developing environments of venture business in Korea. However, positive moderating effect of N-Arch was not supported between leader's self-sacrificial leadership behaviors and follower's organizational commitment in Korea venture firms.
