Objectives: This study firstly examined the pattern and prevalence of drinking. Secondly, we examined the sociodemographic and health factors associated with binge drinking and problem drinking among Korean men and women. Methods: Secondary analysis of the 2005 Korea National Health and Nutrition Examination Survey was conducted for 6,613 respondents aged 19 to 64. Results: Prevalence for binge drinking was 59.7% of men and 15.2% of women. Overall, 45.0% of men and 7.1% of women reported problem drinking. For both men and women, being divorced/separated/widowed was associated with binge drinking (OR=1.51 for men, OR=1.91 for women) and problem drinking (OR=1.43 for men, OR=2.12 for women), and smoking was associated with binge drinking (OR=3.20 for men, OR=3.96 for women) and problem drinking (OR=2.39 for men, OR=4.93 for women). Among women, unmarried and less educated increased the risk of binge drinking and problem drinking but being single and education level were not associated with binge drinking and problem drinking in men. Conclusion: There might be sex difference in the relationships between sociodemographic, and health factors and binge drinking, and problem drinking. Our finding suggest that the need to develop appropriate binge drinking prevention and intervention strategies for sex specified groups at greater risk.
This study conducted multiple logistic regression to investigate what factors and how much they influence problem drinking. In this study, problem drinking was defined by AUDIT and NAST. Most of the studies on problem drinking focused on socio-demographic factors even though problem drinking is caused by bio-psycho- socio-cultural factors. The current study tried to estimate a logistric regression models including socio-demographic, environmental, psychological, economical, emotional, values, and MMPI factors. The best fit model suggested that problem drinking, which was determined by AUDIT, of college students were related to sociodemographic, environmental, psychological, and emotional factors. Students who were male, whose father, brother or sister had been abused alcohol or drug, students thought that his/her mother had not trusted him/her, who worried about his/her health, smokers, who had strong impulsivity, who had three or more feelings among the sorts of feelings, such as sadness, loneliness, boring making him/her feel to drink alcohol were more likely to had drinking problem. Students who were indulgers-who could not help buying things immediately after they saw goods they like, who were smokers, who had low ego-control, who had three or more feelings among the sorts of feelings, such as become excited, anxiousness, healthy were more likely to be dependent on alcohol. The study suggested intervention programs for college students to prevent problem alcohol drinking and alcohol dependency.

Methods: Data were collected by questionnaire and analyzed by using the SPSS WIN 18.0 and Multiple Linear Regression Analysis. Results: In factors of the monthly drinking frequency, start drinking(middle school), smoking, pocket money, education level of mother were statistically profitable(p<.05). In factors of the monthly drinking too much frequency, gender, education level of mother, start drinking(high school), economical level were statistically profitable(p<.05). In factors of subjective model of drinking, discord with parents, education level of mother, age were statistically profitable(p<0.05). Conclusion: Teacher and the authorities of school and government must know seriousness and importance of drinking and endeavor to solve the problem and prepare the political plan and solution.
This study examined drinking status, knowledge regarding drinking, and drinking behaviors between non-risky drinking and risky drinking groups and found out the factors determining risky drinking. Data were collected from 355 college students in Gyeongbuk region by a self-administered questionnaire. T tests, ${\chi}^2$ tests and logistic regression analysis were conducted by SPSS Windows V.20.0. Almost 30% of the respondents were categorized as the risky drinking group. The respondents in the risky drinking group showed greater drinking frequency per month, subjective drinking quantity, frequency of resolution not to drinking per month, and drinking expenditure than the non-risky drinking group. There was no statistically significant difference in the percentage of correct answers for knowledge regarding drinking between non-risky drinking group and risky drinking group. However, the respondents in the risky drinking group showed more undesirable drinking behaviors than the non-risky drinking group. Finally, according to the result of logistic regression analysis of the factors determining risky drinking, monthly allowance, major, circle activity status, drinking frequency per month, drinking motive and drinking behaviors were significant.
The purpose of this study is a chronic liver disease that affects the drinking behavior is to identify the factors. The subjects of the study was diagnosed with chronic liver disease outpatient visit were studied in 120 patients. The collected data were analyzed by using SPSS WIN 18.0. Drinking behavior of chronic liver disease to determine the factors influencing the results of the multiple regression analysis, the regression model was found to be significant(F=8.58, p<.001), drinking behavior of chronic liver disease a major contributor to the drinking habits(${\beta}$ = -.29, p = .004)was found in, followed by drinking motives(${\beta}$ = .20, p = .044), drinking refusal self-efficacy(${\beta}$ = -.17, p = .037), after which the diagnosis of the disease(${\beta}$ = .15, p = .041), respectively. These variables showed explanatory power of 44.1%. Drinking behavior is a serious health problem in patients with chronic liver disease. The factors that influence drinking behavior by considering the management of chronic liver disease drinking continued to provide information and education is needed abstinence.

Methods: A total of 191 employees recruited from two worksites. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, t-test, ANOVA, and Pearson's correlation coefficient, and multiple regression. Results: A 65.5% of employees has shown as hazardous drinking. Employees' problem drinking was significantly influenced by coping motives as a sub-factors of drinking motives (${\beta}$=.25) and social pressure as a sub-factors of drinking refusal self-efficacy(${\beta}$=-.57), explained 51.2% of the total variance. Methods: There were 620 subjects who were first and second graders of seven high schools in Daegu. This study used Sinhaengwoo (1998)'s drinking behavior scale, Rowlison and Felner (1988)'s stress scale, Kovacs (1981)'s children's depression inventory, Rosenberg (1965)'s self-esteem scale. The data were analyzed by descriptive statistics, Pearson's correlation coefficient, and stepwise multiple regression using SPSS/win 18.0 program. This study was approved by the Institutional Review Boards (IRB) of the Keimyung university hospital(No. 12-112). Results: The mean score for drinking behavior in high school students was 23.1points.
