항만준설토사 유효활용을 위한 오염도 평가 (Assessment of Contamination of Harbor Dredged Materials for Beneficial Use)

  • 본 논문에서 매년 항만개발 및 항로유지의 목적으로 발생하는 준설토사의 유효활용을 위하여 주요 항만 준설토사에 대하여 오염현황을 조사 및 분석하였다. 그리고 준설물질별 인간의 건강에 대한 피해확률을 과학적으로 추정하는 위해성 평가를 실시하여 공업 및 주거지역에서 직접 인체에 대하여 안전하고 유효하게 활용할 수 있는 기준을 제시하였다. 제시한 기준은 기존의 준설토사 처리.활용기준 및 토양환경보전법상의 환경기준보다 엄격한 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 유효활용에 대한 사전평가를 실시할 수 있는 관련 기준을 근거로 국내 주요항만의 발생준설토사에 대한 오염도를 평가한 결과, 일부 항만에서 카드뮴(Cd), 비소(As), 크롬(Cr) 및 아연(Zn)이 환경기준을 초과하는 것으로 나타나 정밀한 조사가 이루어져야 할 것으로 나타났지만 대부분 항만에서 발생한 준설토사는 유효활용이 가능한 것으로 나타났다.

  • Consolidation settlements on marine dredged clays are often greatly and potentially damaging to structures. Currently, large-scale projects are in planning or progressing in Korea. These projects has been performed on thick and soft clay layers. So, the evaluation of long-term consolidation settlement is very important in design and construction. Therefore, In this study, a long-term consolidation characteristics of marine dredged clays are investigated. First, the relationship of $C_{\alpha}/C_c$ on marine dredged clays near Gwang-yang Port was evaluated. Second, long-term consolidation characteristics of the pseudo-preconsolidated ground were evaluated.

  • Sandy soils are generally used as a capping material to reduce the pollutants transport from the contaminated dredged sediment. However, dredged material capping is not widely used because regulatory agencies are concerned about the potential for contaminants migration through the cap. Movement of contaminated pore water from sediment into cap is mainly related to sediment consolidation during and after cap placement. To evaluate the significance of consolidation induced transport of contaminants from sediment into cap, research centrifuge tests were conducted. Centrifuge test results illustrate that advection and dispersion are the dominant contaminants transport processes and that capping reduces the potential of contaminant migration from the dredged sediment effectively.

하수준설토의 체적변화에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Volumetric Change of Sewage Dredged Soils)

  • This paper describes on the volume change of Sewage Dredged Soils by using laboratory test and volumetric change test. The tremendous change of Moisture Content occured in the Sewage Dredged Soils during the Elapsed Time. The Unit Weight increases during the normally shrinkage limit void ratio and then the unit weight decrease. A volume of Sewage Dredged Soils according to the moisture content is a difference maximum 2.5 times. And there is the difference 3.5 times according to the change of unit weight. Therefore, the moisture content and unit weight computation are very important for the computation on the volume of Sewage Drdeged Soils.

  • Recently , the hydraulic fill method is commonly used in many reclamation projects due to lack of fill materialss. The method of hydraulic fill i recalmation is executed by transporting the mixture of water -soil particles into a relcaimed land through dredging pipes, then the dredged soil particels settle down in thewater orflow over an out flow weir with the water. The amount of the volume reductions of dredged soil is considered the sum of the overall settlement by descication shrinkage and self-weigth consolidation and the loss of soil particles flow over a weir. In the present study, hydrometer analysis was performed with the soil samples obtained bofore and after dredging to estimate the amount of soil particles residual at reclaimed area and the loss of soil particles , then it was suggested the method of determining the loss ratio of dredged soils from the tests results. The hydrometer analysis of in-situ soil samples showed that the loss ratio of dredged soils is lowest at the nearest point to dredge pipe and highest at the nearest point of out flow weir.

  • The purpose of this paper os to present and discuss some of flow and drain observed in modelling results. Because dredged fill ground of Yul-Chon located in the south coast of Korea is very soft, this ground should be improved after operation of surface stabilization. There are surface stabilization method such as chemical stabilization, desiccation, horizontally vacuum drain, replacement, and geosynthetics. In Yul-Chon, PTM(Progressive Trenching Method) is adopted to provide the necessity condition of surface desiccation. In the case trench in the dredged soft ground is formed by PTM equipment, pore water in the ground is drained through trench. There, drain and desiccation of surface ground increase, and bearing capacity is improved. In this research, when trench in the dredged soft ground is formed by PTM equipment, permeable characteristics and drain efficiency of pore-water are analyzed using SEEP/W software package. Results show variation of total head, pressure head, flux, hydraulic gradient, and flow quantity.

준설토 활용과 환경기준 (Environmental Standards for Beneficial Uses of Dredged Materials)

  • Environmental standards for beneficial uses of dredged materials are proposed. Even though chemical analysis of ocean sediments are carried out frequently, their analyses results were not interrelated with the effects of biological lives due to a shortage of biological data. These facts have resulted in difficulty to develope Korean's standards of recycling dredged materials. This paper first searched existing current foreign standards, analyzed local contaminated ocean sediment data, identified their main chemical components of contaminants, and then compared with clean-up standards of sediments consisting of lower and higher levels. From these analysis, new environmental standards considering Korean domestic circumstances are proposed. It is judged that new standards are appropriate to both Korean national sedimental environments and economically recycling aspects because environmental standard levels proposed are higher than background levels of sediments in Korean and foreign standards.

준설오니의 토량 산출 및 성분분석 (Estimation of soil Quantity and Environmental Effect on Dredged Soil)

  • 유수지는 생활하수 및 정수 처리된 하수를 바다에 방류하기 전에 하수방류가 조수의 영향으로 역류하는 것을 막기 위해 설치된 일종의 하수 저류시설이다. 본 연구에서는 현장에서 준설한 시료에 대하여 실내시험을 실시하여 유수지 하상 오니가 포함하고 있는 실토사의 적정량을 산출하였다. 또한, 준설오니를 임시 저장한 슬러지 저장 연못에서 시료를 채취하여 실내시험을 실시하여 준설용적을 산출하였다. 본 연구결과, 준설오니의 비중은 2.17∼2.29로 일반적인 점토보다 상당히 낮은 값으로, Gypsum과 유사한 값을 나타내었다. 또한, 함수율은 300∼700%의 범위를 나타내었다. 준설토로부터 물을 제거함에 따른 유실용적은 전체용적의 78.2∼87.5%의 범위로, 준설오니의 실토사 적정토량은 12.5∼21.9%의 범위를 나타내었다. 유수지 준설오니와 고화처리시료에 대한 중금속함량(크롬, 아연, 구리, 카드뮴, 수은, 비소, 납)시험결과 국내 관계법령 중 가장 엄격한 해양오염방지법 기준에 모두 만족하는 결과를 나타내었다.

군산 인근해역 준설토를 활용한 식생발아 특성 연구 (A Study of Germination Characteristics of Dredged Soil Collected in Gunsan)

  • 본 연구에서는 군산 인근해역의 준설토를 식생이 가능한 녹생토로써 토목현장의 사면안정화 및 해양공간개발에 사용이 가능한 생태 환경형 재료를 만들고자 한다. 식생발아 특성을 분석하기 위해서 군산 인근해역의 준설토에 Bio 개량제(0%, 6%), AC(아미노산) 개량제(0%, 6%), 톱밥비료(0%, 6%), 산 흙(0%, 50%)으로 처리한 준설토 개량제 실내 실험을 수행하였다. 실험 결과, 군산 새만금 준설토의 경우 SM시료로 분류되었으며, 수목생장조건이 불량하여 개량제(톱밥비료, Bio 개량제 등)의 사용이 필요한 것으로 판단된다.

  • Vertical drains have been commonly used to increase the rate of the consolidation of dredged material. The installation of vertical drains additionally provides a radial flow path in the dredged foundation. The objective of this study develops a numerical model for 2-D axisymmetric non-linear finite strain consolidation considering self-weight consolidation to predict the effect of vertical drain in dredged foundation which is in process of self-weight consolidation. The non-linear relationship between the void ratio and effective stress and permeability during consolidation are taken into account in the numerical model. The results of the numerical analysis are compared with that of the self-weight consolidation test in which an artificial vertical drain is installed. In addition, the numerical model developed in this paper is the simplified analytical method proposed by Ahn et, al (2010). The comparisons show that the developed numerical model can properly simulate the consolidation of the dredged material with the vertical drains installed.
