반복하중하에서 다보결합부의 역학적 특성 (Mechanical Characteristics of Dowel Joints under Cyclic Loads)

  • Cyclic tests were performed with dowel joints which are being widely used for furniture manufacturing in Korea. In this study, effects of various factors-such as species of joint members, diameter and length of dowels, and space between dowels-on stiffness, strength and damping ratio of joints were evaluated and concluded as follows: 1. Under cyclic loads, failure of dowel joints were caused by bending failure of dowels. 2. Dowel joints were evaluated to be stiff but general load carrying capacities were relatively low. 3. Joint moduli and damping ratios of dowel joints decreased as diameter and length of dowels, and space between dowels increased. 4. In dowel joints, properties of dowel itself have greater effects on stiffness and strength of joints than properties of joint members.

Retention of fiber posts to the optimally and over-prepared dowel spaces

  • PURPOSE. To assess the retention of glass fiber post cemented with self-adhesive resin cement into optimum and over-prepared root canals following obturation in the presence of either eugenol (EB) or calcium hydroxide (CB)-based sealers. MATERIALS AND METHODS. Roots of extracted premolars were endodontically-treated in 5 groups (n = 10). Roots of Group 1 (control) were left with no obturation and then optimally prepared to receive endodontic dowels. Other root canals were obturated with gutta-percha in the presence of either eugenol-based (Groups 2 and 4) or calcium hydroxide-based (Groups 3 and 5) sealer. Dowel spaces were prepared with optimal diameter in Groups 2 and 3, one size larger in Groups 4 and 5. Standardized fiber posts were luted to the prepared spaces using self-adhesive resin cement and its retention was then tested on an universal testing machine. Both one-way ANOVA and Tukey's HSD comparisons (${\alpha}$=0.05) were used to identify the significance of inter-group retention differences. Scanning electron microscopy (SEM) of both optimally and over-prepared dowel spaces was also considered to figure the nature of their interior out. RESULTS. The post retention was significantly higher to the non-obturated, optimally-prepared dowel spaces of Group 1 compared to the obturated, optimally-prepared ones of Groups 2 and 3. For each dowel space diameter, root canals obturated using CB of Groups 3 and 5 showed significantly higher dowel retention compared to those obturated using EB of Groups 2 and 4. Post retention to the over-prepared dowel spaces of Groups 4 and 5 was significantly higher than that recorded for the optimally-prepared ones of Groups 1-3. SEM images revealed traces of endodontic sealer and gutta-percha on the walls of the optimally-prepared dowel spaces. CONCLUSION. Despite the adverse effect of endodontic sealers on the retention of fiber posts, the over-preparation of dowel spaces helps to improve the retention.

탄소판으로 보강된 기존 슬래브와 신규 슬래브 접합부의 횡방향 하중전달 능력 (Load Transfer Capacity for the Planar Joints between Existing Slab Retrofitted with Carbon Fiber Plate and New Slab)

  • 본 연구에서 내부 공간을 확장시키기 위한 평면확장형 공동주택 리모델링에 있어서 기존 슬래브와 신규 슬래브 접합부의 횡방향 하중 전달 성능을 평가하기 위한 실험을 수행하였다. 슬래브의 접합연결재로 후 매립 Dowel 철근을 사용하였다. 기존 슬래브는 철거 예정인 기존 아파트로부터 채취하였으며, 휨성능을 향상시키기 위하여 탄소판(CFRP)으로 보강하였다. 실험결과로부터 후 매립 Dowel 철근으로 접합된 접합부 실험체가 최종파괴 시까지 완전합성거동을 하는 것을 확인하였으며, 충분한 극한성능 및 사용성능을 확보하고 있음을 알 수 있었다.

  • In General, post-installed dowel bars are used as a shear connector to ensure the composite actions between new slabs and existing slabs in an apartment remodelling constructions expecially for enlarging the interior space outward the existing buildings. But, it has not been checked that the connection performance between existing and new slab is satisfactory not only for the structural safety condition but also the for serviceability and dwelling requirements. In this research, an experimental works were presented to evaluate the load transfer capacity for the planar joints between existing and new slab. The existing slabs were obtained from the existing apartment housing which will be demolished. Test results showed that the planar joints with post-installed dowel bars behaved in full composite modes until ultimate capacity of test specimens, so sufficient ultimate and serviceability performance are confirmed.

활절점으로 연결된 철근콘크리트 슬래브의 전단내력평가 (Evaluation of Shear Strength of Reinforced Concrete Slabs Connected by Hinged Joints)

  • Lately outmoded and functionally obsolete buildings are often remodelled and restored. When existing reinforced concrete(RC) apartments are remodelled, one of main reasons of the remodelling is to expand dwelling space. The experimental or theoretical research on plane expansion of RC apartments is quite scare. In this research, 9 RC slabs connected by hinged joints were tested. The test results indicated that the shear strength of the RC test slabs having various types of dowel bars was about twice that calculated by the ACI 318-02 code.

도로용 줄눈재의 내구성 평가 (Evaluation of Endurance for Roadway Sealant)

  • 콘크리트 도로에서 줄눈의 역할은 계절적 온도변화에 따라 콘크리트 슬래브의 수축과 팽창 시 적절한 공간을 확보하여 파손과 균열을 보호하는 역할을 하게 된다. 이때 줄눈 부위를 줄눈재로 채워 넣어 이물질이 침투하여 슬래브의 움직임을 방해하거나 파손시키는 것으로부터 보호하는 역할과 강우나 강설 등에 의한 수분이 포장 내부로 침투하여 동결융해에 의한 내부균열 방지 및 다웰바 등을 부식시키는 것을 막는 역할을 수행하여 도로의 공용성을 향상시키는 역할을 하게 된다. 본 연구에서는 콘크리트 도로 줄눈에서 시공된지 2년 경과한 시료를 채취하여 열화를 겪지 않은 초기시료와의 물리적 강도, 내후성, 제설제 저항성 등으로 평가하였으며 실리콘 소재 대비 내후성과 접착성에 큰 차이가 발생하는 것을 확인하였다.

철근콘크리트 보의 휨 및 전단파괴 예측의 3차원 유한요소 모델 (3-D Finite Element Model for Predicting Bending and Shear Failure of RC Beams)

  • 철근콘크리트 보의 휨 및 전단파괴 예측을 위한 철근콘크리트 부재의 3차원 유한요소모델을 개발하였다. 다축구속응력 하에서의 콘크리트의 연성거동을 보다 정확히 예측하기 위해 변형률 공간에서의 콘크리트 파괴기준을 제시하였다. 3축하에서의 콘크리트 균열거동을 위해 균열발생 후 인장연화거동, 골재맞물림 및 다우얼효과를 고려한 균열면 전단전달특성을 고려토록 하였다. 휨 및 전단 파괴 양상을 갖는 보 시험체와의 비교 연구를 통하여 본 유한요소 모델은 저보강보의 연성 휨 파괴 뿐만 아니라 전단보강되지 않은 철근콘크리트 보의 취성 전단 파괴 양상을 갖는 부재의 거동 예측에도 유효한 것으로 판단되었다.
