  • The relationship between the observable noise model and the satellite elevation angle can be modeled quite well by an exponential function.[Jin, 1996] Noise size and dependence on the elevation angle are, however, different for each observation and receiver type. Therefore, the coefficient determination of this model is an issue, and various methods including PR-CP, single difference, and time difference have been suggested. The limitations of them are difficulty to model the carrier phase noise and to eliminate bias. To overcome these disadvantages for using Jin's model, we suggest zero baseline double difference (DD) and noise sorting algorithm. Data DD technique in zero baseline is useful to eliminate all the troublesome GPS biases, and the remaining error is the sum of GPS measurement noises from two satellites. These DD residuals for hours should be sorted by the combination of satellite elevation angles, and then variance value of the residual for each combination can be estimated. Using these values, we construct an over-determined linear equation whose solution is a set of noise variance for each satellite elevation angle. With 24hr Trimble 4000ssi data, we easily worked out the coefficients of the noise model not only for pseudorange but also for carrier phase. We estimated the standard deviation of the measurement DD using our model, and plotted 1 and 3 sigma lines for every epoch to verify the representation of the residual error. 63.3% of pseudorange residual and 65.9% of phase error did not exceed the 1 sigma lines. Additionally, 99.2% and 99.5% of them lied within 3sigma line. These figures prove that the Gaussian property of measurement noise, and that the suggested model by our algorithm corresponds to the observable noise information.

  • Pompe disease (PD) is an autosomal recessive genetic disorder caused by a deficiency of the lysosomal enzyme acid α-glucosidase (GAA). It is easy to hastily diagnose as patients if they have two pathogenic variants. Clinical pathologists misdiagnosed our infant and her mother as PD. Here, we report a case of pseudodeficiency in a potential late-onset Pompe disease (LOPD) carrier with a double dual variant, each in cis formation in a 3-month infant. The person who has two pathogenic variants was diagnosed as a carrier, not a patient. It was first reported in Korea. The patient had: two likely pathogenic heterozygous mutations on exon #4: c.752C>T (p.Ser251Leu), c.761C>T (p.Ser254Leu), and a heterozygous mutation on exon #12: c.1726G>A (p.Gly576Ser), also with a heterozygous mutation on exon #15: c.2065G>A (p.Glu689Lys). By presenting this case we emphasize the possibility of cis formation of genes which may cause pseudodeficiency, and potential LOPD carrier form. Hereby we suggest that thorough evaluation of GAA gene is essential among whom initially diagnosed as PD.

  • This paper has analyzed the change of subthreshold swing for doping distribution function of asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET. The basic factors to determine the characteristics of DGMOSFET are dimensions of channel, i.e. channel length and channel thickness, and doping distribution function. The doping distributions are determined by ion implantation used for channel doping, and follow Gaussian distribution function. Gaussian function has been used as carrier distribution in solving the Poisson's equation. Since the Gaussian function is exactly not symmetric for top and bottome gates, the subthreshold swings are greatly changed for channel length and thickness, and the voltages of top and bottom gates for asymmetric double gate MOSFET. The deviation of subthreshold swings has been investigated for parameters of Gaussian distribution function such as projected range and standard projected deviation in this paper. As a result, we know the subthreshold swing is greatly changed for doping profiles and bias voltage.

  • Asymmetric double gate(DG) MOSFET is a novel transistor to be able to reduce the short channel effects. This paper has analyzed a off current for conduction path of asymmetric DGMOSFET. The conduction path is a average distance from top gate the movement of carrier in channel happens, and a factor to change for oxide thickness of asymmetric DGMOSFET to be able to fabricate differently top and bottom gate oxide thickness, and influenced on off current for top gate voltage. As the conduction path is obtained and off current is calculated for top gate voltage, it is analyzed how conduction path influences on off current with parameters of oxide thickness and channel length. The analytical potential distribution of series form is derived from Poisson's equation to obtain off current. As a result, off current is greatly changed for conduction path, and we know threshold voltage and subthreshold swing are changed for this reasons.

  • One of the small proteins from Helicobacter pylori, acyl carrier protein (ACP), was investigated by NMR. ACP is related to various cellular processes, especially with the biosynthesis of fatty acid. The basic NMR resonance assignment is a prerequisite for the validation of a heterologuous protein interaction with ACP in H.pylori. Here, the results of the backbone $^1H$, $^{15}N$, and $^{l3}C$ resonance assignments of the H. pylori ACP are reported using double- and triple-resonance techniques. About 97% of all of the $^1HN$, $^{15}N$, $^{13}CO$, $^{13}C{\alpha}$, and $^{13}C{\beta}$ resonances that cover 76 of the 78 non-proline residues are clarified through sequential- and specific-assignments. In addition, four helical regions were clearly identified on the basis of the resonance assignments.

  • The relationship between carrier electron concentration(n) and atmosphere oxygen partial pressure($P_{O_2}$ for pure ZnO calculated by the mass-action law, well-known as n ${\propto}P^{-1/m}_{O_2}$ where m = 4 or 6 for the single or the double ionization of the native donor defects due to its nonstoichiometry, respectively, is found in competition with the calculation result on the basis that the total defect concentration is the sum of those of unionized and ionized defects. Definitively, it is found inconsistent with the calculation result by employing the Fermi-Dirac(FD) statistics for their ionization processes. By application of the FD statistics law to the ionization while assuming the defect formation is still ruled by the mass-action law, the calculation results shows the concentration is proportional to $P^{-1/2}_{O_2}$ whenever they ionize singly and/or doubly. Conclusively we would like to propose the new theoretical relation n ${\propto}P^{-1/m}_{O_2}$ because the ionization processes of donors in ZnO should be treated with the electronoccupation probability at localized quantum states in its forbidden band created by the donor defects, i.e. the FD statistics

  • In order to improve real-time positioning accuracy, a number of methods have been tested and one of those is the inverted RTK(Real-time kinematic) that gives a precise positioning by handling carrier phase measurements. For the inverted RTK positioning, it needs the L1 phase measurement at least for 1~2 minutes and the additional reference stations/communication system and a data processing server are required. The L1 code and carrier phase measurements for real-time application are used simultaneously and then Kalman filter is applied to estimate integer ambiguities. Double differenced integer ambiguities are resolved by utilizing the FARA(Fast Ambiguity Resolution Approach). In this paper, we propose the method to improve the positioning accuracy and performed the field tests for several baselines from DAEJ reference station in KAO(Korea Astronomy Observatory).

  • In this paper, we analyze the code tracking biases of single and double early-minus-late processing schemes which are widely used code tracking method for global navigation satellite systems. The code tracking bias which results from the distortion in symmetry of correlation values is arisen in the presence of multipath signals. To analyze them, two civil signals which are spreading signals modulated by binary phase shift keying and binary offset carrier are considered.

  • In this paper, we have proposed and experimentally performed a polarization and phase control method of an optical signal which has same wavelength with the optical carrier to improve phase characteristics of a continuous wave(CW) generated by the double sideband-suppressed carrier(DSB-SC) as one of the famous photomixing technique for making sub-millimeter and terahertz waves. A polarization and phase controlled optical signal has been coupled with the general DSB-SC on an optical coupler. The output of the optical coupler is then photomixed by a photomixer. From our analysis and measurement results, we have found that the amplitude of the generated sub-mm and terahertz CW signal is higher 1.5 dB and the phase noise is lower about 3 dB@10 kHz offset frequency than the general DSBSC. Consequently, since our proposed method has improved the amplitude and phase noise of CW signals in the sub-mm and terahertz bands, it can be helpful results to make low cost CW generator in sub-millimeter and subterahertz bands.

  • A precision orbit determination (POD) system of low Earth orbiter using the GPS dual frequency measurements has been developed. It is an option of KOMPSAT-2 POD process system. In this research, the orbit determination using the real dual frequency carrier phase measurements of the SAC-C satellite was conducted to verify KOMPSAT-2 POD system reliability. The SAC-C satellite is an international cooperative mission between NASA, the Argentine Commission on Space Activities (CONAE), Centre National d'Etudes Spatiales (CNES or the French Space Agency), Instituto Nacional De Pesquisas Espaciais (Brazilian Space Agency), Danish Space Research Institute, and Agenzia Spaziale Italiana (Italian Space Agency). The SAC-C was launched at November 21, 2000. The altitude of SAC-C is 702 km and it carries a TurboRogue III GPS and four high gain antennas developed by the JPL. The receiver is able to generate the dual frequency code and carrier phase data. Double-differenced carrier phase measurements were formed using 25 IGS stations. The data were sampled at 30 seconds interval. Fully dynamic approach was adopted for POD. The POD results were compared with those of JPL using GOA n software. The comparison verifies that deci-meter level 3D position accuracy of low Earth orbiting satellite could be achieved. The POD system has been developed successfully.
