The Problems and Improvements of Process to Predict Fire Risk of a Building in Performance Based Design (성능위주설계에서 화재위험성 예측 과정의 문제점 및 개선방안)

  • Performance based design(PBD) is the method to make a fire safety design against them after predicting the factors of fire risk in a building. Therefore, predicting fire risk in a building is very important process in PBD. For predicting fire risk of a building, an engineer of PBD must consider various factors such as ignition location, ignition point, ignition source, first ignited item, second ignited item, flash over, the state of door and fire suppression system. But, it is difficult to trust fire safety capacity of the design because the process in Korea' PBD is unprofessional and unreasonable. This paper had surveyed some cases of PBD that had been made in Korea to find the problems of the process to predict fire risk. And it have proposed the improvements of process to predict fire risk of a building.

  • The high speed rolling stock system considerably belongs to a special industry which requires large-scale investment cost but the recovery term is long. Therefore, to guarantee risk and possibility of technological success in initial investment, tools concerned with various expecting methods like life cycle costs analysis and credibility management are used. In view of this characteristics, the cases on cost structure for HSR RS previously invested should be studied and the method to appropriately allocate the life cycle of each sub-system like arrangement unit, electric device, braking device, door and car body should be realized. Moreover, the environmental aspects of main manufacturer and parts supplier can be checked. This study, through the case study for HSR cost structure in introduction and operational stage of KTX, aims to seek for the method to adapt to environmental changes like EU railway industry of which object is to acquire global market competitiveness by integrating manufacturing and operation of RS and the regulation and operation of IRIS which is performed in Europe.

  • The China has opened the distribution market completely since it joined the World Trade Organization on Dec 11 2001. The notable features of Chinese distribution market are the transition from the consumers' monolithic demand to diversification for the luxury goods, well-being products. The regional characteristics of consumers are smart, conservative, optimistic and advanced. and the open door policy has prompted the capitalistic economy gradually. We analyzed the Chinese distribution markets and came up with the following strategies. First, we recommend the setting of the key regional market not covering the whole chinese markets. then we can extend the main market step by step. Second, we need to cooperate and advance with the Korean distribution companies which entered into markets already. Third, we need to acquire the competitive and stable distribution channel in China. Fourth, we need to implement the localization strategy in terms of human resources and procurement. Fifth, the consignment management can be another strategy. I hope this research can be a little help to those who wish to expand to the Chinese markets.

  • Embedded system is used a lot in electric home appliances and home network equipment. However, this system is designed to operate by the system operator directly at home and operator could find out them only when he pays attention to the system in case event happens. In this paper, to improve above things, it designed to remote-control system anywhere in which internet access is possible as well as at home, and also it designed SMS(short message service) information transmission system to inform the errors to the operator when they happen. To design the system, development board(be included the Strong Arm), CDMA module, and electric door lock are used as hardware, and web browser, CGI(common gateway interface) programming, and C-language are used for implementation of software in embedded-linux platform.

  • This paper describes the methodology for environmental assessments of traffic noise sources. An attempt is made to establish evaluation scale relationships between noise quality Parameters and subjective degrees annoyance. Subjective experimental was conducted to determine the subjective degrees annoyance that scaling score compare with reference and varieties noise source about modified traffic noises with $40{\sim}85dB$. Also a correlation analysis between noise rating index and satisfactory percentage of the noise dose response curves varied with response was conducted. As a result of study, subjective annoyance degree has not correlation of proportional linearity to the A weight noise level, but has correlation of proportional linearity to the index composed to loudness and tonality. It is suggested to be resonable level 4.9 (equivalence about 53dB) index on the out door noise limits for traffic noise and to be 6 step scale base on the linearity for evaluation traffic noise.

  • After 1th line was built in 1974, the history of subway in Korea has been expended to 9th line which is under construction. It is time to prepare nation wide subway grounding system urgently according to the domestic electric standard that aligns to world wide standard by WTO/TBT treat (1995). Newly added grounding system to the fundamentally different system caused many problems. PSD(platform screen door) and other newly added equipment are also need grounding system. By the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association), low voltage equipment(including grounding system) under 1,000V AC are in the process of change into IEC 60374. IEC 60364 standard will be added to the electrical code(established by Korea Electric Association) in 2007 and amended and after 3-5 years later, it will become a complete IEC 60364. So the purpose of this study is to compare the domestic rail road grounding system and suggest the standardized grounding system for the newly built subway.

  • Purpose : The purpose of this study is to propose that domestic rail must the work to be done in the RCM system and railway operators are to present a direction to establish the efficient and systematic system based on this. Methods : In recent years, domestic railway accidents has decreased year rapidly every year. In particular, suicidal ideation was greater than 50% of the accidents is showing a larger decrease in the influence of the screen-door construction. However, the train delay has been maintained without major changes since 2010. The most important cause of the delay operation is a vehicle breakdown. This fact demonstrates that effective maintenance of the most important activities in the railway accident prevention activities. So we have to build a RCM system in which the characteristics of the domestic railway accident. Conclusion : We proposed what is necessary functionality and the function requires a railway operators in RCM railway systeml.

On the Design of the Latch Mechanism for Wafer Containers in a SMIF Environment

  • This paper presents, the design of a latch mechanism for wafer containers in a standard mechanical interface environment. For an integrated circuits fabrication factory, the standard mechanical interfaced wafer container is an effective tool to prevent wafers from particle contamination during wafer storage, transporting or transferring. The latch mechanism inside the container door is used to latch and further seal the wafer container for safety and air quality. Kinematic characteristics of the mechanism are established by analyzing the required functions of the mechanisms. Based on these characteristics, a methodology for enumerating feasible latch mechanisms is developed. New mechanisms with one degree-of-freedom and up to five links are generated. An optimum design is also identified with respect to the criteria pertinent to the application. The computer-aided simulation is also built to verify the design.

  • ⇒ 초록(영문) 입력자 : This document defines JSR298 Telematics API for Java ME. The main purpose of JSR298 is to be able to provide automotive telematics services through use of this specification on embedded devices that are using Java ME platform. The goal is to standardize specification in order to provide automotive telematics services using embedded devices with Java ME as their base platform. This specification defines methods for controlling and obtaining diagnostic information and conditions on various components built in to the vehicle. Therefore, this document will provide specifications required for controlling various equipments built into the vehicles as well as obtaining diagnostic information on these components and vehicle conditions. Automotive components are defined as equipments that are accessible for drivers including airbag, door, window, and brake. This specification is applicable to telematics-specific automotive terminals as well as other various portable devices including cellular phones and PDAs.

  • Reading room in the university is one of necessary facilities that university student must use. It is, therefore, very important to make reading room comfortable acoustically not only to minimize the annoyance to the users but also to provide efficiency in studying. Present study aims to investigate the current situation of reading room in terms of acoustics and moreover to find out the relationship between the indoor noise and users' satisfaction through questionnaire survey. As a result, the indoor noise level is quite higher than the 1st grade, 35 dB(A), that the Ministry of land, transport and maritime affairs suggests as certificate regulation for environment friendly building and there were lots of noise sources that can provoke users in studying or concentrating. Questionnaire survey illustrates that the sound when opening and closing door, and airborne sound from outdoor transmitted through window are most annoying, which affected users' dissatisfaction.
