  • Power automation system to operate power distribution systems can be distinguished by distribution SCADA with remote monitoring and control; and distribution automation system with basic functions such as service restoration to the distribution SCADA; and distribution management system which is operated by various applications in order to enhance distribution system operation performance based on the distribution automation system. In the technological change, a technical boundary of information technology (IT) and operation technology (OT) is being blurred by that new concepts such as interoperability. In addtion, IT/OT convergence has been proposed by the improvement of ICT and power system technology. At the viewpoint, advanced distribution management system (ADMS) to have the new concepts and to increase distribution system operation efficiency through global information and functions from the other systems has been proposed. In order to implement the ADMS, IT and OT have to be employed together on the ADMS; and the concept-based IT/OT convergence concept has been presented. Therefore, this paper introduces ADMS and IT/OT convergence and proposes a design of IT/OT convergence based ADMS system design with configurations and functions.

  • It is of the most urgent necessity to get hydrological time series of long duration for the establishment of rational design and operation criterion for the Agricultural hydraulic structures. This study was conducted to select best fitted frequency distribution for the monthly runoff and to simulate long series of generated flows by multi-season first order Markov model with comparison of statistical parameters which are derivated from observed and sy- nthetic flows in the five watersheds along Geum river basin. The results summarized through this study are as follows. 1. Both two parameter gamma and two parameter lognormal distribution were judged to be as good fitted distributions for monthly discharge by Kolmogorov-Smirnov method for goodness of fit test in all watersheds. 2. Statistical parameters were obtained from synthetic flows simulated by two parameter gamma distribution were closer to the results from observed flows than those of two para- meter lognormal distribution in all watersheds. 3. In general, fluctuation for the coefficient of variation based on two parameter gamma distribution was shown as more good agreement with the observed flow than that of two parameter lognormal distribution. Especially, coefficient of variation based on two parameter lognormal distribution was quite closer to that of observed flow during June and August in all years. 4. Monthly synthetic flows based on two parameter gamma distribution are considered to give more reasonably good results than those of two parameter lognormal distribution in the multi-season first order Markov model in all watersheds. 5. Synthetic monthly flows with 100 years for eack watershed were sjmulated by multi- season first order Markov model based on two parameter gamma distribution which is ack- nowledged to fit the actual distribution of monthly discharges of watersheds. Simulated sy- nthetic monthly flows may be considered to be contributed to the long series of discharges as an input data for the development of water resources. 6. It is to be desired that generation technique of synthetic flow in this study would be compared with other simulation techniques for the objective time series.

  • In this paper, we find optimal policy for the (Q, r) inventory model under the lead time uncertainty. The (Q, r) inventory model is such that the fixed order quantity Q is placed whenever the level of on hand stock reaches the reorder point r. We first develop the single level inventory model as the basis for the analysis multi-level distribution systems. The functional problem is to determine when and how much to order in order to minimize the expected total cost per unit time, which includes the set up, inventory holding and inventory shortage cost. The model, then, is extended to the multi-level distribution system consisting of the factory, warehouses and retailers. In this case, we also find an optimal policy which minimizes the total cost of the contralized multi-level distribution system.

  • Gene classification can involve complex order-restricted inference. Examining gene expression pattern across groups with order-restriction makes standard statistical inference ineffective and thus, requires different methods. For this problem, Roy's union-intersection principle has some merit. The M-estimator adjusting for outlier arrays in a microarray study produces a robust test statistic with distribution-insensitive clustering of genes. The M-estimator in conjunction with a union-intersection principle provides a nonstandard robust procedure. By exact permutation distribution theory, a conditionally distribution-free test based on the proposed test statistic generates corresponding p-values in a small sample size setup. We apply a false discovery rate (FDR) as a multiple testing procedure to p-values in simulated data and real microarray data. FDR procedure for proposed test statistics controls the FDR at all levels of ${\alpha}$ and ${\pi}_0$ (the proportion of true null); however, the FDR procedure for test statistics based upon normal theory (ANOVA) fails to control FDR.

  • In the present paper, we prove that if there exists a second order parallel tensor on an almost Kenmotsu manifold with generalized $(k,{\mu})^{\prime}$-nullity distribution and $h^{\prime}{\neq}0$, then either the manifold is isometric to $H^{n+1}(-4){\times}{\mathbb{R}}^n$, or, the second order parallel tensor is a constant multiple of the associated metric tensor of $M^{2n+1}$ under certain restriction on k, ${\mu}$. Besides this, we study Ricci soliton on an almost Kenmotsu manifold with generalized $(k,{\mu})^{\prime}$-nullity distribution. Finally, we characterize such a manifold admitting generalized Ricci soliton.

  • This paper presents a method of the regional long-term distribution planning considering economic indicator with the assumption that energy demands proportionally increases with the economic indicators. For the practical distribution planning, it is necessary to regional load forecasting, distribution substation planning, distribution feeder planning. Accordingly, in this paper, after performing regional load forecasting considering economic indicator, it is performed distribution substation planning and distribution feeder planning in order by using this result. For accurate distribution planning, it is very important to scrutinize the correlation among the regional electric power demands, economic indicator and other characteristics because distribution planning results may vary depending on many different factors such as electric power demands, gross products, social trend and so on. In this paper, various steps microscopically and macro scopically are used for the regional long-term distribution planning in order to increase the accuracy and practical use of the results

  • In this paper, we study a generalization of the modified Weibull distribution. The generalization follows the recent work of Cordeiro et al. (2013) and is based on a class of exponentiated generalized distributions that can be interpreted as a double construction of Lehmann. We introduce a class of exponentiated generalized modified Weibull (EGMW) distribution and provide a list of some well-known distributions embedded within the proposed distribution. We derive some mathematical properties of this class that include ordinary moments, generating function and order statistics. We propose a maximum likelihood method to estimate model parameters and provide simulation results to assess the model performance. Real data is used to illustrate the usefulness of the proposed distribution for modeling reliability data.

  • From the mathematical and statistical point of view, a segment of a DNA strand can be viewed as a sequence of four-state (A, C, G, T) trials. Herein, we consider the distributions of runs and patterns related to the run lengths of multi-state sequences, especially for four states (A, B, C, D). Let X1, X2, . . . be a sequence of four state independent and identically distributed trials taking values in the set 𝒢 = {A, B, C, D}. In this study, we obtain exact formulas for the probability distribution function for the discrete distribution of runs of B's of order k. We obtain longest run statistics, shortest run statistics, and determine the distributions of waiting times and run lengths.

  • In this paper, we develop the noninformative priors for the scale parameter and the shape parameter in the log-logistic distribution. We developed the first and second order matching priors. It turns out that the second order matching prior matches the alternative coverage probabilities, and is a highest posterior density matching prior. Also we revealed that the derived reference prior is the second order matching prior for both parameters, but Jerffrey's prior is not a second order matching prior. We showed that the proposed reference prior matches the target coverage probabilities in a frequentist sense through simulation study, and an example based on real data is given.
