Analyzing the Three Supply Chain Flows in the Maritime Logistics and Distribution Industry

  • Purpose: Indonesia's maritime logistics and distribution system is currently faced with several challenges, some of which include prolonged export and import time for goods handling as well as the high logistics cost. This study further analyzes the existing business processes in maritime logistics in East Java Province in order to provide solutions to the challenges. Research design, data and methodology: This research was carried out in East Java Province, Indonesia, with data collected through field observations, documentation, and in-depth interviews with all the stakeholders involved. Results: The study showed that the number of stakeholders and activities involved in the flow of goods movement ultimately impacted the length of time. These factors can be classified into the following five: 1) export and import regulations, 2) third party logistics competencies, 3) transportation infrastructure and facilities, 4) adoption of information systems and technology, and 5) maritime line connectivity. Conclusion: Analyzing the three supply chain flows in the maritime logistics and distribution industry called for the need for improvement to increase coordination among related institutions, improve the flexibility of dwelling time to the conditions of each port, enhance service levels, improve transportation infrastructure and facilities, implement information system and technology, and develop shipping routes and networks. Therefore, a collaborative supply chain management system can be realized.

중국 동북부지역 콜드체인 네트워크 설계에 관한 연구 (The Network Design of China's Northeast Cold Chain)

  • Yet logistics base in China has a refrigerated storage facilities installed areas, the number of those is very limited and is generally insufficient. According to these especial points, a new construction cold chain logistics network design strategy is required from how to use the existing refrigerated warehouses to new issue. For example, however refrigerated storage facility is supplied, can it satisfy all demand of this area? Then does it have optimized location of this area? If future demand expansion, adding that already other refrigerated storage facilities matter? Or, add another refrigerated facilities, optimum cold chain established a network matter? So on. Above problems can be occurred. In order to solve facing many of these issues of distribution network, northeast area in China has been selected as a subject, and we designed a new cold chain distribution network.

  • 2001년 인천국제공항의 개장과 함께 과거 우리나라 항공 수출입 관문 역할을 담당하던 김포공항의 항공물류 거점 기능은 급격히 쇠퇴하였다. 그러나 김포공항 지역의 입지적 이점에 힘입어 김포공항 물류단지는 오늘날 수도권의 중요한 도시물류 거점시설로 기능하고 있다. 분석결과 인천공항의 배후물류단지, 수입화물 중심의 부가가치 물류활동 그리고 수도권 지역의 도시물류 배송센터 역할 등은 현재 김포공항 물류단지에서 수행되는 대표적인 기능으로 파악된다. 하지만 도시물류 거점시설로서 공항물류단지의 기능은 향후 운영주체(공항공사)의 수익성 제고 전략에 따라 축소될 우려가 있다. 김포공항 물류단지가 공공 기능을 수행하는 도시물류 거점시설로 지속적으로 발전하기 위해서는 국가 및 지역 단위 물류거점(시설) 개발전략과 체계적으로 연계되어야 하며, 이를 위해서는 관련 법령 및 기본계획의 종합적인 정비가 수반되어야 할 것이다.

GIS와 GOSST를 이용한 물류센터의 입지선정에 관한 연구 (The Study of Selecting of Logistics Distribution Center Using GIS and GOSST)

  • By using GOSST theory, this paper models SSCFLP taking FLP, capacity of the facilities, single source capacitated limitation level and service enhancement issues into consideration. GOSST theory is strongly suggested as the solution procedure for these issues. We have used clustering of Center of Gravity method using the case study of the company S and then, took a heuristic GOSST measure in the alternative selection process. As a result, the research finds an alternative solution that both meets the satisfactory level of service and achieves consistent distribution capacity. When using this modeling, especially, to select the location of the logistics distribution center, the efficiency of current facilities is maximized while offering the minimum geometric distance for the alternative. Also, we can expect that the illustrated model and alternative solution can be applied to architecture of distribution system, to selection of telecommunication system locations for wireless network and to relocation of related facilities due to their sensitivities to location and weight.

물류창고 시설의 인명안전기준 개선 방안에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Improvement of Life Safety Code for Logistics Warehouse Facilities)

  • The number of fires in the Korean distribution warehouse increased by about 350 from 1,070 in 2014 to 1,416 in 2020. In addition, the fire load increases with the scale of the distribution warehouse, and even if the automatic sprinkler operates, there is a limit to the direct intrusion of the water source into the ignition source, and the detector is often installed on a high ceiling. The sensing time is often delayed. In order to improve the fire safety of such distribution warehouses, the US NFPA stipulates in detail the contents related to the facility, such as sprinkler water discharge standards, rack-type warehouse installation height restrictions, and regulations on collection and equipment. However, in Japan, the goods loaded inside the distribution warehouse are not classified in detail, and it is considered that the fire safety for the distribution warehouse is low due to the relaxation regulations of the fire prevention section. Therefore, in this study, common problems are classified into material, spatial, and safety management characteristics through the cases of distribution warehouse fires that occurred in Korea and abroad, and the problems related to distribution warehouses in Korea and abroad are compared and analyzed. And present basic materials for improving the life safety standards of future distribution warehouse facilities.

실증 ESS 기반 유통 물류시설의 에너지 사용량 분석 및 평가를 위한 측정경계와 영향변수 선정 방법론 및 가이드라인 (Methodology and Guidelines for Selecting Measurement Boundaries and Influence Variables for Analyzing and Evaluating Energy Usage in Demonstration ESS-Based Distribution and Logistics Facilities)

  • ESS 기반 건축물은 에너지 절감을 ZEB, BEMS, FEMS 등 에너지 절감을 위한 주효한 수단으로 활발히 연구되고 있다. 하지만 규모가 큰 건축물에서는 에너지 사용설비가 매우 많아, 실시간 계측 시스템 구축을 위해서는 중요 에너지 사용 설비 파악이 필요하다. 또한 에너지 사용량이라는 종속변수에 영향을 끼치는 인자들 역시 무수히 많아, 효과적인 에너지 관리가 어렵다는 한계점이 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 실증 ESS 유통 물류시설을 대상으로 실사를 통해 에너지 공급현황에 따른 측정 경계 방법론을 적용, 계측 시스템 구축을 위한 우선순위를 제시하였다. 이후 실제 유통물류 시설의 에너지 사용량에 영향을 미치는 독립변수 파악을 위해 필요한 영향 변수들을 고유변수와 기상변수로 분류하여 종속변수인 실제 유통물류 시설의 에너지 사용량에 영향을 끼칠 가능성이 있는 모든 인자들을 영향변수화 하여, 이를 가이드라인으로 제시하였다. 본 연구 결과를 적용함으로써 복잡한 구조의 유통 물류 시설에서 저비용, 고효율로 모니터링 시스템 구축할 수 있고, 그렇게 계측된 에너지 사용량에 주요한 독립변수를 파악하여 에너지 사용량의 추이 파악과 절감포인트 도출을 통한 효과적인 ESS-기반 시설물의 운용이 가능할 것으로 기대된다.

A Study on the Cultivation Strategies of Logistics Talent in China

  • The logistics industry is based on personnel, and without talented individuals, corporate success in impossible. Therefore, we should fully understand and research China's future in logistics along with the status of related personnel in the country, and seek to establish valid measures concerning our country's logistics personnel. In order for Korea's logistics industry to develop, we should also consider professional training of personnel and the establishment of training facilities. The training of logistics personnel can promote national competitiveness, and can contributetowards the national economy. Also, the production of competitive personnel can secure the healthy and secure development of the Chinese logistics industry. In conclusion, our companies should continue professional training for current and new employees, and through internal training and certifications, improve workers' capabilities and productivity, promoting the healthy development of the logistics industry.

  • Logistics centers, distribution centers, or warehouse facilities increasingly dominate urban and suburban landscapes, their enormous but blank, repetitive facades completely overshadowing adjacent buildings. Mostly ignored by architects, this new building type symbolically represents the arrival of post-anthropocene, or post-urbicene era of architecture, in which an increasing portion of our built environment will not be intended for human occupancy, but rather for use by machines and artificial intelligence. As a new wave of logistics centers are becoming more automated, and more supersized, it is important to deepen architects' understanding of the organizational logic and programming factors that inform the overall design decisions for these facilities. With a particular focus on three case studies--Coupang, E-Mart, and Amazon Fulfillment Centers, this research examines the current trends in automation and expansion of logistics centers, and offers an analysis and forecast for future facilities in South Korea.
