  • The biometrics information is very useful by the convenience of ownership and using. but the risk of crime of malicious re-uses and infringement of personal privacy exist because the biometrics information is impossible to change typically when the illegal interception occurred from others. therefore the importance of security on stored management of biometrics information has been increased steadily. the existing biometric authentication system has been stored only encrypted complete template at a single storage place. In this paper, we designed the Distributed Stored of Multiple Split bio_Template System that a template is divided in different ways by each user and stored in other storage places from personal information to relieve user's anxiety about the saved template and illegally leaked through restored only template to authenticate and then delete.

  • The preservation of temporal dependencies among a group of processes that exchange continuous media at runtime is a key issue for emerging mobile distributed systems (MDS), such as monitoring of biosignals and interactive multiuser games. Although several works are oriented to satisfy temporal dependencies, most of them are not suitable for MDSs. In general, an MDS is characterized by the absence of global references (e.g. shared memory and wall clock), host mobility, limited processing and storage capabilities in mobile hosts, and limited bandwidth on wireless communication channels. This paper proposes an asymmetric synchronization protocol to be used at runtime in an MDS without using a common reference. One main aspect of our synchronization protocol is that it translates temporal constraints to causal dependencies of the continuous media data as seen by the mobile hosts. We simulate the protocol by considering a cellular network environment and by using MPEG-4 encoders. The simulation results show that our protocol is effective in reducing the synchronization error. In addition, the protocol is efficient in terms of processing and storage costs at the mobile devices, as well as in the overhead attached per message across the wired and wireless channels.

  • With the development of industry and the improvement of living standards, better quality in power electric service is required more than ever before. This paper deals with the optimal algorithms for voltage regulation in the case where Distributed Storage and Generation (DSG) systems are operated in distribution systems. It is very difficult to handle the interconnection issues for proper voltage managements, because the randomness of the load variations and the irregular operation of DSG should be considered. This paper proposes the optimal on-line real time voltage regulation methods in power distribution systems interconnected with the DSG systems. In order to deliver suitable voltage to as many customers as possible, the optimal sending voltage should be decided by the effective voltage regulation method by using artificial neural networks to consider the rapid load variation and random operation characteristics of DSG systems. The simulation results from a case study show that the proposed method can be a practical tool for the voltage regulation in distribution systems including many DSG systems.

  • The widespread usage of blockchain technology in cryptocurrencies has led to the adoption of the blockchain concept in data storage management systems for secure and effective data storage and management. Several innovative studies have proposed solutions that integrate blockchain with distributed databases. In this article, we review current blockchain databases, then focus on two well-known blockchain databases-BigchainDB and FalconDB-to illustrate their architecture and design aspects in more detail. BigchainDB is a distributed database that integrates blockchain properties to enhance immutability and decentralization as well as a high transaction rate, low latency, and accurate queries. Its architecture consists of three layers: the transaction layer, consensus layer, and data model layer. FalconDB, on the other hand, is a shared database that allows multiple clients to collaborate on the database securely and efficiently, even if they have limited resources. It has two layers: the authentication layer and the consensus layer, which are used with client requests and results. Finally, a comparison is made between the two blockchain databases, revealing that they share some characteristics such as immutability, low latency, permission, horizontal scalability, decentralization, and the same consensus protocol. However, they vary in terms of database type, concurrency mechanism, replication model, cost, and the usage of smart contracts.

  • A glucose hydrothermal method is described for preparing hollow carbon spheres (HCS), which have a regular morphology and a high Brunauer-Emmett-Teller surface area of 28.6 m2/g. Scanning electron microscopy shows that they have thin shells and diameter between 2 and 8 ${\mu}m$. The HCSs were modified for the enhanced room temperature hydrogen storage by employing Ni nanoparticles on their surface. The Ni-decorated HCSs were characterized by X-ray diffraction, transmission electron microscopy coupled with an energy dispersive spectroscope, and an inductively coupled plasma spectrometer, indicating that fine and well-distributed Ni nanoparticles can be accomplished on the HCSs. The hydrogen uptake capacity in HCSs with and without Ni loading was evaluated using a high-pressure microbalance at room temperature under a hydrogen pressure upto 9 MPa. As much as 1.23wt.% of hydrogen can be stored when uniformly distributed Ni nanoparticles are formed on the HCSs, while the hydrogen uptake capacity of as-received HCSs was 0.41 wt.%. For Ni nanoparticle-loaded HCSs, hydrogen molecules could be easily dissociated into atomic hydrogen and then chemically adsorbed by the sorbents, leading to an enhanced capacity for storing hydrogen.

  • Memcached, commonly used to speed up the data access in big-data and Internet-web applications, is a system software of the distributed-cache mechanism. But it is subject to the severe challenge of the loss of recently uncommitted updates in the case where the Memcached servers crash due to some reason. Although the replica scheme and the disk-log-based replay mechanism have been proposed to overcome this problem, they generate either the overhead of the replica synchronization or the persistent-storage overhead that is caused by flushing related logs. This paper proposes a scheme of backing up the write requests (i.e., set and add) on the Memcached client side, to reduce the overhead resulting from the making of disk-log records or performing the replica consistency. If the Memcached server fails, a timestamp-based recovery mechanism is then introduced to replay the write requests (buffered by relevant clients), for regaining the lost-data updates on the rebooted Memcached server, thereby meeting the data-consistency requirement. More importantly, compared with the mechanism of logging the write requests to the persistent storage of the master server and the server-replication scheme, the newly proposed approach of backing up the logs on the client side can greatly decrease the time overhead by up to 116.8% when processing the write workloads.

  • Traditional regenerating codes are designed to tolerate node failures with optimal bandwidth overhead. However, there are many types of partial failures inside the node, such as latent sector failures. Recently, proposed regenerating codes can also repair intra-node failures with node-level redundancy but incur significant bandwidth and I/O overhead. In this paper, we construct a new scheme of regenerating codes, called IR-RBT codes, which employs intra-node redundancy to tolerate intra-node failures and serve as the help data for other nodes during the repair operation. We propose 2 algorithms for assigning the intra-node redundancy and RBT-Helpers according to the failure probability of each node, which can flexibly adjust the helping relationship between nodes to address changes in the actual situation. We demonstrate that the IR-RBT codes improve the bandwidth and I/O efficiency during intra-node failure repair over traditional regenerating codes but sacrifice the storage efficiency.

  • In the cloud service, system resource such as CPU, memory, I/O bandwidth are shared among multiple users. Particularly, in Linux containers environment, I/O bandwidth is distributed in proportion to the weight of each container through the BFQ I/O scheduler. However, since the I/O scheduler can only be applied to conventional block storage devices, it cannot be applied to Zoned Namespace(ZNS) SSD, a new storage interface that has been recently studied. To overcome this limitation, in this paper, we implemented a weighted proportional I/O bandwidth sharing scheme for ZNS SSDs in dm-zoned, which emulates conventional block storage using ZNS SSDs. Each user receives a different amount of budget, which is required to process the user's I/O requests based on the user's weight. If the budget is exhausted I/O requests cannot be processed and requests are queued until the budget replenished. Each budget refill period, the budget is replenished based on the user's weight. In the experiment, as a result, we can confirm that the I/O bandwidth can be distributed on their weight as we expected.

  • When a drought occurs in an area irrigated by multi-reservoirs, onerating a single reservoir separately to control the reservoir' storage is not a desirable solution. In order to reduce damages effectively for the areal drought, the storage of the reservoirs within the areal boundary should be managed as a group. Storage management procedures are as follows : 1. Collecting and checking the present storages of all reservoirs 2. Computing the drought frequency and depth; and finally, establishing a suitable storage saving strategy based on the estimated drought depth. For the purpose of this storage management, the RESTOMS(Reservoirs Storage Management System) was developed and the system was composed of the PRIME computer and the ORACLE as a distributed database management system, which was the host computer of Rural Development Corporation and would be on-lined with the regional offices throughout the country. Reservoirs operated by Farm Land Improvment Association were comprised in the DB system. Using the RESTOMS, the drought frequencies and drought depths were calculated with respect to the reservoir storage records(1967 to 1992). It was obvious that the results were closely corresponding to the real drought records.
