FET-type dissolved oxygen sensor has the Pt working electrode around the pH-ISFET. Appling a voltage to the working electrode, the hydrogen ion which is proportional to the dissolved oxygen concentration occurs around the pH sensing gate and we can measure the dissolved oxygen concentration by detecting pH concentration through the pH-ISFET. In this paper, a dissolved oxygen measurement system using FET-type dissolved oxygen sensor array which adopt a specific algorithm to enhance the reliability has been developed and we compared its performance with the commercial dissolved oxygen measurement system.

This paper presents a microfabricated Clark-type sensor which exactly can measure dissolved oxygen in the cell containing solution. We designed, fabricated, and characterized a microfabircated Clark-type oxygen sensor for measuring dissolved oxygen. The microfabricated oxygen sensor consists of 3-electrodes on a glass substrate, a FEP (Fluorinated ethylene propylene) oxygen-permeable membrane, and PDMS (Polydimethylsiloxane) reservoir for storing sample solution. Thin-film Ag/AgCl was employed as a reference electrode and its durability was verified by obtaining a stable open circuit potential for 2 hours against a commercial Ag/AgCl electrode and a stable cyclic voltammetry curve. Selectivity, response time, and linearity of the fabricated oxygen sensor were also verified well by cyclic voltammetry and amperometry depending. The fabricated oxygen sensor showed a 90% response time of 40sec and an excellent linearity with a correlation coefficient of 0.994.

The dissolved oxygen sensor of thick film type was fabricated by screen print method and measured the characteristic, reference electrode used Ag/AgCl, and working electrode used Pt. The devices are continuously powered at potential of $0.7V{\sim}0.8V$ versus Ag/AgCl reference electrode and results indicated that the response characteristic of sensor was $1.002{\mu}A{\sim}19.792{\mu}A$ for thirty seconds. we can know that it is good linearity when compared with of existent dissolved oxygen meter. Therefore sensor fabricated excels sensitivity for dissolved oxygen and will be considered to be applied typically because the price is costly.

This study evaluates the performance of an optical sensor and measurement system (CMA-24) which can analyze the fluctuation of dissolved oxygen and pH simultaneously. In the optical sensor system, the fluorescent materials, Rudpp and HPTS which are sensitive to dissolved oxygen and pH, respectively, are coated on the bottom of a 24-well -plate by the sol-gel technology. The detection times of the emission light of the oxygen sensor were $4,186{\pm}13.90{\mu}s$ and $4,452{\pm}36.68{\mu}s$ for the dissolved oxygen of 17% $O_2$ and 7.6% $O_2$, respectively. On the other hand, the detection times of the pH sensor were $6,699.43{\pm}14.64{\mu}s$, $6,722.24{\pm}6.21{\mu}s$, and $6,748.52{\pm}2.63{\mu}s$ using pH 6, 7, and 8, respectively. When we determined cellular respiration levels of C2C12 myocytes with CMA-24, $O_2$/pH measurement system, the ratio of the uncoupled to coupled OCR (oxygen consumption rate) was 1.41. The results mean that this CMA-24 system shows almost the same sensitiveness as the commercial system.

Dissolved oxygen sensors have characteristics in which data drift occurs over time. Therefore, in-situ calibration of the dissolved oxygen sensor is essential to accurately measure the concentration of dissolved oxygen in seawater. In order to provide a method for in-situ calibration, appropriate number of samples for calibration, and laboratory calibration interval of the dissolved oxygen sensor, the dissolved oxygen sensor values were compared with the measured values by titration on a total of 133 samples from three different cruises in the Indian Ocean, Pacific Ocean, and East Sea over a period of about one year. As a result, it is preferable to calibrate the sensor value using the correlation of a straight line obtained by directly comparing the final concentration value given by the sensor and the measured value. For the accurate calibration, at least 30 samples must be used to enable in-situ calibration within an accuracy range of about 1%. In addition, it is recommended that a laboratory calibration should perform within 1 year for the membrane type dissolved oxygen sensor for CTD to achieve a performance of 70% or more.
This study proposes a pH-dissolved-oxygen monitoring system using 8-HydroxyPyrene-1,3,6-trisulfonic acid Trisodium Salt (HPTS) and tris(4,7-diphenyl-1,10-phenanthroline)Ruthenium(II) chloride (Rudpp). Commercial water-quality sensors are electrochemical devices that require frequent calibration and cleaning, are subject to high maintenance costs, and have difficulties conducting measurements in real-time. The proposed pH-dissolved-oxygen monitoring system selects a thin-film sensing layer to measure the change in fluorescence intensity. This change in fluorescence intensity is based on reactions with hydrogen ions in an aqueous solution at a given pH and specific amount of dissolved oxygen. The change in fluorescence intensity is then measured using light-emitting diodes and photodiodes in response to HPTS and Rudpp. This method enables the development of a relatively small, inexpensive, and real-time measureable water-quality measurement system.
A method is described for the design and fabrication of the sensor interface circuits on the Clark electrodes for the dissolved oxygen(DO). The discussion includes a method for the +5 V single-supply driving for the sensor circuits, which has low power comsumption for the front-end electronics. DO probe under test is composed of the Clark electrode with silver anode, gold cathode and the electrolyte of half saturated KCI solution and the FEP teflon memtrance for the oxygen penetration. Typical polarograms for the DO probes by using this sensor circuit reveals high accuracy over 99% of the I to V conversion. Partial pressure of oxygen obtained from the polarograms are well suited to the results calculated. It is expected that the proposed sensor circuits can be utilized into the customized IC for the battery-driven small-size DO meters.

In this paper, we describe a portable potentiostat which is capable of cyclic voltammetry(CV) and amperometry for electrochemical dissolved oxygen sensor. In addition, this portable potentiostat can also transmit the measured data wirelessly to android devices such as smart phone, tablet, etc. through Bluetooth. The potentiostat system consists of three parts; a voltage generator circuit which is controlled by Arduino nano and 12-bit DAC(digital to analog converter) to generate necessary electric potential for operating the electrochemical sensor, an oxidation/reduction current measurement circuit, and a Bluetooth module to transmit data wirelessly to an android device. Once measurements are carried out with the android application, the measured data is transmitted to the android device via Bluetooth and displayed using the android app. in real time. In this paper, we report the measured reduction current with a fabricated dissolved oxygen sensor in both saturated-oxygen state and zero-oxygen states. The results of the developed portable potentiostat system are in good agreement with those of the commercial portable potentiostat (${\mu}stat200$, Dropsens inc.). The measured peak reduction currents using the developed potentiostat and the commercial ${\mu}stat200$ potentiostat were $-0.755{\mu}A$ and $-0.724{\mu}A$, respectively. The reduction currents measured at zero-oxygen state were $-0.005{\mu}A$ and $-0.004{\mu}A$. The discrepancy between those two systems seems very small, which implies successful development of a portable and wireless potentionstat.
An evaluation method for oxygen permeable characteristics of the membrane covering to each cathode of multiple cathode - single anode type dissolved oxygen sensor, which has high reproducibility and is capable of measuring multiple components in solutions. For this purpose, a measuring circuit for the multiple cathode type DO sensor was designed to lower the noise signal by adapting a digital LPF to readout the sensor output accurately. Digital LPF is designed by setting up the transfer function to set the cutoff frequency to 10Hz, and the transfer function is programmed by C language, and then the filtering characteristics are evaluated with the simulation and experiments. Using this LPF added measuring circuit for the multiple cathode type DO sensor, we have obtained the calibration factor for each cathode to calibrate the variation of the output signals. The calibration factor was obtained by measuring the sensor output signal followed by oxygen partial pressure, using the same oxygen permeable membrane at each cathode of the multiple cathode type DO sensor.

Dissolved oxygen, pH, and temperature are the most important factors for fish farming because they affect fish growth and mass mortality of the fish. Therefore, fish farm workers must always check all pools on the farm, but this is very difficult in reality. That's why we developed a control system for smart fish farms. This system includes a gateway, sensor gatherers, and a PC program using LabVIEW. One sensor gatherer can cover up to four pools. The sensor gatherers are connected to the gateway in the form of a bus. For the gateway, the ATmega2560 is used as the main processor for communication and the STM32F429 is used as a sub-processor for displaying LCD. For the sensor gatherer, ATmega2560 is used as the main processor for communication. MQTT (Message Queuing Telemetry Transport), RS-485, and Zigbee are used as the communication protocols in the control system. The users can control the temperature and the dissolved oxygen using the PC program. The commands are transferred from the PC program to the gateway through the MQTT protocol. When the gateway gets the commands, it transfers the commands to the appropriate sensor gatherer through RS-485 and Zigbee.
