Analysis Method of Signal Integrity for Mobile Display Circuit Modules (모바일 디스플레이 회로 모듈의 시그널 인티그리티 해석 기법)

  • This paper addresses the simulation methodology of signal integrity and power integrity for mobile display modules. The proposed technique can be applied to analyse a circuit module which consist of connector, FPCB and driver ICs. The recent demand of serial interconnection technology in the mobile display industry needs delicate impedance control of signal and power traces to prohibit system malfunctioning and to reduce electromagnetic field radiation. Based on the S-parameter and Z-parameter analysis, we analyse the correlation between frequency-domain and time-domain measurements. With multi-port macros, signal integrity can be included in power integrity analysis in time domain.

  • This paper deals with the development of RACOM(Radar Signal Detecting & Processing Computer). RACOM is a radar display system specially designed for radar scan conversion, signal processing and PCI radar image display. RACOM contains two components; i )RSP(Radar Signal Processor) board which is a PCI based board for receiving video, trigger, heading & bearing signals from radar scanner & tranceiver units and processing these signals to generate high resolution radar image, and ⅱ)Applications which perform ordinary radar display functions such as EBL, VRM and so on. Since RACOM is designed to meet a wide variety of specifications(type of output signal from tranceiver unit), to record radar images and to distribute those images in real time to everywhere in a networked environment, it can be applicable to AIS(Automatic Identification System) and VDR(Voyage Data Recorder).

ServerNet and ATM Interconnects: Comparison for Compressed Video Transmission

  • We have developed fully functional Video Server and Client applications which can transmit, receive, decompress and display compressed video over various networks. Our video trans-port allows dynamic rate control feedback, loss detection, and repair requests from Clients to the Server. Our experiments show how feedvack-before-degradation scheme for rate adaptation maintains good display frame-rate for video playback. We show how the playback degradation(reduction in display frame-rate) oc-curs and what happens if corrective measures are not taken to im-prove the situation. The degradation is attributed to the increased internal kernel buffering which consumes scarce CPU resources. We demontrate with our experimental results that ServerNet, with improved hardware delivery guarantees, can significantly reduce host CPU resource consumption while serving video streams. We present the maximum number of streams which can be served for each of ATM and ServerNet interconnects. The appropriate user-level packet size for the video server are also determined for each case.

  • The ENC standard, S-57 Specification was established to exchange hydrographic data between it's users such as HOs ECDIS users, etc. The digital navigation chart which is produced according to the S-57 Specification is called an ENC(Electronic Navigational Chart) and the SENC(System ENC) is a by-product of ENC suitable for computer graphics system Even though the efficient structure of SENC is a key element of measuring ECDIS performance, the amount of papers about these topics are small compared with other research fields. In this paper, the author designed an efficient spatial data structure of SENC, called Mesh This paper also includes the implementation result of the 'Mesh' which displays SENC on computer screen.

A CMOS 5.4/3.24-Gbps Dual-Rate CDR with Enhanced Quarter-Rate Linear Phase Detector

  • This paper presents a clock and data recovery circuit that supports dual data rates of 5.4 Gbps and 3.24 Gbps for DisplayPort v1.2 sink device. A quarter-rate linear phase detector (PD) is used in order to mitigate high speed circuit design effort. The proposed linear PD results in better jitter performance by increasing up and down pulse widths of the PD and removes dead-zone problem of charge pump circuit. A voltage-controlled oscillator is designed with a 'Mode' switching control for frequency selection. The measured RMS jitter of recovered clock signal is 2.92 ps, and the peak-to-peak jitter is 24.89 ps under $2^{31}-1$ bit-long pseudo-random bit sequence at the bitrate of 5.4 Gbps. The chip area is 1.0 mm${\times}$1.3 mm, and the power consumption is 117 mW from a 1.8 V supply using 0.18 ${\mu}m$ CMOS process.

  • The paper describes on the implementation of three-dimensional visualization system that is to visualize meaning of the statistical prediction results of marine casualty with easy of understanding. Graphical User Interface(GUI) and Web based Virtual Reality (VR) technology are mainly introduced in the system development. In addition, the time based prediction models of the marine casualty and the risk level are developed to display daily situation. As operating test results of the system, it is known that complicated statistical results can be shown as simple colour in the three-dimensional virtual space.

  • As the marine transportation has increased, the safe maneuvering system has been required. SOLAS obligated regulations for carrying AIS(Automatic Identification System) onboard. This system provides navigational information including identification, classification, position, a ship's course and voyage status from own vessel to ground and other vessels. Being utilized in the most development of application service for safe maneuvering, they are to be managed systematic. In this paper, we introduce a database system to manage the voyage status and navigational information of AIS message. It is classified by static or dynamic. An electronic navigational chart display system is implemented to verify the design.

  • Recently, ships have begun using the Asterix CAT 240 format as a method for transmitting radar image data to other devices. However, the Asterix format has a flexible structure that can be defined by the user, and a format structure defined as unsuitable for ship radar operation may undesirably increase navigational equipment network traffic or reduce stability. Therefore, to reduce the traffic of the navigation network and enhance the stability, a method of defining the optimized Asterix CAT 240 format with an appropriate setting value according to the performance of the radar scanner and display device was studied.

However, a study on autonomous navigation assistance service for Navigation Assistance Service(NAS) which is second item of Maritime Service Portfolio(MSP) suggested by IMO was not studied. Therefore, in this paper, we derive information items for autonomous navigation assistance service and research on a display system for displaying the items.

  • Recently, due to the rapid development of smart computing technology, there have been a lot of studies on 3D navigation, and consequently the advanced commercial 3D navigation system and 3D VTS system are on the market. Even the 3D technology is well known and wide spreaded, unfortunately, the secret of code behind is still unleashed. The purpose of this paper is to show the basic methodologies to display ENC features under 3D display environment to meet the requirement of S-52 standards. The OpenGL ES is used to develop 3D ENC Viewer for further use on mobile platforms and web based vessel monitoring system. P articularly, area object triangulation, complex line drawing, polygon pattern filling and symbol drawing by texture mapping are explained in detail. The result of performance test is shown as table for correlation of SENC file size to display speed.
