Mammography equipment is an essential detector for making an early diagnosis of female's breast lesion. Recently, in most hospitals, a digital mammography detector is used due to the wide and consistent supply of digital mammography equipment. However, the average effective radiation is increasing due to the indiscreet use of CR or DR mammography. The purpose of this study is to recognize the possible indirect radiation damage, which can be occurred due to an excessive effective exposure of radiation, by evaluating spacial radiation rate of the digital mammography detector used for female patient. Consequently, the high mount of spacial radiation showed digital mammography equipment on the horizontal direction. Considering the result, digital mammography equipment should be installed by avoiding along the horizontal direction.

Braille guide block of sidewalk is an essential facility for independent walking of the blind. The blind walks while checking the braile guide blocks with white cane and sense of sole. When they leave the braile area, they face difficulties until they find the braile guide blocks again. In this paper, we propose an algorithm that guides the walking of the blind by determining whether they follows the braille guide blocks safely. For this purpose, the slope of the braille block is selected as a feature and a 3-line detector is introduced. Also the slopes are stabilized using spatial filtering to deal with breaks or junctions of the braille block during the progress and temporal filtering to cope with ego-motion of the blind. Through simulations using a dataset obtained from the real sidewalks and indoors, it can be shown that the proposed algorithm can successfully estimate the walking direction and determine whether the blind is out of the braille guide block area.
Coincidence summing correction effects are known to be greater as the efficiency of the detector increases and as the distance between the source and the detector increases. A point source($^{60}Co$) was used to vary the distance in the direction of the detector's center axis and in the radial direction to obtain the P/T ratio for Coincidence summing correction calibration. In this study, values for coincidence summing corrected calibration of the values in the central and radial directions were applied to the mixed volume source(450 ml CRM source) to compare the overall peak efficiency change according to P/T with Geant4. In addition, the efficiency obtained from the mapping method is applied to the seaweed, a marine sample, and the compatibility of the P/T ratio with the detector and sample very dose together. The efficiency corrected to 1,836 keV was applied to the energy zone affected by the efficiency of 500 keV and the relative error of the measured and corrected values was well matcched by the 3.2 % peak efficiency correction. As with 450 mL CRM source, the larger the volume, the lower the P/T ratio was by ${\pm}5%$. This is due to the increased scattering of gamma-rays emitted as the source becomes farther away from the detector, and this change in P/T has been confirmed to affect the Coincidence summing corrected peak efficiency.

In this research, 3D position exploring system was developed to detect direction and position of radiation source by using two general CCD camera. This system consists of a radiation detection device, a controlling device, and a monitoring device. A radiation detection device is composed of a collimator, a scintillator, CCD sensor, and radiation shielding part. Incident radiation is firstly collimated with direction and converted into visual lights in a scintillator. The CCD sensor detect the converted visual light and send a signal as an image. This can explore a radiation source with direction and distance from geometrical structure of two sensors. From these information, the developed 3D position exploring system can provide 3D radiation source information. This research will be useful for managing and processing radioactive materials in remote.
Recently, two instruments of cosmic ray are operating in South Korea. One is Seoul muon detector after October 1999 and the other is Daejeon neutron monitor (Kang et al. 2012) after October 2011. The former consists of four small plastic scintillators and the latter is the standard 18 NM 64 type. In this report, we introduce the characteristics of both instruments. We also analyze the flux variations of cosmic ray such as diurnal variation and Forbush decrease. As the result, the muon flux shows the typical seasonal and diurnal variations. The neutron flux also shows the diurnal variation. The phase which shows the maximum flux in the diurnal variation is around 13-14 local time. We found a Forbush decrease on 7 March 2012 by both instruments. It is also identified by Nagoya multi-direction muon telescope and Oulu neutron monitor. The observation of cosmic ray at Jangbogo station as well as in Korean peninsula can support the important information on space weather in local area. It can also enhance the status of Korea in the international community of cosmic ray experiments.
This paper presents the efficient method to detect the defective detectors of the SWIR band of SPOT 4. The key of this method are to flatten the baseline of the data using high pass band filter instead of differentiation. This method is made up six steps. First step is to apply image enhancement techniques to enhance the lines imaged by defective detector and improve the quality of an image. Second step is processed by summing the enhanced image in line direction. These summed data have the peaks that represent the defective detectors and the curved baseline characterized by the reflectivity of Earth surface. In order to exactly detect these peaks, third step is to flatten the curved baseline using high pass filtering in the frequency domain. In fourth step, the data with flat baseline is normalized to have zero mean and unity standard deviation. In fifth step, the defective detectors are detected using $99.9\%$ confidence interval. Finally, after removing the detected ones in summed data, the steps from third to five are iterated. Three SPOT 4 images, which have different reflectivity of Earth surface and different sensor, were used to validate this method. The overall accuracy of detection for three images was $97.9\%$. This result shows that this method can detect efficiently the lines made by defective detectors.

Holographic Data Storage System, one of the next generation data storage devices, is a 2-dimensional page oriented memory system using volume holograms in writing and retrieving process. Recently photopolymer with disc type substrate was selected as a media for the Holographic Data Storage System. The disc tilt occurs when the media rotates and the external disturbance applies. The disc tilt causes the change of the angle between the reference beam and the media, the data cannot be retrieved with the right angle or other data page is retrieved. The tilt is generated in a 2-axis direction (tangential, radial). The tangential tilt direction is the same with the multiplexing plane, while the radial tilt direction is a perpendicular to the multiplexing plane. In this research we propose 2-axis tilt angle servo system. The tilt errors are measured by using external photo detector and the additional red laser. Then the tangential direction tilt is compensated by using the galvano mirror. Also the radial direction tilt is compensated by the rotating prism between the relay lens in the reference field. Finally we confirm the compensation results through the Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR) and Bit Error Rate(BER).
Measurement equipment, which consists of He-Ne laser, objective lens, CCD camera and position sensitive detector, was developed for the dynamic response of micromirror. This equipment can measure the tilting direction and angle, the rise time and frequency response of micromirror to the input signal. It was found that the rise time of the micromirror was less than 10${\mu}m$ and the resonant frequency was about 25kHz.
This paper describes the counting-loss problem for radiation measurement Multi-channel analyzers and spectrometers adopt various techniques for compensation for counting-losses in process-ing the radiation pulses from a detector. Researchers hate tried to seek the best solution for the problem. However, any absolute solution has not been reached and vendors of radiation instruments use their own algorithms individually. This survey explains the various compensation algorithms with electronic implementation approach. Shortcomings and merits of each algorithm are also reviewed and a direction is suggested of the recommendable development strategy for counting-loss compensation.
